posted a message on Losing interest...
I'm interested, but I'm not checking my account daily for Beta access. I'm sure as we get closer to release that I'll get diablo fever once again. My interest has definitely decreased over the last 2 months.

After a while of hammering F5 I had to just close the BNet page. It was driving me crazy :P So I've decided unless I get the Email I won't go to my BNet profile page.

Any similar people out there? (Tell me I'm not the only one!)

Check it once at day at 5pm at GMT-8, maybe an additional check at noon, any more than that is a waste of bandwidth. You're not going to be there the second it happens.

    Challenge accepted :P

posted a message on More accounts getting flagged, apparently
Didn't press/media people have to opt-in as well? There were multiple tweets from various press members saying they needed to opt-in if I remember correctly. So, going off of that, people who have opted in have been invited, so the beta has officially begun. People are playing it. Whether they are from the press or not is irrelevant, they opted in and received an invite. You are just upset because you aren't playing.

Remember what the point of a beta is, which is not for everyone to get on and have a sneak peek of Diablo 3 It's to find bugs, glitches, fix balance issues, test server strength, matchmaking, and any other possible thing that they need to test. It's not your beta, it's theirs. You don't get to decide when it's time to send invites, it's up to whenever they're ready to test the servers. I think you just need to step back from the D3 vids and relax. Spamming f5 day and night won't bring you a key faster, and neither will complaining about how ridiculous it is that you haven't received your key yet.

posted a message on Lack of creativity?
    Quote from Kanhe

I just had a quick look through weapons on diablo3.com website... And I'm very disappointed.

Don't get me wrong, weapons look amazing, but... Why those low lvl ones, the ones you'll be using for few minutes at most are so much cooler looking then the ones you'll be using for weeks, if not months?

Check this out, low lvl weapons, pretty amazing, easily recognizable.

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/mighty-weapon-2h/#page=1

And then go to page #2 and you'll notice that most of those legendary ones are copys of the lowest lvl weapon on page #1.

Huh? Lack of creativity? It seems like after some point designers just run out of cool ideas and then do whatever...

I've noticed it in quite a few MMO's, like Lineage2 or WoW... Cool stuff at the very beginning, but you wont use it a lot.. And then the most awesome stuff, that you're stuck with for longest, looks like shit...

    What's your opinion, guys?

Already a thread on this, but I think they're just placeholders, either until they put the real ones in place at a later date, or until the game comes out so they don't spoil it before release.

posted a message on Repeating rare monster names?
Happened in D2 all the time. I remember puke coming up many many times. I love the randomness of the names and how occasionally you'll get something like puke fiend the sick and other such silly names. On the other hand, I rarely focus on the names. I usually see them out of the corner of my eye and 90% of the names I don't remember, unless it's something funny or weird. I'll kill it, no matter what it's called. I could really care less.

    Quote from Jeeonta

I prefer this one. The ghostly feel is improved IMO and there's no abuse of teal.

It looks too white now. The whiteness doesn't fit with the rest of the scene, and they would have to change the whole dungeon just to match that one character. I think the teal resonates well with the creepy/sewer-y feel of the tomb and with the dead guy who lives in said tomb. Plus, white is boring.

    No.

    Stop trying.

    Sorry.

    You'll need a better card/system.
Kinda stupid considering my computer is only 3 years old.
With computers, 3 years is a long time. The top of the line tech from today will be the standard or the bottom tier of computers in 3 years. It's just how these things work. It's also why I play consoles more than PC games. I don't want to upgrade my machine to play the latest game.

posted a message on D3 Console Version = Nintendo Wii?
    Quote from Jabberwocked

Did any of you play torchlight on the xbox360? how did that work and will it work for diablo?

I played it and loved it. It actually got me back into Diablo 2 again. If Blizzard were to copy the controls of Torchlight in the console Diablo 3, it would be epic. For those who haven't played Torchlight yet, go download the demo on XBL right now. It's way fun!

As for the whole D3 on Wii thing, the Wiimote isn't accurate enough. It's one thing to sit and point at your screen from a foot away, but can you imagine trying to navigate menus or rearrange your gems in the stash from 10 feet away? It sounds not fun to me. I'd stick with PS3 and 360 with the controller, a la Torchlight.

posted a message on Gold Sharing Question #2
    Quote from jordon3211

    Quote from froshambo

Keep in mind that Blizzard is planning to have more ways for gold to leave the system than there were in Diablo 2. Artisans will be a big part of that, I think. The cost of services at a high level will likely be pretty steep. Additionally, the AH will be there, and you're going to want to buy either directly or indirectly for gold.

I think we need to be careful not to assume that everyone with a level 60 character is going to be walking around with more gold than they know what to do with.
You make a good point, just think though, The gold of a high level character is obviously worth more to a low level. you'll still have more than any low lvl could make, whether you can spare it or not.

I don't think that gold will drop in the same quantity of Diablo 2. Remember getting 6-10k on each member of the council? I doubt that'll happen often if at all in Diablo 3. Gold is exponentially more valuable and useful in that you need it for crafting and the AH and probably other things in game as well.
