where did you find that deal? and I noticed it was GT instead of the GTX.. but if its playing skyrim at medium high..thats not to bad at all.

Yeah, that can be really confusing with a single letter between high end desktop card and medium-low laptop videocard. Especially when, like me your not a pro when comes to computer, and some store "ommit" the letter.

I've been in the same dilemma few weeks ago and I finally bought this one for 680$CAN :
    K53SV-XP1 w/ Core i5-2410M, 4GB, 640GB, DVD+/-RW, 15.6in LED HD, GeForce GT 540M, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit

I'm not hardcore gamer and dont really care for the graphic. But I do run Skyrim at medium-high and so far I'm really please with my new laptop. If I remember correctly I saw the same laptop with 17" and 6gig ram for around 800$.

    I have :

    athlon x2 dual core ql-62 2ghz
    ATI Radeon 3100
    4 gig ram

I think I can barelly run the game...but do I need to worry if I buy a new laptop of around 600$CAN ?

    like a :
    2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-2410M processor 2.30 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 2.90 GHz
4GB Shared Single Channel DDR3 Memory
    AMD Radeon™ HD 6470M (64-bit) 512MB (Dual)

Because if I compare the benchmark of the minimum spec with the i5, the processor is way better but the graphic card is lower.

You guys have any suggestion for a laptop of around 600$CAN
