If you're going defensive and you don't really have a lot of DPS, get the LoH and forget the Life Steal, as with low DPS/tank your return on life steal will be super small.

What act would you equate the difficulty and drops in Whimsyshire to?

I haven't visited the level yet. Matter of fact, i just finally got my Barb into Inferno last night, I am currently on the sword pieces quest. I am wondering if it would be more worth it to get better, more expensive gear, or an Inferno level Staff of Herding. I'm kind of to the point where, in order to upgrade my gear, i finally have to spend 300-500k+ gold per piece. Where a complete staff costs about 2 million.

    Whimsey is ACT3/4 level loot/mobs

IIRC you need to kill diablo in inferno before you can make the staff

TBH i plan on getting the staff once i kill diablo on inferno (I'm too busy just farming act 1 for now to progress), because whimsey mobs>>>>>>>>act3 mobs, i can't stand 1/2 of the mob types act3 has, whereas whimsey is nothing fancy.

I will be pre-ordering the xpan as soon as it's announced tbh, I'm enjoying every one of my (so far) 200+ hours on this game, the only games i've played this much are online FPSs, MMOs, and Skyrim.

Can someone please enlighten us non-beta players about the new modifications added to Diablo 3?

    1. What are the basic stats? (Diablo2's equivalent strength, dexterity, vitality, energy)

    2. How are these transmuted into the character's output? ( damage, attack precision + dodge, hp, mana)

    3. Are the class resources stat independent and only skill/item dependend?(fury, spirit, hatred/disc, mana, arcane power )

    4. Are runes auto-obtained on level-up or found in-game via loot?

    5. Do we still have the 'GAMBLE' feature available at townsfolk ?

    6. In multiplayer, is the aggro/threat mechanic inherited from WoW?

If someone is kind enough and has the time to quickly answer these it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

As much as I would advise you to go look at the Wiki, not everyone has that kind of time so i'll try to help out

    1. Stats are Strength, Dexterity, Vitality, Intelligence

    2. each character has a different damage stat, i'll try and do these all from memory:

    Strength - Barbarian damage, +armor
    Dexterity - Demon Hunter/Monk Damage, +dodge
    Vitality - +Health
Intelligence - Witch Doctor/Wizard Damage, +0.1% all resistances

    3. All the resources are stat-independent, but there are stats on items that will help with resource generation and such (I.E. +AP on crit, +spirit gen/second etc.)

    4. Runes are automatically given on a level-up starting at level 6

    5. AFAIK there isn't a gamble feature implemented, at least not currently in the beta. It's more or less replaced by the crafting system

    6. I'm not sure about the aggro mechanic in the game, i think they just hit whatever is closest for the most part unless the AI is programed to target something else. Seems to work similar to how D2 worked
