If they end up running with ladders, it may very well be that almost nothing you are doing now is very productive or likely to give you a leg up.

They've said ladders are coming, which likely implies more or less hitting a big reset. Now it won't technically reset your paragon or stop you from saving 500000000000000000 radiant gems but all of that is useless if you want to play on whatever shiny ladder they make.

Now if they run with short ladder seasons that are treated more like events, kinda like what POE is doing, then there might be some dead time between events or a reason to play outside the ladders... However if it's closer to D2 type ladders in the months and years, then most of your attempts to save stuff for the future may very well be in vain and just cashing out before it gets announced is the only reasonable call for those with ludicrous amounts of in game wealth.

My 2 cents and food for though.

Ladders coming doesn't mean that everyone's characters are going to be ported to ladder. I'd prefer having a user choice of being able to have your character be either ladder or non.

I'd say that expect to have a new tier of Essence, Rare Material, and Legendary Material with some way to convert older materials into the newer ones, so if you want to gamble on that and get a new head start on the next tier of crafting then invest in some.

Gems I'm a little iffy on, like others I expect there will be a higher tier dropped @70.

So you're banking on potentially being able to upgrade mats but disregard being to upgrade gems? Because right now we know you can upgrade gems. The system would have to be reversed for it to be useless. With mats the system would have to change in your favor, though it 's possible. It's less likely that they would reverse being able to upgrade gems, since that would undermine the entire artisan.

Just to reiterate, you think -
Gems are risky because new ones will come out. Yet you can't upgrade them?
Current mats can be upgraded into new mats.

If Blizzard adds 670978435097345079 gems it's to reset the economy. If they do that, you can bet it's happening to everything else. There's no reason for them to create more than 1 more tier of gem, common, uncommon, rare, or legendary material. Unless they are trying to reset the economy as I said.

If they don't introduce a new tier of crafting materials I'm ahead by having a bunch to craft with, if they do add a way to convert up considering they have for all current tiers of materials (10:1 ratio) then I have a hoard of old materials I can make useful. Since they're also reducing the amount of loot that drops I think having some on had to possibly use isn't a bad way to prepare.

Gems I'm iffy on because I'm banking on a higher drop rate / higher quality gem dropping. These will further dilute your crafting materials. On that note what are gems / tomes considered as item-wise? Magical or Rare?

We already know they're going to have one new crafting material from white items and one new type of gem (Diamond). Blizzard also has a history of adding a new tier of materials in expansions.

Yep. And even better, Blizzard confirmed it in blue posts by talking about ladders / seasons / resets. (they also said your paragon XP upon reset of ladder would be put into your non-ladder character pool).

True. I've seen a blue post with the magical word "ladder" in it.
Anyways, when it gets official then there will be A TON of butthurt from the die-hard people who actually enjoy the current game because all their time and gold and money invested so far won't mean anything in ladder. Sure, they will mean something in non-ladder, but when the ladder is up, who will care about non-ladder?

I dislike ladder for the same reason I don't play hardcore characters; I hate seeing all of my hard work disappear in the blink of an eye. Some people like the thrill of racing to the top or the thought that if I die, that's the end. There will be quite a few people playing non-ladder, so I think you're a bit heavy handed with the whole "ladder is master race".

The only time I get stuttering is when I begin a new game, it will stutter for the first minute or two and then be completely fine after that.

There are 6 types of gems, but if you are only interested in one particular gem, then the drop rate is only ONE SIXTH of the original, 4/6 gem/hour.

Currently there are only four listed gem types, those being Emerald, Topaz, Amethyst, and Ruby.

I remember in Dungeon Siege II whenever a unique/set item would drop it would make a resounding boom when it hit the ground, clearly indentifying itself. I was always so excited to hear that sound.

First off, your English was good, better than some on this forum whose native tongue it is ^_^.

To answer your first question, it looks like it was removed. Here's a link to the current Active Skills List.

My guess is that it's been replaced with Elemental Arrow.

    For your second question, Impale.

    Enjoy!

    There will be pecking.

Damn Nelwins. On topic, the Hot Pursuit passive is very weak and downright crappy. Why do I want to be full Hatred to get 10% movement speed increase? Now if they made it to be a speed increase when facing an enemy (you know, pursuing) then it wouldn't be so lackluster.

Here is a list of all Active and Passive Skills that increase Hatred Regeneration for reference.

    Active Skills

    Marked for Death

    Golden Runestone - Mortal Enemy

Attacks by the Demon Hunter against the Marked target have a 40% chance to generate 35 Hatred. This effect cannot occur more than once every 1 second.

    Smoke Screen

    Obsidian Runestone - Breathe Deep

While invisible you also gain 45 Hatred per second.

    Companion

    Golden Runestone - Bat Companion

Summons a bat instead of a raven. The bat grants you 4.0 Hatred per second.

    Shadow Power

    Crimson Runestone - Night Bane

While active, gain 7 Hatred per second.

    Preparation

    Crimson Runestone - Punishment

Removes cooldown. Skill now costs 19 Discipline to cast but restores all Hatred instead of all Discipline.

    Passive Skills

    Vengeance

Gain 10 Hatred and 1 Discipline whenever you are healed by a health globe.

    Fundamentals

Increases the damage of your basic attacks by 100%. Your basic attacks restore 15 Hatred.
