posted a message on Name change to match twitch account

My Twitch username was different from my Diablo Fans username. I have successfully merged accounts, and when I go into settings and accounts it does show my twitch account, but on THIS site, it still shows me the Diablo Fans name.

I don't have any proof but here's a theory. The people that raced to 60 and Inferno and would willingly spend millions of gold have already got their gear, or quit the game. The more casual players that are making it to Inferno don't even look at items that cost a million gold or more (I'm probably in this category, I've never paid more than 300k for any one item). Then there's the third category of people that would normally spend lots of gold on the AH, but aren't particularly good players, so they're spending their gold on repairs rather than on the AH.

I think that the market is primed for a deflation and that prices that people actually pay are going to drop significantly. Now there are people that absolutely refuse to sell that "godly" piece for less than multi-millions, but they're going to end up reposting it for weeks if not months til they find someone willing to buy it.

Then just play act 4 again and again. It will also gear you up for inferno.

    [snip]

I play this game for personal enjoyment, so if it were an upgrade I'd use it. As far as if I were to sell it... I'm not entirely sure, on the current market it would be worth multi-millions, but the current market is over-inflated. I have not spent more than 20,000 on any one item.

at the start of your games. I had to do that kind of thing in wow to make sure I wouldn't say something appropriate to officers in my guild accidentally to open guild chat.

Blizzard has said that they're not currently allowing UI modifications (as opposed to WoW, where they not only allow it, but encourage it). You are using 3rd-party software to make adjustments to the game, something explicitly forbidden, but then get ready to rage quit if Blizzard comes down on you for something they explicitly said you shouldn't do.

That's like speeding down the road and making threats if a cop dared to pull you over. Sure you may be only going over the speed limit a few MPH, but those cops shouldn't enforce it!

    True.

But then, getting a virus on your computer becomes that much more of a problem.

Why is it a problem? My passwords are stored out on the internet and I can access them by anything with access to the web. If my computer dies, I haven't lost them.

Tell me... oh random person on the internet with perfect security knowledge and insight into Blizzard's systems.... what the REAL reason is?

Oh it's this site? What a let down.

Oh a serious note, if you use LastPass (free for desktop, $1 a month to use it on mobile devices) you can have high entropy, lengthy, random passwords that are unique to every site you visit and you don't need to worry about one site's login compromising another's.

posted a message on Finally got my refund!

When the servers are stable, that is when Blizzard draws the line.
That is the only line that matters.

Well you know, with people huffing and puffing that they're quitting or getting refunds and the like, it just means the rest of us that actually enjoy the game will have greater and greater server stability.

    posted a message on Izual
You know it's funny, I probably died 10-15 times on Izual on normal, but never had an issue with him ever again. In fact I think I killed Diablo easier than I did Izual. I ended up having to change my build to something specifically designed to fight him and I would just run around kiting him around the little circles til he died.

It wasn't the best build but I think I eventually killed him with something like: http://us.battle.net...YXQS!aZb!aZZaZa

or something similar. My problem would be that I could get him to about 25% health no problem, then I'd get caught in a freezing thing and then either he'd catch up and kill me or I'd be killed by his minions. I just basically changed my tactic from trying to kill him to survival first, doing dps second.

When I fought him on later difficulties I had venom hydra and he was a pushover.

posted a message on Are people refusing to buy authenticators?
    Quote from Tiths

I have a feeling that even if Blizz were to give away authenticators with their games and eat the cost for them there would be a huge outrage of people whining about how "it takes too much time to put in the code." "this is dumb" "why should I have to use this? Blizz your security sucks." etc.

No you're absolutely right. When I made my guild all have authenticators, even after I posted a way they could get one free without needing a smart phone or any financial investment of any kind, I still had a hunter that steadfastly refused to get one under any circumstances. "I don't care how easy it is, I'm never going to get one." I also had people outright turn my guild down because I required them, saying that they would just go find anther group that didn't care. It doesn't matter how good the security solution is, or whether its free, or anything. Some people are just going to refuse to have any added security, but want to hold Blizzard responsible if their account gets compromised.
