Haha, I'm working on the lists!
I've been temporarily sucked into a vortex of Modern Warfare 3 (10!) and Skyrim (9.5!), but those D2 lists are coming!
Uh... don't expect magic here, either. I'm a wiki-noob and I have a dearth of spare time, so while my aims are heavenly the actual mark may be much more terrestrial. For more specifics on the lists, you can always check out my wiki profile.
Edit: Apoc, you're a God. That's a huge amount of data to move! Thanks for that!!!

Oct 28, 2011kahdrick posted a message on Diablo 2 Patch 1.13dhome channel is something I've wanted for a loooong time and it works beautifully! All of your characters share the same home channel, too, and it persists across logins. you don't even have to /go home when you first sign in to chat - it just defaults you to your home channel.Posted in: News
I'm not sure how the ignore list works - if it perma-squelches people or not, but it seems like the spambotters are countering by having hordes of bots. Where I used to get 1 every few minutes in a non-restricted game, I now get an endless stream, keeping the game nearly full all the time (good), but so I can't see a damn thing ever (bad). -
Oct 6, 2011kahdrick posted a message on Diablo III in SpaceI'm with Daemaro. The problem isn't that corpses are getting bashed sky-high, it's that they float when they get there. Same goes for them sliding across the ground - the dead bodies simply don't have any sense of weight. What's more, they bounce if they hit a wall - that shouldn't happen either. There should be a wet thud and the body should stay there. The corpses need more weight, and gravity needs to be stronger on the way back down from a hit.Posted in: News
Now, I'm sure that the physics guys are saying things like "we're using 9.8 m/s/s!" but the fact of the matter is that when you're not in a first person view, real gravity just looks slow. You've got to beef it up a little. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

First, if the game crashes, apple will (should) generate a crash report automatically. Copy and paste the text of that report into your bug report.
Then, go to your apple menu (upper left corner), and select "About this mac."
Then press the "more info" button. In 10.6.8, this will launch the system profiler. In 10.7, this will launch the System Information app.
For 10.7, click the "System Report" button. That will then open a report that is identical to the system profiler report that 10.6.8 users are already looking at.
Now that you're viewing the System Report (or system profiler for 10.6.8 users), the default selection is the Hardware Overview. It looks like this:
The above is my laptop's info. As you can see, I'd like to stress the importance of deleting the serial number and hardware uuid from the report before posting it on the public inter webs. Seriously. Protect yourself.
The next piece of information you'll want to post is in the Graphics/Displays category (in the left hand column, under "Hardware". If you have multiple display adapters, be sure to select the one that was active during the crash (for complete information, it should still be active when you generate the system report). Then you want to copy the information below. That looks like this:
Now you've got a complete set of information to send to Blizzard, along with your bug report.
PS: I can't post in the D3 beta bug report forums since I'm not in the D3 beta, but if someone would like to pass this guide along to the blizz folks, I'm sure the mac support team would appreciate it.
Cheers,
Kahzgul

Here, however, there's a genuine desire for discussion and community.
So I'll be posting on the blizzard forums.

Not for all white liquids, but in this case, I can't unsee it! I know I have the mind of a 14 year old; I'm just glad that the image isn't ruined for everyone out there.

So why does this thread exist? To teach you how to get back to 10.6.8 and Diablo 2 goodness, of course, or to teach you how to upgrade to Lion without losing your Diablo 2 Launch-ability. If you have no interest in upgrading to 10.7, feel free to stop reading now, this thread won't have any real information for you.
Things you'll need:
1) A minimum of 15 GB of free space on your Hard Disk (though I recommend 20).
2) An internet connection.
3) Your old Mac OS 10.6 install disc.
First, the Lion installer is a new approach for macs, and it's important that you understand how it works. When you buy it from the online store, you get a personal license to download the software for your own personal use. This is unlimited downloads, and unlimited computers, as long as you are the owner and user of those computers and this software. This is important because if you've already downloaded and installed Lion, you're going to want to download it a second time. Don't worry, I'll explain.
With the MacOS 10.7 installer, it is physically impossible to perform a clean install. In addition, the installer deletes itself after installation. So, before installing, I recommend burning a DVD with the installer application on it. This way if your computer takes a dump, you don't have to wait for an installer to download again in order to re-install. At this point, if you haven't already upgraded to 10.7, you want to run system update and make sure that your Mac is up to date with Mac OS 10.6.8. Then run the installer. If you've already upgraded to 10.7, there's no need to install a 2nd time - I just wanted to make sure you had a good install disc for future use. You're welcome.
The installer will change your 10.6.8 system to 10.7 and delete itself. Rad. Now you can't launch Diablo 2 or any other Carbon-based application. Poop. But hey, you now have the shiniest and newest system from Apple!
Launch Disc Utility. Select your Hard Disk, and click the "Partition" tab on the right hand side. Yup, we're going to make a 10.6.8 boot partition purely to play D2. You'll need a minimum of 15 GB of free space to do this, and I recommend 20 just for breathing room. You can always resize your partitions later. Click the little plus sign to make a new partition and set the size to your desired size (again, I used 20). Hit apply and let this run for, well, it can be a couple of minutes or several hours. Just let it do its thing. It is important that you partition using the 10.7 disc utility - don't make the partition prior to upgrading to 10.7 or you can run into drive mounting issues. I'm not saying you will, just saying it's possible.
When the partitioning finishes, restart your computer. After it powers down for the restart, insert your 10.6 install disc and hold down the "C" key to boot from disc. Choose your desired 10.6 install partition, and install away. Again, this can take a long time, anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours. Just let it run. Go see a movie. Read a book. When the install finishes, it should automatically restart your computer with the 10.6 partition as the boot disk.
After installing, you need to download the 10.6.8 combo update from Apple. It can be found at:
Apple 10.6.8 Combo Update v1.1, 7-25-11
which links to http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 for those who are "internet forum hyperlink wary." Just copy and paste if you don't want to click the link or it doesn't work for some reason.
Once you've downloaded the update, run it. One more time of 30 minutes to a couple of hours worth of waiting. When finished, you're done! You can boot diablo 2 while running with the 10.6.8 partition (even if diablo 2 lives on your 10.7 drive partition), as well as any other Rosetta or Carbon-based application. Keep in mind that the very first time that you try to run Diablo 2, you'll likely be forced to download Rosetta - that's normal and required to play. To switch between 10.7 and 10.6.8, go to system preferences, Startup Disk, and select the one you want to boot with, then click the Restart button.
Congratulations and have fun!

True... I've needed a Lo for ages now. Seriously for so long that I've almost made one from farming Pgems and trading them 40 at a time for Ists.
