Yup def turned into an epeen thread rofl...
Its funny too because your all showing off these mad specs when its... diablo3.... u think this game is going to push the limits of a basic computer? I bet you can take an older computer with a basic 50 dollar gfx card and run this game just fine.

Also anything over 4gigs is overkill on a gaming PC unless you got 20 other programs running behind it.

Think of it this way. Playing the games at max settings ran smooth @ blizzcon and other shows and the computers they used there were

    CPU: Intel Core i7 870 (45nm, Soket 1156, 2.93GHz)
    Motherboard: Intel DH55HC (intel H55)
    RAM: EK Memory DDR3 10600 2GBx2EA
Video Card: GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 460 1GB WindForce or ZOTAC GeForce GTX 460 1GB
Hard Drive: Seagate Momentus XT 500GB
    Power Supply: Acbel iPower 500
    Case: Bestech Guardian
    Monitor: Orion TopSync 24

Nothing spectacular just a basic up to date computer. Nothing amazing required to run it.

anything better than that probably won't matter at all lol. They will probably just set you in a catagory with higher end pcs and you won't have a better chance because you spent 6,000 on your computer or 1,000.

You can build a really nice PC for around 800-900 if you purchase the parts from newegg and put it together yourself. That's what I been doing as a hobby for a good while now lol.

Haven't done it for awhile but my last build was
4gig ram (anything more than this is overkill and not needed)
6core AMD 2.8 processor (I7 is twice as much bleh can even go with a faster 4core mine is set to 3.4ghz 4core atm)
HD 5770 gfx card (was running Rift at almost max without any problems)
    1TB HD
    OCZ 700W Pwr supply
    Basic DvD RW drive
and had enough to get a nice cooler and Antec case with some modded lights

Can get better/cheaper now since this thing is actually older but I still love it.

    Quote from Leeodin

You'd still have the same problem as D2. People would be forced to take skills they didn't want just to get to the top skills of each tree. This idea restricts build potential rather than aids it.
    this
I like the system they have in place. So many possibilities and will lead towards some very fun gameplay imo. NN 2 change that.

so for example your end game...and u have a really high level skill...put in a rune.... and u would want indigo...but its get golden....how dissapointed is that? took like ages to make the skill highest level...then another ages to find a rune....than it is the wrong 1?
    kinda silly imo...

Now think about it in other way.. You are farming for your rank 7 indigo rune.. Finally ... you see some rank 7 rune dropped ... aaaand..it's GOLDEN... how disappointed is that?? Seriously... it's exactly same system, they just moved the "surprise" what type rune is from drop to socket..And I love it :)

posted a message on No Offline Mode - No More Bot/Hacks!
    Quote from Ophion

The ability to hack in D2 has nothing to do with its offline mode, it is simply an old game with an old server structure. Removing offline mode was not done to prevent hacking, and if it would make a return it would not mean the return of hacking. I just want to point that out.
You do realize they stated the exact opposite of what you just posted... They said that the removal of offline play was to stop hacking... Have you not watched the reviews at all?

There will proberbly still be people trying to hack the game and some WILL have success, but hopefully it's gonna be hard as hell for them .. ;)
There will always be these people but with the way they have it they should and hopefully will be able to stop these people before it does any damage to the game/economy. With the files and everything being stored server side they can keep a close watchful eye on everything and stomp out these people and send their 50 bucks down the drain.

I hope they make a very up to date warden and script it like a boss so it can just run around bitch slapping all the hackers with a ban!

posted a message on No Offline Mode - No More Bot/Hacks!
So I have seen a few people complaining about no offline mode. I can understand how they feel some people don't have access to internet and would still like to play the game. But think of it this way.

In D2 people used the fact that they had access to all those files to learn more about them and change them around. Then they took that to another level and use this to affect online gaming. People were able to import items from offline to online and they were able to MAKE these items on offline with a simple copy/paste. They also used the information learned from the offline files to make dupe methods/mods/bots/hacks.

So by making everyone server side Blizzard can better watch over these files and pinpoint any type of hack/mod/bot/dupe or any other sort of alteration to the normal way the game would be played and kill it before it spreads.

I for one am 100pct for that. I hate the D2 economy as it is currently. All it is are bots and the occasional player trying to make enough to make a hdin to... bot. Or the people on D2jsp that spend all day duping/importing and selling stuff to make more FG. (jewel shops rune sellers and so on so forth. Even a few importers showing up now)

I think those are the reasons D2 is as dead as it is. Even for such an old game it had a very strong economy throughout its many years. But now imo its officially dying.... Prices are at a all time low... Markets are all flooded.... GGs aren't really even GG anymore because you can obtain everything you need with a bit of time botting.

Blizzard is going to make sure this won't happen for D3 and I don't care how they do it as long as they do. So we have to give up offline play mode oh well its for the good of the game! So I think I speak for everyone who wants legit gameplay a removal of cheaters. GO BLIZZARD DO WHAT U GOTTA DO!

DO NOTE THIS IS NOT SAYING THIS WILL PREVENT ALL HACKS/BOTS IT WILL IN FACT DRASTICALLY REDUCE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO DO ABUSE THESE SYSTEMS TO PROGRESS IN THE GAME TO A POINT WHERE IT WON'T BE THAT NOTICEABLE. ALSO THIS IS ALL SPECULATION AND HOPES NOT A GUARANTEE!

All I see are people crying because they can't make their character exactly how they want it right away. Ya it may take some time and work to get the right skill effect you want. But isn't that the whole point?!

Invest some time farming runes and trying to get ur desired skill ORRRRR go to the AH and BUY the one you like. So much QQ because you will have to invest some more time in the game. Its casual enough I for one welcome this change with open arms because I want this game to last a good amount of time. Not last me a month because by then I will have my main characters all geared up and set in some normal cookie cutter build and have nothing else to explore...

Ahmg how is there so much confusion??
    - when the rune is dropped it will be a PLAIN rune. (no alabaster no color no nothing besides rune and level.
    - when socketed it will randomly ROLL one of the effects from their original plan (the alabaster, gold, w/e)
    - NOT saying it will become an alabaster rune... It will just take on the skill that originally went with that rune or maybe it will go with the gold one or some other rune. Their original skill plans aren't changing just how they are obtained.

Now for all the people saying AHMG I CAN'T PLAN MY SKILL.... Yes you can.... You can EASILY go onto the auction house if your unlucky and BUY the one you like... I am sure it won't be that hard to find the rune of your choice after the game gets going.

Another nice tidbit of info is he stated there might be a way to wipe clean a rune after it is set through a quest or some item (mainly used incase u don't get the desired roll on a level 7 rune since they will obviously be much more rare/valueable)

damage was just an example :3 I love it too, all that randomness about rolling runes. Theres potential in it, some rolls could become quite rare(speculation). lets say the chance of rolling a uber lvl 7 rune of arcane void ball (just an example)is 0,1% . But as I said to xManiaCCCx, the whole randomness in the more stat/charm effect. it really sucks if it limits you from using the original skill.

    thoughs?

    EDIT: typo

Well both runesystems are the same afaik they just added the random rolling element instead of the set in stone runes. So either way you can either use a rune or don't if you want to keep the spell the same. But afaik there are a few rune effects that keep the spell relatively close to what it is originally and instead just gives it an additional element such as a slow effect. I don't see this as being a big enough impact on something that you would be absolutely against using runes at all. I can see not wanting to use say the sorcerers orb spell with a rune that in turn makes it into a defensive shield. But then again if they have a rune that gives it a slow effect on surrounding enemies and just changes the graphic slightly then why wouldn't you? I am sure they will have a wide enough variety of runes to change skills to favor all playstyles.

As i understood in the information JW gave you guys.

The runes have 5 different rune costomizations. + 1 original.

when you put a lvl 1 rune into lets say, Arcane bolt. it may roll an Arcane bolt which shoots two out instead of one. but it rolls 10 more arcane damage. The thing im wondering about. if you roll another lvl 1 rune into arcane bolt. and you get the above mentioned effect. can you then roll more arcane dmg? or maybe some other stat.

    thats how I understood it.

    EDIT: add some minor text.
I don't think the damage effect applies/is affected by the random roll (some may not even get a damage increase such as the arcane bolt split rune). That is done by the level of the rune rolled afaik. The only portion that is truly random is the stats that are applied. Otherwise they just took their basic idea of the runes and made them into a random element. The scaling comes from the level of the rune(like how he stated a level 7 rune will have 8 split bolts instead of two from a level 1 rune). This is all speculation and its how I interpreted it. But it seems right in my eyes. I love this idea and I hope it makes it to retail!

I agree! I personally think blizzard knows what they are doing and every change and new idea so far seems very well thought out and I for one think their all fantastic ideas. People just love to complain and nitpick it seems. Yet their all unfounded complaints and usually have no actual good reason as to why they should be complaining about it.

Oh I don't like the real money AH system.. Why? Oh because... Uhmmm.... People will spend money on the items in the game? A derp... People do this regardless the only difference now is that the people with private dupe methods and the knowledge to create their own website/service aren't going to completely run that part of the economy. Blizzard is putting this in EVERYONES hands and I for one say ABOUT TIME!

posted a message on Suggestion- skill system
Whats the difference between having 14 skills or all of them able to be "used" when you can only ACTUALLY use 6 active and 3 passive. The only difference is you would either have to go to town and respec or you can stay out in the field and after combat switch the skills to favor your battle style.

The amount of scripting and all of that jazz just to make a player waste a little more time every time he wants to switch up playstyles imo is more of a hassle than it is a benefit for the game.

If you ask me the BEST choice I can find is a nice timed cooldown on the switching of skills so as to prevent the rapid changing of your abilities to favor every fight your about to encounter or to juggle ALL skills with higher cooldowns.
