To throw it out there, all you people who disagree with this statement keep saying "7mill+ and only 50k are here" yada yada yada.
What is to say that this SAMPLE isn't indicative of the population as a whole. Isn't that why they do polls?
Polls and surveys naturally have smaller pools. Understanding the size of the pool and the bias helps to determine the legitimacy or potential legitimacy of the poll/survey.
Sure, is it likely that 24% of ALL users who own the game would vote to like 1.03? Probably not.
BUT, are an equal number of users as far into the game as the majority of posters on Diablofans? Again, probably not.
Take it for what it's worth, and that should be that "one poll shows that a number of active users do not like what patch 1.03 did".
Good grief.

envizion posted a message on Players quitting after 1.0.3its not simply because of nerfs that is making people quit. with every patch, blizzard is pretty much narrowing the game down to exactly how they want the game to be played. there is absolutely nothing wrong with smashing vases for loot or gold, nor changing into mf gear to pop open chest. if the problem is botters, than fix that. don't go eliminating different play styles people enjoy simply cause of that. some days i simply don't wish or have time to endlessly kill packs, as currently that is the only way left to farm now.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
i enjoyed a quick 5nv siege run. i enjoyed wearing my mf gear and just run through whimsy and pop some clouds open while trying to dodge mobs, i still die and sometimes i don't get loot at all, but the adrenaline of dodging and trying to speed through surviving as long as possible is fun. i don't want to log on with only the option of farming packs after packs after packs after packs every time. your analogy of lemons is poorly used, in life sometimes you have no options, not so when choosing what or how to play a game. -

Ralzyn posted a message on No Longer a FanI am no longer a fan of Blizzard, since patch 1.0.3 and the rampant mistakes the patch has, over and above the "bugged" equipment stats (yeah as if that wasn't done to sway AH prices), instead of dealing with poorly timed animations causing rubberband death, laggy servers and super crappy loot drops the development team is busy banning people from the forums that disagree with the brown-nosers who are DIRECTLY insulting those of us that are frustrated. Maybe Blizzard needs a third party to come in and FIX their game for them, it's become obvious all they are concerned with is whether or not the RMAH makes $. The real reason die hard diablo fans didn't get a real diablo 3 is simple, the team that actually put it together and made it great all left when a French company took it over and changed the corporate agenda, to pure profit, no fun for you, we decide whats fun, aren't you thankful?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

Gazzuk posted a message on Why I love WD, and why I no longer play it.I am making this post to see if anyone else currently feels the same way I do about the Witch Doctor.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
I want to say that I completely LOVE the class. I was initially drawn to the class because pre-launch they really talked a lot and boasted about the pets. I have always played pet-classes in just about every video game I ever played. Normal mode, Nightmare, and the first few acts of Hell were a total BLAST. As I progressed through the end of Hell and the early parts of Inferno it became very clear to me that pets were just simply not going to be a part of the equation. So inevitably I had to completely change my play-style to a darts/snare build.
It takes some getting used to, but I still think the end-game play-style of darts / snare is still pretty fun but until a very high level of gear it just doesn't get shit done. Playing the witch doctor in this fashion almost feels like you were given a toolbox to fix a sink with, but the toolbox is entirely empty except for two mismatched drill bits and broken measuring tape. It just does not feel like there is enough utility.
So after beating my head into Act 3 for a long enough time, I decided to roll Wizard. As soon as I hit 60 I gave my Wizard all the WD's gear and started to farm with him. I think progressing through Act 2 is really when it really hit me.
Witch Doctor, in it's current state, is totally and completely broken.
I was totally blown away at how much more utility, damage, and control a wizard has compared to a WD. Now, the wizard doesn't have Vision Quest, but honestly, they don't even need it.
And I think for the very short term I know how to fix it: Take the cool-down, entirely, off of Grasp of the Dead.
In the long term, I think if they make pets a little more resilient, work out the kinks with zombie bears (and all of the zombie chargers, really), and fix that GOD-AWFUL cast animation on poison darts I will be returning happily to my Witch Doctor.
Does anybody else feel the same way?
tl;dr wah wah wah WD suck plz buff -

derpinger posted a message on 1.0.3 - To all of you who cry about "drop" nerf.Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Kblavkalash
Wtf is this thread?
People are seeing big difference in drops before patch 1.0.3 and post patch. What D2 has to do here at all?
Oh and btw, uniques in D2 were dropping like candies if you had mf. In D3 legendaries do not drop at all, like once in 100 hour playtime.
Yeah OP is fucking retarded.
I'd say kblav is fairly accurate with 1 legendary in 100 hours for d3, seems to line up with my experience. In d2 I would get a unique worth keeping like once every hour if not more often than that so again, OP is fucking retarded.
I understand blizzards logic that it's fun to roll that perfect item, the problem is i can't even roll a half perfect item. 300 hours played and i wouldn't say i have found a single "good" item. If it weren't for the things i had to go to the AH to buy, i'd still be wearing a +1 burlap sack.
For a game that is supposed to be so much fun for "the item hunt", all my items have come from "the item grocery store". Fail blizzard...hard fail. -

BigEd781 posted a message on 1.0.3 - To all of you who cry about "drop" nerf. What does one have to do with the other, regardless of the specifics? We're talking about DIII (well, we should be), not DIII in comparison to DII. If I'm playing DIII for hours on end, farming with a ton of MF and 5 stacks of NV and not finding anything, then that is a problem (not claiming this to be the case), regardless of what the drop rates in DII were. It's just not fun to work and work and work with little to no reward.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Just to keep things in perspective, I am having a much better time farming Act II then I was previously, I'm playing devil's advocate here as I think your argument is irrelevant. Now, if I were farming Act III and it turns out the drop rates were nerfed... well, I probably would not be pleased. -

Crondo posted a message on I loved this game till 1.03Easier? I'm trying to figure out how this game is any easier. I still wander out into the desolate sands with my demon hunter only to be faced by a pack of fast, jailer, vortex, waller that rape me constantly. Following by the teleporting invulnerable minions with frozen, and teleport. Then the extra fast, fire chain, leaping burrowers with mortar, extra health, and reflect damage run at me from nowhere. Followed by the whirlwinding mobs in act 2 with vortex, jailer, mortar, fast.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Easier? I'm sorry but the game is no less difficult for a solo player, and if the game is THAT easy for you then I emplore you to go out and get a job because you have too much free time. -

Tinyhell posted a message on People complaining about the gamePosted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Tyraenpeasofme - the only info you have to support your post is anecdotal at best. As I stated above, the posts you see on fansites are an insignificant percentage of the total buyers. This tiny group are "upset" and "quitting in droves". Before you start talking about the majority of owners of the game, you should have some hard data to back it up.
