Poli posted a message on Blizzard owes you nothingI read these forums from time to time, as they are in reference to a game I am looking forward to playing. I am amazed at how some people think Blizzard owes you ANYTHING in regards to updates, release date, or whatever. Blizzard is doing a courtesy by telling us anything about the game they are developing. Hell, they didnt even have to announce they were making it! Granted, not having an announcement, or updates would hurt the final sales. But seriously folks. Step away from the ledge, let this VERY successful gaming company finish THEIR game like THEY want it, and then they will release it. They were within any right to just tell us in 2008 they were making Diablo 3, and then hear nothing until release date. There are too many posts about "If Blizzard doesnt announce the release date next week, Im done with this game!" Meaningless threats, as you know damn well you will still play the game, and its not like your post is going to make them hurry along any faster =) Does it suck it was "delayed" from their initial release date? Sure. Maybe you were better off never hearing of an initial release date, otherwise you wouldnt be whining about it taking so long, you wouldnt have known any better. Go out, have some dates, enjoy life for a few more months....from the sounds of it Diablo will be enveloping the vast majority of your life soon to come..Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

Armada posted a message on A Zombie's Struggle with Flight and PhysicsHappy new year's everyone!Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I'm really excited about 2012 as Diablo III will come out soon (kind of) and I'll continue to be hard at work running my D3 team as well as playing and producing content like this (as well as more educational content) for the foreseeable future.
It's been a great experience putting my team's website and everything else together to prepare for release and I can't wait to see how it all turns out for release and afterwards.
This video started out as just demonstrating the physics of some of the barbarian skills but evolved into what you see here.
I totally swear that isn't me singing......
or is it...?
Hope you like it!

OmniNom posted a message on Development and DelaysEveryone and their dog keeps making posts about Blizzard delaying release of Diablo for financial reasons. I'm going to ignore all the reasons that this idea is ridiculous.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
AFTER listing them.
1.)Delaying past Christmas misses the biggest sales period of the year, which will surely lose them hundreds of thousands of sales
2.)Continuing production means paying all the developers working on it for that much longer, further decreasing the net profit
3.)The beta still has plenty of bugs, battlenet features are unfinished, and the runes system is still being fooled around with, so clearly it's not ready for release
4.)Delaying release makes stockholders nervous, and since information given to them is public, we know what they know, and they have been notified of no sinister delay conspiracy. So Blizzard would be devaluing its own stock.
5.)It's fucking Blizzard. Since when are long development cycles unusual?
But we're ignoring this, because the most ridiculous part isn't all the very obvious reasons why the idea is insane. The most ridiculous part is the fact that some people think that their own personal convenience means more than the budgets and development cycles and physical health of the development team.
People working on Diablo 3 have been in crunch time (60+ hour weeks) for something like eight months. The company has sank millions of dollars into the project. The development team has spent 5+ years of their lives putting their blood, sweat, and tears into the game.
But your own impatience overrules all objections. The game should be released NOW, because you're tired of waiting. It's not like there are any other things in your entire life you could be doing.
If that doesn't sound not only absurd, but incredibly callous, then you have some life issues to work out. -

Azjenco posted a message on Rare and Champion Loot > Boss LootI think it's good, but, and this is a HUGE but (I know, that sounds very funny when you say it out loud :P).Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I think the best drops in the game should be when you kill a boss for the first time. In fact, it should be twice as good as unique/champion drops. Afterwards it should be on par or less than unique/champions.
The reason why I say this is, the first time I kill an act boss, I want it to be difficult and I want to feel rewarded for completing a milestone like that, I feel it's very important. If you go and kill a boss the second time, then your just farming it, so then the loot deserves to be crappy. -

In this iteration, you can see how it looks as the masthead for diablofans.com - it's a quick hack, but conveys the idea well enough.

SemperHi posted a message on An organized Image Compilation of all sets of armor for all the five classes [17 tiers and spoilerish] EDIT: Wizard helms includHey everyone, I took some of the leaked datamined item pictures posted on a Diablo fansite, and organized them to take a peek at how our characters will look like as the progress through the game. I think it came out pretty nicely, so much in fact, that I created an account (finally) to share it with you guys.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Sadly, I couldn't find any files with the Wizard helms, and I did not include itens with shared appearence such as rings, bracers and so forth. Also there appear to be class specific armor such as belts and helms which I couldn't find for all 5 classes so I excluded them as well.
On a side note, all the itens listed below are in their male version ATM.
You can check them out on the following links:
Barbarian:
1-9
10-17
Demon Hunter:

10-17
Monk:
1-9
10-17
Witch Doctor:
1-9
10-17
Wizard:

10-17
What do you think? Which tier &/or class did you like the most?
EDIT: Wizard helms are now shown! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

So unless you can have some great theory why these things on the list wont work, /thread

The rest makes sense, but I'm sure there are builds where FOUR (4) damage dealer spell makes sense as well, due to rune effects.

It's fine if you like exploration, but if it was intented to be a lore video as well, then Force should be patient, turn the sound the effects down, don't engage mobs while the lore is going and shut the fuck up. Lores in the second vid were not even opened, let alone listened.
I dont care about exploration in itself, seen enough of that. But with lore inserted, it could've been a good video series. Sad panda.

Replayability: So, not counting different genders, if you play all classes on SC and HC, thats 10 chars (which is the character limit). Normally that would be 30 run through the story, but since inferno was introduced, that became 40. Is it interesting, to grind through the story for a 41st time just for a different build? Not for me. Especially because I spent so much time on gearing the other 10 chars. If you want to replay the game one more time: DELETE YOUR F*CKING CHAR AND THERE YOU HAVE IT!
Access to all skills: No one's stopping you, from being a sadist and creating skill trees for yourself, but spare me plz. Skill-trees kill spell synergies and builds you might not find, if your're forced to the same build. Skill trees create uninnovative builds, because if you go with one line, you're forced, to select those few skills. Also, certain things, like fire damage wizzard might become uneffective at some parts of the game, because fire resistant mobs. Yes, we can have respecs, but what's the difference then? It would only cost gold, and maybe some mats and our time that we could spend on slaying Diablo...
Connection with a character: I will not get connected to my char, because I place some points in this and that but because I played with him/her for a long time, and I had fun. If I play for like 8 months with my DH called Buttsex, and I'd like to try out something new, then I dont have to create Analintruder, and thats good, because Buttsex has already taken a place in my heart.
Skill points: If you don't want freedom, break your left hand, and play only with mouse, but dont force me to play with only a few skills. Oh, and blizzard plans to put minutes long CD on the strongest skills, so I'll definitely use some low end skills, just so I don't have to autoatack. Also, Blizz can create more tricky monsters, especially bosses, because if you die, you swap some skills, and thake another shot with that.
Swapping any time: I can agree with this to a certain degree, that waiting for others, to swap their skills might be boring, but is this better? :OH wait, I need to go back to town, because I got a new skill *1minute later* Re, oh balls , this skill is crap, I gotta go back and respec *5 minutes later* s/he comes back. Great stuff isn't it? Since you CAN use 6 skills, I think later on we only need to swap 1 or 2 skils before a boss fight (if we need to swap at all), because the 6 skill in our build will be runed, therefore better than others.
Gameplay after we finished Inferno (you didn't mention this, but I think I should): There are always more gearing to do, arena and achievements, so you definitely wont get bored. I don't think we need another playthrough with the same class.
Feel free to react and hate me, but this is how I see the whole thing.
PS: I dont think that a "skill-tree, skill point" Diablo would be bad, but I personally feel, that this is way more better.
