posted a message on will 1.0.3 help?
The main issue i worry about is the AH(gold/real money). They are making the gear drops a little bit easier for people. Like with the act 4 stuff dropping on act 1. There are tons and tons of people who have made it to act 1, and simply can not progress much past act 1. With this change they can farm the hell out of act 1(which they likely already do) and get the more decent gear drops to sell on the AH.

So i think shortly after the patch drops we will actually see a large spike in item sales on the AH if this gear drop change does make a difference in actual drops. Right now you see mostly level 50-59 gear dropping on act 1. Very very few 60 items ever drop, and when they do most are just crap blue with no real stats(socketed ring comes to mind).

I do think some of the people who are having 'some' issues on act 2 will get the most benefit out of this patch. The people who can squeek by most of the act but have some issues here and there(like the mentioned sewers...). With the patch it should be just enough of a change for them to make the entire act a little more bearable for them. However for the people who have issues on the skeleton king and the butcher.... sorry ;)

Kiting an elite pack for over 15 minutes. And him yelling: "COULD WE FIND MORE LIKE THAT!" makes you want to bind him to a pole in the middle of act 2 inferno and run away.

he 'usually' only does this with packs that have illusion, and you kill off some or all of their illusions. Likely a trigger bug for the conversation. Whatever hook they have in the code simply has it trigger off killing 3 elites after finding the elites, instead of killing the main elites with some extra checks.

Just for your information, that annoying accent Kormac has is from the Yorkshire area of England...probably where the actor is from.

The actor is, from sources i have found, is Dominic Keating. The actor who played Malcom Reed on Star Trek: Enterprise. From the frist time i ran into him i knew it had to be him.

    edit:

He is from quite a bit south of yorkshire actually, but where someone is from doesnt always mean thats the accent they end up with...

posted a message on Refuses to make offline version; justifies "pay-to-win" model to fund server costs.
Most 'single player games' get little to no added content, patches are simply to fix major issues like game crashes(they usually dont care about glitches that let people cheat). With D3 i know blizzard will be making a fair amount of money off the game after initial product purchase revenue. So they will have it in their best interest to constantly add new content to the game. Make changes that the community wants, keep as many people playing for as long as possible.

So for me, as a player, i see the RMAH as a godsend. I of course would never spend a penny there my self... but hell if i can make $20 selling some digital item i wouldnt use otherwise... fuck it im gonna get me some money. Plus i know it will help keep the game going, and keep it evolving/changing over time. Giving me more to come back for later on. With MMOs they do this by having a monthly charge, to keep servers up, and pay for continued growth of the game. With single player games the company has no further income from the game once a person has paid for the game, so they have little to no reason to keep working on the title outside of simple bug fixes. The only thing that has more recently changed this is DLC's that can bring in a little extra cash.

So its a win for me. Its a win for Blizzard. Its a win for all of us.... what is broken in your brain if you think its a bad thing?

Yeah i have tossed in the towel. Though im not 'stopping' my playing of the game. I will level other classes, i will play along with my wife when she is on. So not 100% quitting till patch. However i dont plan on bashing my head on wall during act 2 anymore with hope being just around the corner.

However from what ive heard, from friends who have cleared inferno, act 2 was always the most difficult for them overall.

The pic isnt loading, no clue. However is it a ss of your taskmanger showing the 2 processes of diablo3? or is it more obvious like 2 on the taskbar. If you are talking in the taskmanager then what i have is just Diablo III.exe *32 with the description of 'Diablo III' no TM, infact i cant find a TM next to the word diablo 3 anywhere at all.

My wife found a 1.190 running butcher, i thought items of that lvl couldn't drop from there, guess i was wrong.

been farming butcher for a week straight. maybe 40 or so kills with 5 stacks of valor each time. Never seen a 1hand over 550 dps and a 2hand over 650 dps :(

Maybe you were on HELL the whole time :D

lol, there has been a few times now where things were goin down a lil quicker and the drops were all really crappy where i actually had to stop and look to see what difficulty i was on just to make sure.... turns out i was just getting lucky on the elite packs with affixes.

Friend linked me his drops the other day on a diablo kill on inferno. Not a single item was lvl 60 at all. Highest was a 59 i believe and that was a rather crappy blue. The rares that dropped were in the mid 50s range. So yeah.... RNG is a bitch. this soooooo better be fixed in 1.0.3

posted a message on Diablo 3 - Act 1 Inferno Farming Loot (Legendary Item!)
This is why i have pretty much halted playing inferno at all until 1.0.3. I will level some other classes till then, and help my wife progress though act 1(she just got there today). Aside from that though, im not gonna waste another minute farming act 1 at all. If the changes they say they are making hold out, and we can actually get more then 1 or 2 level 60 items on act 1, then i will go back to farming in the hopes of an upgrade or a sellable item.

posted a message on So Discouraging
Yeah i can live with never gettting drops for my WD, ever. That i can deal with. I understand there are so many possible variations on gear drops i may never see one drop that i can use(on inferno). However when im going through act 1 and 2 and each time i fill up my bags and head back to town to empty them out, i usually have around 2 level 60 items. Thats it. Everything else is a range of level 50-59.

So when they make these changes to the drop rates if i get more then 2 level 60 items each run then i might be a bit more happy. However i shouldnt be getting anything below level 60 gear on inferno. It just doesnt sit right with me. Bust my ass to farm so i can afford new gear so i can progress more and all i get is lower level crap i couldnt sell for 1000g. I dont care how many rare/set/legendarys drop, i dont care if i only get 2-3 per run. long as what im getting are level 60 items. you can kill diablo on inferno and have a good chance of getting something from say level 54... how much sense does that make?

of course...dont forget multiplayer. though the game is good single player, nothing quite like multiplayer with diablo. plus the side attraction of pvp. so the entire package combined should provide endless hours of enjoyment, unless you have a very extreme case of ADD.

yeah, i could see maybe early next week for first wave of invites going out. more a shot in the dark, but feels right. all i know is, my email client is loaded up 24/7 with auto check mail on. i know they say "its a random pick after getting a spread of various computer hardware setups" and all that, but i like to hope my previous beta experience with blizzard will help my chances a little bit, even if only to make myself feel better about my chances ;)
