Reading this post has made me arrive at one very critical conclusion:

    God I'm old...

If it only lets you abuse a single Act I quest in normal difficulty, I hardly think it will be game breaking, but they really need to look into the quest/waypoint system, or I'm sure additional abuses will be discovered soon. I certainly think this is an exploit, which Blizzard has stated they are against, but I'm not sure there is a simple solution. Woo more delays!

So what was the other cinematic then I wonder? Where does it come during the game? Somewhere in Act I I suppose?

posted a message on Beta download question.
Leveling to 13 in 8 levels of content is a pain. I mean, it can take upwards of 2 hours if you're efficient, or you might even push 3 hours if you take a nap in town, feed the baby, listen to all the lore, try to poke cows, etc.

I'm not sure, but watching a couple of Beta feeds it appears you can, or could, use this in softcore to beat anything. When the player dies you just let your follower keep getting back up until he kills whatever you were fighting. I'm not 100% sure this is actually how it works as I can't test it myself, but it appears that way to me.

Obviously, in Hardcore, this won't be an issue.

posted a message on Do you miss runewords?
I think once we're all using the crafting system and are getting decent items and really getting involved trading them on he auction houses, we'll forget all about runewords. We'll also all be very glad that there aren't absolutely balance destroying items popping up everywhere. And since Blizzard is wanting us to have variety in our builds, I don't think every single player having the Templar with the equivelent of Infinity or what have you makes any sense at all.

I think they have learned their lessons and the new system will be better, not perfect mind you, but better.

No, not at all, new patch means they are ready to test the downloader again, they will want new people. Plus we have people who will be sick of playing and with their characters gone, even with new systems they wont want to play.

I'm sure we will be seeing a new wave for sure, the size of such, who knows.

Yeah, I can see it being frustrating to have your character wiped and have to do everything again. Unless they add some new content or something. Still the huge changes to some of the classes will probably make them play almost like new, so I guess we'll see!

Ummhuh atleast you got to play some? I'm happy for you...lol

Well, it's like meeting Megan Fox, convincing her to come back to your hotel room, and then JUST as you're about to tap--BLAM! Your room is invaded by killbots.

I fail to see why being rescued from the clutches of Megan Fox by killbots is a fail.

Anyways, that's still more Beta than most of us have played, but I feel your pain, sometimes a taste makes it worse to have to wait for more.

posted a message on What are the base attributes for each class?
    Quote from Astion

Keep in mind, these numbers are nothing compared to what items will have on 60. Seeing an item on lvl 13 could have an easy 50 attack.

To estimate: Fully equipped with endgame gear the base stats would account for 5-10% of your stats. I wouldn't be surprised if its less.

So these base stats are just 'for show' and do not really differentiate the classes from each other, nor do they add much to the game. I doubt you'll feel more powerful when adding +2 attack each level...

I mostly agree with this, I don't think that those stats are high enough to be the majority of the stats you have at high levels. On the other hand though, we don't really know exactly how that's going to balance yet, so the differences between the classes could still wind up making some difference, but there's absolutely no reason to pick a class based on its attribute selection.

The question is going to be, is a 25-40% increase in gold going to really be worth trading in an entire skill slot for? There's no damage or combat utility, SOLELY a gold benefit, I would think if a DH can survive in hell with only 5 skills and doesn't need the sixth, that's not a good thing, that's a sign they need to be rebalanced. At least unless every class can take a skill like this.

do arrows stick and stay in the enemy??

Not that I've seen in any of the videos. So I'm going to guess that they do not. Maybe with some arrow spells there might be a death animation that involves an arrow sticking out or something, but beyond that, no.

At least I didn't see anything about maintenance this Tuesday being a sign of a patch!

I too would like to hear some kind of official news. Even if it is something like "we forgot to pay the electric bill last month so we couldn't get any work done, but now we're back and will hopefully have a new patch out soon"

OK, so maybe that wouldn't be very good news...

I will fill any stash they give me, unless it's unlimited. Then I'll have to get a second account after filling all the mules

Given the relative size of the stash compared to character inventories, I'm not sure that muling will be as much use as it was in Diablo 2, but certainly if you want to use an entire account worth of slots, that will get you a good bit of storage. Man, that would be such a pain to keep track of though, you'd have to start having a database as to where different items are, or just have specific characters for specific things.

Blah. Sounds too much like work.

I hope this method works as well as they say it does. If they can make it where items drop, as based on something involving danger, time involved and attention you have to pay, within 10% or so of each other, that's fine by me. If they make any place hugely better or worse, that's a problem, but if it's close, I'll go where it's the most fun, which is what their goal is anyways right?

Well, it's almost November now, so keep in mind that each passing month you don't get into the Beta is another month closer to the actual release. It could be as soon as 2 months from now. Maybe that will put a smile on your lips! OK, maybe not...put that down...not the cheesemaker! erggbbllee......

No, I didn't get in either...
