Memorable music to me is closely followed by memorable moments... I can only remember a music as much as I can remember the good times I had when it was playing.

So, I'll have to wait and see if RoS' music is going to be "memorable" :D (the quality is undeniable though, as Polrayne very properly pointed out in his post)... until then, I'm probably not listening to it. Don't wanna spoil anything.

Will gold go back to d2 style (being useless) when the AH is removed or will it still be the currency while trading?

I don't think D2 gold is useless, you can use it to gamble and get yourself something that worth alot, unlike in D3 lol

Blizzard want to turn D3 into boing world of warcraft where you can't count the zeros of enemy's hps combined with stupid uninteresting combat, this way they can have 2 boring games instead of 1 and say "we doubled it"

The removal of AH wont change anything. People will just find something else to whine about(the casual group), another way to buy items etc(the hardcore group).

Casual players is the curse of every community(sorry)and the group, who is so excited about this change.

Sad but true, they will find another excuse for sucking at D3...

With the removal of action house the likelyhood of third party sites such as d2jsp overtaking the trade market is huge, do you think blizzard are prepared to battle the third party ?

it's your burden to prove that immunities bring something interesting and positive to the game... so why don't you give it a whirl... what actual good would come from throwing immunities into D3?

I didn't mention immunities in the initial idea, only as a reply but since you ask me to prove to you it can be made possible i will :)

Immunities doesn't necessarily mean D2 like immunities, if you have noticed the pattern of my ideas it suggest a circle of stats that roll on items and counter each other.

Based upon my idea lets say you have barb that have 10% crushing blow from unique ring, 10% from boots and 15% from weapon, each hit will have 35% chance to land crushing blow that bypasses and %armor which makes the enemy monster no longer immune to physical, that is the case if you cared to introduce something more than simply dps+eHP on your barbarian :)

An exapme can be made for every other class and type of famage!

Btw have you noticed in D3 weapons actually have a combined damage of base + 1 type of elemental ? Just something to think about ..

That was one of the worst ideas they ever implemented in D2. It's one of the last things they should ever consider in D3.
Hehe, do you care to explain your statement ? Because i can think of many ways to overcome immunities in D2....

nah, ist a hackn n slash. don't take that away
Nobody is taking that away, is still hack n slash, you simply need more diverse items to overcome nasty monsterpacks with lets say immnunities or alot of armor or alot of block or dodging or some nasty effect when they strike you and many other effects.

I am not saying monsters should behave differently, you simply need more diverse stats in order to overcome them without much trouble. If you lack those stats it won't be an easy fight.

    Hello guys :D

The reason i am writing this topic is the leaked info concerning the of items of RoS, i like to share some thoughts, suggest some ideas on the matter, hopefully if blizzard reads those forums maybe they can take tip or two from my topic.

First, i like the fact that they are trying to improve the items and make them more interesting/game changing and i have to admit that there are some really cool item effects specially for hardcore.
However loot 2.0 (though not finished) is heading yet again on the same direction blizzard went the first time when they attempted to improve the legendaries.

Basically what they do is inflate the stats, add some funny side effect and call it a day. This leads to boring linear all-star-stats item system. The results of this is players rarely keep that funny item but rather collect more dps/eHP without caring about any other item that have less dps+main stat+vit.

This is happening is because there are not diverse stats to collect and the reason there are no diverse stats to collect is because monsters are way to simplified/uninteresting/unchallenging - just dps/hp. They ether have high hp/dps or low hp/dps, this doesn't provoke players's creativity but rather encourage them to brainlessly stack more dps/eHP

In order to fix itemization, monsters need to be addressed first:

    - Add diverse and unique types of defensive/offensive/passive stats to champions/bosses

    - To counter those monsters's special attributes add interesting stats on items

    - Make players choose! make sure nobody can have perfect all-star-stats-hero but rather must decide which set of items/stats they feel confortable to go out with and hunt monsters.

    - Having items that boost one stat too much should result in other stat deficit so players need to find the balance of how effective they want to be versus the different types of champion/bosses according to what build they use and what items they have available.

Here i like to share some ideas on interesting stats:

*Recovery - Lethality - Crowd Control
    - Crowd contol - Everyone already know how cc works in game.
    - Recovery - (It is simplified name for cc reduction stat). Recovery is mix of D3's cc reducing stat and D2's faster hit recovery (in D2 FHR helps characters recover their balance quickly after been struck).
    - Lethality - It is the opposite of recovery - striking an opponent will thow them off balance making them recover slower from the attack.
Melee characters might need good amount of those stats if they want to stand toe to toe with some nasty melee monster pack.

    *Dodge - Precision
    - Dodge - Everyone knows what it does.
    - Precision - New stat that counter dodge, good way to hit monk or demon hunter or annoying agile boss.

*Crushing Blow - Armor - Block
    - Armor and block - Already known
    - Crushing blow - Staking this stat improve the chance of scoring such blow, the blow bypass any block and X% of enemy armor. Very good versus super tanky player or inpenetrable monster.

    * Life regeneration - Open wound - Prevenets enemy healing
    - Life regeneration - Already known
    - Open wound - Chance to apply damage over time when striking an enemy
    - Prevent enemy healing - That can be interesting for both PvP and PvM

*Cold damage - Cold Resist - Cannot Be Frozen
    - Cold damage - Have additional effect - freeze/slow enemy for 10 seconds.
    - Cold Resist - Also reduce the duration of freeze.
    - Cannot be frozen - Immune freeze.

*Fire Damage - Fire Resist - Cannot be Burned
    - Fire Damage - Additionally make enemy burn for 10 seconds causing them to take extra damage
    - Fire Resist - Reduces the duration
    - Cannot be burned - No burn duration.

I am lazy to write about the other types of damage but you get the idea :P

Weapon range - Weapon splash - Weapon speed
Those effect are base to the type of weapon players want to use.
Some weapons have bigger range, some have extra splash damage - it is an interesting mechnic that ask players to decide whatever they want, the far striking weapon, the extra splash weapon or the pure DPS weapon.

Before such idea can be implemented a hit detection issue needs to be fixed: here some videos i found for those who do not know what i am talking about: Youtube link1 Youtube link2 you can clearly see it is not caused by lag but rather by design.

I can give many more examples of interesting stats for items but i believe by now everyone gets the point i am trying to make. Hopefully blizzard still stand by their saying "easy to learn, difficult to master" and offer us endgame that promotes choices and rewards creativity :) .

I'd put money down Bards can use 2 two-handed weapons in RoS.

Maybe crusaders get 2h swords and flails and barb get 2h axes and maces
