I agree add even more speed.

For multi socket items you can imagine how this skill could be amazing
increased speed plus life steal plus ice+freeze would be my choice of 3 was max sockets, but 1 will probably be it for the good stuff... speed is the one

I thought it would be fun to brainstorm and share ideas of rune effects for various skills. I will start the DiabloWiki.com - Monk Monk with Seven-Sided Strike:
Unleashes a fury of attacks, striking nearby enemies multiple times, dealing a percentage weapon damage for each hit.

Crimson = fire for most, could be LIFE STEAL too! The crimson runestone gives the monk a thirst for blood, stealing life from his enemies with every strike. my favorite part of D2 is LL. used to uber with fury druid solo easy.

Indigo = ice damage and freezes target (so useful). The indigo runestone puts an icy chill in the monk's heart where it extends into his weapon, doing ice damage and freezing targets. Death animation for frozen targets could be nice.

Obsidian = black volcanic glass, sharper than any blade made by man affixed to the top of his weapon... increased damage or critical strike chance increase by 25-50% ... are they keeping open wounds? crushing blow?

Golden = increased damage to undead and knocks back or stuns demons. The golden tip of his rod is embued with the holy power of gold, doing increased damage to undead, but because gold is forged in the fires of earth, demons are not damaged, only stunned or knocked back, whatever.

Alabaster = Mana steal or INCREASED SPEED which would be sweet. The white aura of the alabaster focuses his holy power and allows him to perform the skill much faster.

    Other ideas:
    Increases defense while attacking
    lightning damage
    poison damage

    Nerdy lore added for effect

You have to remember not all classes use mana matter of fact only one does.
You're right i forgot. good thing i didnt waste any imagination or serious thought on that one! increased speed is way better anyway

    Quote from ScyberDragon

I thought it would be fun to brainstorm and share ideas of rune effects for various skills. I will start the DiabloWiki.com - Barbarian Barbarian off with Leap Attack:
The Barbarian makes a mighty leap, causing a percentage weapon damage to all nearby enemies upon landing.

Crimson = Fills the barbarian's eyes with rage, increasing damage of his/her attack or my favorite Fills the barbarians heart with the thirst for blood, STEALING LIFE from his target.

Indigo = An icey coating extending from the barbarian's weapons around his arms freezes target(s) and does a ring of ice damage on impact. Or barbarian senses the magical energy in his opponent in air and steals mana with his strike.

Obsidian = black volcanic glass sharper than any blade affixed to the tip of his weapon so, Critical hit or increased damage or open wounds if still going

Gold = embued with the grandure of kings, stuns target and releases ring of knockback over a 5 foot radius

Alabaster = Focuses the barbarian's instincts during leap so that he finds the optimum striking point to increase area of effect. or. On his ascent he attracts the energy of a lightning strike with his weapon over his head and delivers it to the enemy's face with increased lightning damage. face or wherever

posted a message on Soulbinding Idea
    Quote from lgtcount

No you don't get the item and it's already soulbound. No items will ever be like that, and you would always be able to equip items and use them without soulbinding. But if you DO choose to soulbind it to your character/account, then the armor gets some bonuses. Nothing huge, but still substantial.

The main reason behind this is because Blizzard wants to not have soulbinding, which I agree with, yet there are concerns with the economy. If you implement this then you still have the benefits of not forcing soulbinding on the player, but you also won't have items running all over the place in the economy because people will choose to soulbind the item to be able to have some better stats.

I like the idea of having soul binding as a quest reward, 1 for each difficulty (3-4 difficulties) and applicable to any item you choose for your character (except jewelery) and having some new bonus stat added or increasing original stats by a marginal amount. It is one more thing to work towards in maxing out your characters potential and will keep people playing longer on each character, taking out only a few items per character from the game economy. I don't know how significant the effects of this idea would be on the game economy but my guess is not very much.

I don't see the WoW version of soulbinding working for diablo III.

Bull S#!t. the beta will not be able to run on my mac OSX 10.4. As far as i know, the wide range they refer to is confined to windows 7, and 3 versions of mac OSX (10.5, .6 and .7)

posted a message on DiabloCast: Episode XX - Give Me Options or Give Me DEATH!
Because DIII will be a free game, spending a little money on it from time to time seems like a good option. That being said, this system gives an obvious advantage to people who have money to spend on video games which is similar to where Diablo 2 is right now (if item farming mf bots are taken out of the equation): your account can be as good as someone working for years in one day if you have enough money to spend. This is discouraging for competitive-at-heart gamers who want their time and efforts to actually mean something for their status in the game.

Real Money should be seperate from Diablo III

When I get an internet outage and cannot play my game, I'll probably be pissed.

Fyi; it's not your game. Blizzard made it. You don't buy the rights to the game, you buy the rights to play it. Read the end-user license agreement.

Actually, don't. It's boring. But it clarifies that you don't own their property.

You are ignoring the guy's communication to be right on a dumb point that he wasnt arguing in the first place.
