Also, these trailers are from mid-1996n NOT 1995. Cinicraft is very bad at dating trailers.Quote from BandytoOld news are old. This has been posted many times before. (I am talking about the thread, not the videos.)

Posted in: Diablo I & HellfireQuote from RadacciD3 is so bright and colorful, unlike D1 and D2!
not -.- look at those mobs glowing like neon signs!
anyways, fun pics thought it would be uglier, but it's not to far from D2.
i think i played D1 back in 95, dont remember...must have been when my brother borrowed comp from a friend. i played like crazy ^^ we didnt get a comp until 97-98.
You played it in October 1996, not earlier. That was when you could buy November issues of magazines that featured the pre release demo from August. The Beta came out in November, the retail version in late December.
Quote from PhrozenDragonThis is some pretty cool stuff. We should upload the ones we don't have to the wiki
That would be about 150 pics
I updated the gallery. I added one alpha 1 shot, one alpha 2 shot and a bunch of misc and official fake shots. I also added some rendered images.

I don't care in which language they are, I know enough people who can translate french for me.
-> Found a new old Diablo ad, will add it to the bottom of the page in a few minutes.

Do you still have the magazines?

While gathering Diablo prerelease screenshots for my gallery, I also found many pieces of concept art and renders of Diablo.Posted in: Diablo I & Hellfire
Since this is a Diablo forum, I guess many of you are interested in that material and maybe somebody can contribute something to expand the gallery.
The order of the gallery is like this:
-Renders and some animations (From websites of publishers, blizzard and magazines, print magazines, manual and three renders from a fansite)
-Concept art (From manual, strategy guide, blizzard website)
-"Alpha 1 Shots" (including one Hellfire fakeshot)
-"Alpha 2 Shots"
-"Alpha 3 'red' Shots"
-"Alpha 3 'golden' shots"
-Shots that are most likely from "Alpha 1" and many fakeshots Blizzard published
-Beta and internal Beta shots
-Ads and promo stuff

"That guy" is Bill Roper :D
btw: Cinicraft named the video wrong, the presentation is from mid 1996 and not 1995.
The original presentation from november 1995 or so is this one:
It's the one that was posted here:

You mean that one?
Btw, soon a new version of the Alpha 4 (an early Diabo version based on the prerelease demo, the beta and hard work) will be released, with many new features.

Posted in: Diablo I & HellfireQuote from soulzekAwesome find!
And regarding the quote about Starcraft, that was back in the early days of its development where it looked exactly like Warcraft II and people dubbed it "Orcs in space". It was harshly received until it changed.
Yep as far as I know, the "Orcs in space" or sometimes "Warcraft in space" was at E3 1996. BUT I still think it might also have been at Winter CES 1995, even though the old Blizzard news say something else. (A hint is, that Bob Fitch said "We took it to a Consumer Electronics Show [...]")
Since you liked the video, you might also like my gallery:
I created it together with Mystery, the guy from Diablo-Evolution. Expect an update of his site, soon (Blizzard's definition of soon )

Mystery sent me a video the other day, that he found on one of his old CDs. It shows Diablo at E3 1996, so around May 16th 1996. Right now it's the earlierst gameplay video of Diablo that we know.Posted in: Diablo I & Hellfire
In an article by Gamespot some more details about Diablo at E3 are mentioned:
At the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 1996, Blizzard was thought to be the developer to beat, especially given Warcraft II's huge success and the buzz around Diablo. E3 that year would also mark the public debut of Starcraft and the announcement that Diablo would include a free Internet gameplay service dubbed Battle.net. At the show, Blizzard had six monitors set up, three for Diablo and three for Starcraft. Unfortunately for Blizzard, the reaction to Starcraft was tepid at best. "By the last day of the show," remembers Dave Brevik, "I think Diablo was up on five monitors, and they had reduced Starcraft to one lone monitor."
