Were amazing for rares, and for LLD stuff.
Would like to see them come back.

News from Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
THEY HAVE TALENT TREES.
Look a game which didn't have any, figured...probably a good idea to get these since it wasn't as fun without them.

Games like Dragon Age even had locked in skills...unless you cheated and this caused re playability and changing one's char to be different through a subsequent play through (which took a lot longer than Diablo games.)Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I do not know what the purpose of playing through the game again unless you are playing HC, which sounds like most people will be except to PVP.

I make assumptions off of Sixen telling me that when he playtested the beta, there were no synergies and no skill points.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
So, no, I am making no assumptions.

I am very concerned with the lack of any real character progression after level 30.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Once you have all Active skills, what is there to look forward to? Why didn't they implement a Synergy system like Diablo 2 but instead of just raw power, it also does what runes do now?
Say Hydra does X damage per shot fired, and lasts X seconds.
Synergy with Fire Bolt gives +attack speed of the Hydra summon
Synergy with Fire Ball gives +damage of each bolt fired
Synergy with Warmth gives +duration of the Hydra summon
Wow, look! I just made runes into synergies and allowed skill allocation become useful and feel interactive per level!
Then you could even have Runes on top of it to add new effects.
Rune of Multi-Headedness
- Gives Hydra 1 extra head to fire shots with.
Rune of Green Flame
- Each time a target is struck by a Hydra shot, they burn for X seconds.
Rune of Blue Flame
- Each time a target is struck by a Hydra shot, they are chilled for X seconds.
Rune of Red Flame
- Each fire attack explodes for AoE damage upon hit.
Preserves both systems, gives meaning to leveling and focusing skills (all could be unlocked, but you "specialize" into a few).
The system is 100x better than now and is fun until level 60.

Runes are Unidentified until used in a skill, then gain a "color" and grant a bonus.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
The rune is then set, and must be used as is or traded.
How hard is this to understand? It is basic diablo drops that augment a skill instead of used on character as an item.
The issue is this:
Unless they balance all runes to be roughly equal in power per skill...one rune will be the best (multi-shot magic missile > MM dealing 100% more damage > etc).
Once you get a good rune collection, you augment every skill you have for your character and they are a really good jack of all trades that never has to focus one aspect ever.
