posted a message on Already a powerleveling guide out there?
I didn't look at the link, but any guide besides the official BradyGames guide that has to do with things beyond the beta (except for things that can be datamined) is a fake or is just copying things from the official guide.

    Quote from underwriter

does collectors edition mean it is also a limited edition? or will blizzard continue to produce them? i see blizz is still selling sc2 collector's editions on amazon for 150

Blizzard doesn't produce more CEs after a game launches as far as I know. However, not every store sells out and some stores may hold some off seperate from their preorders to sell after launch. Diablo III's CE is popular enough it likely won't last on the shelves/in inventory like some other Blizzard games have.

Then how come so many people got theirs? It seems everyone else except me got their physical copy!

    Shipments from Amazon.

You mean shipments from pretty much everyone except the North American branch of Amazon. So far there's no signs they're shipping before the 15th if you're not getting Release Date shipping, and if you are they're liking shipping the 14th.

Unless Amazon ships today, despite what the site estimates delievery, there's pretty much no chance I'll be able to play when the servers go up. Even if I was able to, I doubt I would as I'm on the east coast and I'd rather sleep (at least if I'm able to) and get up a few hours later fully refreshed and ready for a full day. If Amazon's site is correct, I won't be playing until the 17th, likely late in the day as the vast majority of UPS delievers here come a little after 6pm.

posted a message on (Spoiler) Diablo III - Boss Health and Information
I don't remember which video it was, but I remember seeing the level 60 requirement for Inferno as well, although I can't remember if I saw the other difficulties mentioned or not from an official source.

    Quote from KageKaze

EDIT: logic tells me these numbers are pretty much made up as CMs have stated that Normal will end around level 28-30, meaning you can be in nightmare before 30, there is no level requirement per difficulty level.

The CMs saying Normal ends around level 28-30 has nothing to do with Nightmare unlocking. It's possible that Nightmare could unlock at level 30 but if you rush through Normal you could finish it at level 28, meaning you have 2 more levels to grind out before getting access to Nightmare. It might not have a level requirement, but that's outside the scope of that statement.

    [Edit]
I took a quick look at the strategy guide, and for difficulty levels it doesn't list level requirements for them, but it does seem to suggest that you need to hit level 60 in Hell before you can access Inferno. It's possible it's just poor wording on their part though.

posted a message on Woot. Got my strategy guide
I got mine (normal version) from Amazon today as well, although I don't plan on posting pictures since I think people should support BradyGames if they want to see things from the guide.

It does seem like it might've been a mistake on Amazon's part to ship them as now the site lists it as a pre-order with May 15th as the release date. Gamestop.com is still seems to be selling them, although Amazon is quite a bit cheaper for the normal edition. No idea if retail stores are selling them or not yet, although I'd guess Gamestops probably are if the website is.

posted a message on Would you consider quitting D3,
I won't be quitting Diablo 3 completely regardless of what else comes out for likely at least a few years. Since there's no subscription fee for Diablo 3 its easy to keep playing it even if I spend time in another game. I doubt I'll be playing the new Blizzard MMO though, unless it turns out to be similar to Guild Wars 2 with the dynamic events instead of traditional quests and more action oriented gameplay, but better. For the time being, I think D3 and GW2 will last me many years.

posted a message on Amazon - What's your Delivery Status say?
It's showing 5/17 for me with 1 day shipping selected. I originally had 5/15 with release date shipping, but since I moved after preordering it forced me to change my shipping option when I changed my shipping info, and since it was sold out, release date shipping was no longer an option. I keep checking for the CE to be available so I can update my shipping info, but I haven't had any luck timing it right for the last month or so.

I don't understand why it's showing the 17th and not 16th, as I've ordered from Amazon before with 1 day shipping and it's always arrived the next day.

posted a message on 'Condemned' as possible XPac Class
    Quote from Keiser

They're not 50/50 angel/demon hybrids, they're thousands of generations down an evolutionary path, so they're not angel/demons, they're human.

Unless you're claiming we're basically fish.

The Nephalem are the Humans of Sanctuary. The only effect of evolution over time that we know of in Sanctuary is that Nephalem past the first generation grew weaker and weaker due to the Worldstone. Since all Humans were hybrids, even if they have evolved in some way, at their core they are still likely Nephalem, even if they have no power.

I don't think the OP's story would fit the lore as the Angels would have no reason to trust a Demon, no matter how desperate or whatever it is, and after the creation of the Nephalem, I doubt they'd even consider an alliance. Instead, the same resource system in the OP could be used for an "Awakened" class, born after the destruction of the Worldstone, who have access to a portion of the power the Nephalem originally had that had been lost over the generations from the Worldstone's curse. Being a hybrid would explain why they have angelic and demonic powers, and not having access to the full power of a Nephalem could be why they have to balance the two resources.

Is changing display name still possible? I can't find "Display Name" on the "Edit my Profile" pages and using Google I came across a link to do it, but the page said I didn't have permission to change my display name. I haven't changed my display name previously, so it's not because of the 30 day limit.

posted a message on Followers into Inferno now?
    Quote from Hans
I think it will be easier to make them survive Infernal than it is to make them kill.

This is a little old so it might've changed, but Bashiok said this about Followers:

Followers will not stay alive easily past Normal, and if they're not alive you aren't going to be getting their bonuses. I'm sure people will try to game this, and ideally they will fail. If not we will ensure followers are not part of the end-game MF equation. They are not intended to be, and we will take whatever steps are necessary to ensure they cannot be.

posted a message on 1 month after Release - Empty normal rooms
I really doubt it'll be a problem. In addition to what others have said, Blizzard mentioned that at some point in the future they want to add the option to sell characters on the RMAH. While I don't know how well that'll end up working out, I'm sure that will be enough of a reason to get some people to play new characters. With people being able to sell characters some could end up playing many more characters than the 10 slots we'll have.

This isnt really related to topic but this must be an easter egg

    Shenlong's Defense (set)
shenlong is a dragon from dragon ball :D

I doubt it's an easter egg or fake. A lot from Dragon Ball was taken from various mythologies.

Shenlong, also Shen-lung, (simplified Chinese: 神龙; traditional Chinese: 神龍; pinyin: shén lóng, literally "spirit dragon", Japanese: 神竜 Shinryū) is a spiritual dragon from Chinese mythology who is the master of storms and also a bringer of rain.

posted a message on Strongest class in the streams, your opinion.
With not so good gear, the Witch Doctor appeared to be the strongest to me overall. The dogs seem pretty strong and their other abilities seem to be pretty good for their cost. The Wizard seems to have by far the best AoE burst damage, but the cool down on Wave of Force keeps it from being too strong IMO.

When it comes to good gear, particularly a strong weapon, it seems like it'll be a lot harder to tell. Theres some videos and such showing Barbs with a good two hander being really powerful, but that might be the case for any class if they were to find a similar weapon. Bonus damage seems to be a big factor in a weapon's DPS, at least at this early point in the game. Although I'm not sure how bonus damage works for casters in D3.

I know Wizard and WD both can get +X% damage on their weapons, but early on that probably isn't going to account for much damage. If bonus damage, such as +X-Y fire damage works for casters it'll probably be pretty balanced, but if not, there could possibly be a pretty big discrepancy between caster and physical classes early on, until damage modifier %s get to be large enough to be equal to or better than a static bonus.

The DH does seem a bit weak compared to the other classes from the few videos/streams I've looked at so far. I don't think I've seen one with a good weapon yet, so that might be why, but they don't seem to have a lot of base power and their lower abilities don't seem as impressive as what Barbs and Monks have access to. I think it's partly due to the dual resource system as well since it'll probably be more useful with more ability slots and access to more abilities for both resource types.

posted a message on Length concern (semi-spoiler)
It's hard to say what length will be like as they could more distance between waypoints as you progress through the game. Length can also be deceiving depending on how the content is set up. Such as multiple dungeons connecting to a central area might only have one wp but could have pretty much any amount of content connected.

Challenge and enemy density can have an impact as well, making it take longer to get through an area, so a smaller area could take as long or longer to go through as a large one.

If it really is 1/3rd of Act 1 or even half of Act 1, it'll likely be larger than Act 1 was in Diablo 2.

posted a message on Please Help Me (beta wont download)
It might still be possible to play without a supported video card. Unless they program it to not load for unsupported cards you can usually still get a game to run, it just won't run well in most cases. I'm not familiar with laptop video cards, but if it's close in power to the lower end recommended cards the game will likely be at least somewhat playable on the lowest settings.

For laptops, unless you get a high end video card in it, it won't have a long life as a gaming computer. I could be mistaken, but I don't think yours falls under that as those types of laptop video cards from what I've seen use the same/similar naming patterns as standard PC video cards.
