What about this: 10% (more or less) of your highest resistance is added onto your other resistances?Quote from Grigori
I bet they have no clue whatsoever on how to approach this skill. xD
Lets be honest, no one know how to do this, because it is impossible to do, without forcing players to switch items.

Aug 7, 2012Azjenco posted a message on Game-Limits Now Live, 1.0.4 Developer Blogs, Diablo III Profiles - More Info, Ugly As Sin: Azmodan Brought to Life, Curse WeeklThe magic find blog came out more than a month ago, 3rd of July to be exact. Since then we haven't had any updates on what's happening behind the scenes. Hell, the whole magic find "we're not sure what to do so we'll ask you fans" matter hasn't even been resolved, or received any answers for that matter. Didn't they say they're going to release smaller, focused blogs at a more consistent basis? So much for that idea...Posted in: News
The PvP patch was supposed to be soon after release. 1.1 is supposed to be some time after 1.0.4, and we don't even have any idea when it's coming. Plus, for all we know there's going to be another 1-2 months wait for a 1.0.5.
I really don't know why Blizzard takes forever with each and everything they do. Games, expansions, patches, even blogs. Sometimes I imagine they're just sitting around, staring at walls. That or they have the largest communication gaps between their employees, which stunts their design process beyond belief.
I realize that I'm coming to this site less and less, waiting for something to actually happen to this game. D3 has so much promise, but Blizzard is so damn lax, it's frustrating. I really can't wait forever for them to right the wrongs riddled throughout this game.
The GW2 BWEs are just so damn impressive, I can't bring myself to come back to this game. Come 25 August, I'm probably not going to look back at all
I really hope Blizzard gets their crap it together and pull D3 through, cause I think I'm going to wait for the expansion (which will probably take more than 2 years, if HotS is anything to measure it by). If it doesn't look amazing, then it'll be a damn sad day, but I'll be done with this game. -

Really? Nightmare? I played the game straight through Normal, Nightmare, and Hell, died only a few times. In fact, I'd like them to up the difficulty of Nightmare and Hell a bit. The only time I struck a roadblock was mid way through Inferno, so I did a few Azmodan runs, which gave me enough of a boost to start doing Butcher runs. If you're stuck in Nightmare, then Hell is going to burn you.Quote from Olden Soul
Why...
Why do I continually see negative updates for this game? I keep trying to play, and can barely make it past nightmare...
Right, because gear meant so very little in D1 and D2...Quote from Olden Soul
It's not that I am not playing right, it's that I don't have the time to sit there and farm for items, I do not like how this game is all about gear, that's important, but it shouldn't the main thing.
Right, because they never ever changed anything in D2 post release. Oh, wait no, they kept on balancing the classes for years after the game was released... I'm quite certain you never played much of D1 or D2.This should have all been done before the release, because the game at release WAS the game to me, now everything being done afterwards is just them removing things.

Yeesh, chill or you'll blow something. They're not completely nerfing it like they did with most of the WoW content, they're just making it playable. Needing insane items and completely defensive builds eliminated half your options already, after all, they did say you will be able to play any build in Inferno, but as it stands, you can't take a 2 handed weapon into Inferno, or you'll be castrated.Quote from OneOfAllXoria
yeeeeeeeeeeeah . "WE DONT NERF INFERNO" "INFERNO IS NOT FOR EVERYBODY". And what u did in 1.0.3 NERF IT ! U SUCK BLIZZARD !!! Now every fuckin' n00b will clear inferno, remember this. U FUCKED DIABLO LIKE U FUCKED WoW Classic !!!
They're not breaking Inferno, they're making it viable, it will still be hard. At least wait for the patch before you start flinging poo.
And how is it dumb if Act I Inferno is fine as it is? Because it is fine, the progression from Hell Act IV to Inferno Act I feels good, it transitions perfectly to a steeper curve. Act II is nigh insane, being one shotted through Diamond Armor is just screwed up.
... What? Yes, the prices are low, but if you'll pay attention, these are all from gems that drop and gems up till the recipes you acquire through upgrading the JC. The upgrades from plans are unchanged, i.e. still freaking expensive. The new prices for gems ... REALLY ? REALLY ? REALLY ? U want hard game u make it when u released and now u fucked it HARD and make it easy....
Anyhow, how does it make the game easy when they lower the more accessible gems prices to reasonable amounts? Your rage seems unjustified and unnecessary, and frankly, your entire post reeks of nonsensical babel.
What does scare me though is the repair costs. However, as others have stated, I think this will be a nice way of telling when you're faffing around where you're not supposed to be. Back tracking to farm will make sense in such occasions.
Also note, this is the first balance change and its in a good direction. If things are still wonky then they'll change them again. D3 is still in flux, but at least we can agree that the game is heading in a positive direction. -

Blizzard change your director departament !!! 4 years for 1 game? f..ck in 4 years i buid 6 bulding with 30 floors.
Most RPGs take years to create:
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - 3 years (not including all the previous work done on Copernicus)
Elder Scrolls Skyrim - 3 years+
Mass Effect 2 - 3 years+ (only counting from the date it was announced)
Borderlands - 3 years (shares many quilities with the Diablo franchise, even though it uses an FPS perspective)
And D3 took longer than 4 years to develop. But we all know Blizzard can get quite anal when it comes to release date, even Warcraft 3 was delayed like mad. SC2 took 7 years to develop and D3 is at that stage now. -

The rune system isn't the only thing they are working on. If you saw Force's interview with Jay Wilson, you'd know he stated that there are different teams working on different parts of the game. The guys working on runes are only a few, and now that the game is being delayed, they have more time to polish the system. Because that's their job, developing the rune system. The rest of the team are still working on everything else.Quote from trocadero_fuerte
Basically, When It's Done is a good philosophy, compared to the buggy, unfinished messes we usually see in this industry. But at some point, you're firing your third guitarist, rewriting the core engine, and adding features that were never inteded to fit into the scope of the original project. The noodling on the rune system (to me at least) appears to be at that point. Make them drops, save ranks 6 and 7 as hard to get craft recipes, and stop. There isn't anything you can add to them right this second that is worth the extra delay. If there is something awesome you can add to them (random affixes, ranged stats, unattuned gambling), add it in a patch or the expansion.
The items aren't even finalized yet, if you recall the lackluster uniques and sets they had at a stage, and the lack thereof on the D3 site at the moment. Plus, we don't even know the state of the later acts. When the beta was released, some textures were missing, some stuff didn't work properly, and the AH was released in the meanwhile. There has also been larger changes due to feedback, like followers and the Demon Hunter.
We don't really know what's going on behind the scenes, and why would you want to know what went wrong for whatever reasons?
People heard from Blizzard that the beta will be short if everything goes smooth. The projected date was end 2011, IF they had no problems. Blizzard said that their beta periods may last up to six months, and D3 is no different. They never promised Nov/Dec 2011.Quote from napobm43
Here's the issue - why isn't it done yet??? The game was announced (not started development which happened much earlier, but announced) in 2008. The overwhelming majority of the few people lucky enough to have access to the closed beta see a very polished game. People heard from Blizzard that the game was going to be released by Nov/Dec 2011.
The current incarnation of Diablo 3 only started in 2005 when Blizzard North was disbanded. They announced it in 2008 and the game will come out this year, 2012. Development cycle: 7 years.
Blizzard started development on Starcrat 2 Wings of Liberty in 2003, after Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne. The game was announced in 2007 and released 2010 after more than five and a half months of beta. Development cycle: 7 years.
Diablo 3 is quite in line with Blizzard development cycles.
You know, I don't think it will really matter what Jay Wilson has to report, people will still berate him for whatever reasons they can contrive. If he says they have made large sweeping changes, they'd be angry. If he explains in minute detail all of the fine tuning that they're doing, they'd be angry. If he decided to tell us nothing at all, they'd be angry. Some people just enjoys being angry at life, and gleen some form of pleasure out of hating things for no better reason that just to nitpick and hate.
I don't understand why some people would be thick enough to make comments like: 'Blizzard is intentionally holding back the finished game to spite me personally.' Why exactly would a company intentionally delay a finished product that would make them millions? Yes, it sounds that stupid when you actually think about it. -

History suggests you're the odd one out here thoughYes, thank you.
Some people are really purposefully obtuse when it comes to the RMAH. This is definitely for the betterment of the game, foregoing a clear foothold for all of the illegitimate misfits who ruin the game, and it will lessen hacks and bots. I don't know why people are so hellbent on battling something that is for the betterment of the game. Moreover it's a completely optional tool for a non-competitive game. I don't know what more can be said about it.
A list of things people have protested against when they were introduced:
- Electricity
- Internet
- Telephones
- Mobile Telephones
- Automobiles
- Television
Though obviously, in hindsight, they were right, and these were all very bad inventions that did not benefit mankind at all! ^^
Your response suggest that I'm the odd one out because people dislike change and usually resist it, even though it helps civilization out in the end. But in my post I'm defending the RMAH, saying that people should accept it because it will only drive things forward and actually aid the development of Diablo.
So, I'm rather confused now. -

Yes, thank you.Quote from raidenurogue
Sure, Blizzard is going to make money off the RMAH, but it's better than one of the possible alternatives that would have fragmented the Diablo 3 economy. There's a market for people to buy items in the Diablo universe, that's pretty clear from the spam bots and third party sites in Diablo 2's games...

I'm starting to think they'd be better off ignoring their so-called fans entirely. What's it worth to them anyway, spending time to cater to an ungrateful community. Blizzard should perhaps just turn a blind eye and plow onward.Quote from K1RSCH
Also - while Blizzard does not owe the community anything and doesn't have to communicate with the fans in any way as Molster and Azjenco state above - I would definately say that they absolutely do not communicate effectively. Blizzard CHOOSES to communicate with it's fans - which is a great - but it seems like every time they do communicate they only upset people.
From all the forums I've gone through, Blizzard have some of the strangest fans ever. They act like spoiled children.
Which is all just so strange. I must say, over at the Guild Wars community it's like light and day compared to over here (not to mention the WoW community, it's like eternal darkness over there). You seldomly find the fans complaining, they mostly look for ways to support the game. And when they do complain, it's mostly in a constructive way. A few times a random person will appear with the intent to disrupt everyone, but they don't last long.
ArenaNet is also not as forthcoming with their information. They mostly stick to giving information when they feel right, releasing stuff when it's finalized. In some regards they are even slower and more clandestine than Blizzard. -
Jan 12, 2012Azjenco posted a message on Development Article Soon, What's NOT Delaying the Game, Zarhym on "The Big Meeting"You know, some companies actually tell people nothing about their designing process. Blizzard could've remained perfectly quiet after they announced that they're working on Diablo 3. But they didn't. They could merely have revealed new classes at Blizzcon and left it at that. They could have kept a closed beta, and spoke nothing of it, but they didn't. They don't have to tell any of us anything. The fact that a new Diablo is coming out is hype enough all on its own, and they could've just gone all out a month before release. Yet they actually tell us stuff.Posted in: News
I honestly couldn't care less about WoW, I played it, and even then I didn't clamor to be pampered. Besides, this is Diablo with a different team. Sure it's the same company, but even the SC guys operate differently.
I'm just glad A new Diablo is coming out. I really don't care what they tell us. Does it even matter, it's not like this is the only game and I'm sitting in complete boredom without it. It will come and the only thing I fear is that it's release will clash with other titles. I know some people don't agree with me, they feel that they are paying customers and deserve to have their every whim pampered to. I feel I'm not paying them anything yet, so I deserve nothing from them. When D3 comes out according to when Blizzard feels right, then I'll buy it and be a paying customer, and see if the game was worth the money. -

More sense of entitlement and self righteousness from people who think they are owed something more than what Blizzard's delivering? Other than the fact that this is NOT EVEN REMOTELY DIFFERENT from any other Blizzard release in terms of information, they owe us nothing. Now, once the game is released, if it's buggy as all heck and has technical problems, that's a different story. But they are developing a game. So, it really doesn't make sense to be making any demands. Even with those of us who did the WoW year thing, there isn't much room for demands.
I know, right? People come to these forums everyday, making demands from Blizzard for the game to be released, ASAP. They act like they are shareholders with a say in the company. Best things is, if Blizzard rushes the game, buggy as hell, these people would jump on these forums and berate them for releasing a half-assed product.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
But what I love most is the people who come here, day in and day out, proclaiming how they lost interest in the game, how it's grown beneath them, and how much they loath Blizzard. They are the same people who will be at the stores first come release day to pick up their pre-ordered Collector's Edition.
They kinda remind me of babies who bawl their eyes out if they don't get a toy, right now. They make a huge racket without end, and when they're finally given the toy, the crying ends immediately. Replaced by smiles and sunshine as if nothing ever happened. Sad, but true, and it always makes me smile. -

Eh what? No, not at all. Sorry I was saying that in regards to the colossal ingrates who were bashing the cinematic for reason A B C. Apologies if it looked like I was directing that at you, I had the post typed and didn't refresh the page before I posted heh.
It was directed to that maknywhatshisface and the other trolls.
Anyway, I think I kinda understand why a lot of people are looking at the into now, and think meh, which is alright, I guess.
I mean, this is an introduction, after all. Do you know when it will be great? When you first start the game up, see that intro flash by, and then immediately jump into the events that happens right afterwards. It's like the first two minutes of a film, so it's really only a buildup to the rest of the story.
To be honest, I never really liked the Diablo 2 intro all that much. It felt too drawn out and I cant put my finger on what bugs me about it. The rest of the cinematics are fine, but I'm not all that into the intro, so I will be disinclined to compare the two intros. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Honestly, I really don't get this insane need to trade every second drop with people out there that you don't know. I regard rares as upgrades/salvage material and legendaries as upgrades/trophies. So I really don't understand this mentality.
0
No, the point of having efficient combos is if there's a variety to choose from, which should obviously be the point of it all. No one wants a bunch of skills that are just thrown together, but no one wants there to be one insanely effective go to combo that is so amazingly good that everyone almost needs it just to run their favorite class effectively. I'm sure it will still be viable, just not the end-all combo it used to be.
Rather than being all miffed about them lessening the one broken combo, let's focus on them getting as many good combos into the wizard roster as we can.

Sadly before launch I didn't think much of the AH, thought it was alright to implement it. Since launch I've realized that it was not worth it, not at all. It's just not in the spirits of a loot hunting game to have such a thing. That said, I hope they do implement a decent trading system at least, for those interested, off course. As for me, I'll be playing with my friends, swapping gear around and having a good time.
Question though, since there are a few things that cost into the high millions, how is anyone supposed to make that? I thought it was that high to force players into using the AH, but since its leaving, how will players hoard that amount of gold?

Stupid question: How will the ladder work?
Do you create a ladder character or are all your characters automatically part of the ladder? The reason I ask is, I'm a slow player, I enjoy taking my time, and I have no intention to rush through paragon levels, not now, not when RoS launches. So the idea that they will periodically scrape the paragon leveld I've been accumulating is a very disconcerting thought.

I'm wondering the same thing over here. They mentioned something about paragon XP.
Zero?

If not, thanks for everything so far.

The impatience is mostly due to "little break - We have paragon exp, hopefully some skills and stuff coming in a bit". It's such a cruel tease to state that and then leave us hanging. I'm really eager to hear about paragon XP and if there's any info on new skills for the existing classes.
That said, thanks for all the info and keep up the good work.

Although, some of the names like "Quest_x1_A1_Challenge_SpiderTrap" got me wondering. It's definitely centered around act one, and there are other other "challenges" further down the list with A2 through to A5 as well. When I said random events, I meant some maps have stuff that could pop up, like the Jar of Souls, which don't always happen. I think when I said random it seemed a bit confusing.
Still, I wonder if these are new events that pop-up in earlier acts, which would be great! It would make running the pre-expansion acts a lot more interesting, since acts 1-4 were a bit dull in comparison to act 5 when LoD was released.
Edit: Or are these somehow tied to loot runs?

However, I guess the attributes would be named differently if what I asked were true. For instance, it doesn't make a lot of sense that a wizard would want to stack strength. If the attribute was named endurance, then that would make sense, but as it stands a wizard would rather choose between intelligence and vitality than adding strength or dexterity into that equation. So yeah, your point does make sense.
0
With RoS on the way, something I've read irked some people (me included) some months ago was how one sided attributes were. Basically players would stack their main character attribute and not really care about the others. This also made gem choices rather limited as you'd mainly chuck in one gem type per character on all items.
Has Blizzard given any word that this will change with the upcoming expansion, or has there already been headway made on this?
