Wow... called that crap. New class, no new game. Didn't expect it to be something you pay for, but I'm not surprised considering how SC2 is now. I still hope that they will finish the story of D3 (including the followers' stories and what happens when the nephalem are tempted to go evil) someday.

I don't know. I figure if there was a new game coming, there would be at least one more panel talking about it, considering the retrospective panel will be mostly about the past.
It seems to me, that if the Necromancer really is being introduced into Diablo 3, it may just be in a content patch instead of a full addition/expansion. Don't get me wrong; I want an expansion, but it just doesn't look promising with the Blizzcon schedule how it is. I'm still hoping they wrap up the followers' story lines eventually as well (I still remember how they put strings for more quests involving them in the game files, and there's no reason why they can't be resolved before another sequel is made, if another sequel is made).
I remember them talking about how they always intended for D3 to be the last Diablo ARPG, so an expansion is more likely for another installment and the time seems right to announce one, but yeah... Unless they somehow squeeze in another panel that they don't have on the schedule, it probably isn't happening this year. Perhaps a major content patch or perhaps a D2 remaster as others have suggested. That would actually make sense considering the D2-style Diablo in the Key Art and a D2 class getting a makeover in art as well.

That "logo" appears in the Book of Cain at the beginning of the chapter "The Burning Hells: Realms of Evil."
I personally find this year's Key Art more interesting: http://gear.blizzard.com/blizzcon-2016/blizzcon-2016-key-art-magnet

Looks like we are getting another new version of Diablo that is more akin to his Diablo 2 incarnation with Leahblo-style spikes mixed in (including a beard of spikes). Strange that he has the red soulstone in his head again, though.

Some of those wings just look like the ones from the different Shadow Power runes... lazy, boring, unoriginal...

Was personally hoping for something more akin to the lightning bolts that storm armor uses and for apocalypse to look more like rain of fire from warcraft 3/wow.Posted in: News

Every crusader shield and flail has a legendary affix and a few normal shields and other items have been given crusader specific bonuses as well (which is just... dumb). Only a few of the other class specific items do... One would hope that those would be the first they visit when adding new affixes.Posted in: News

Seeing as the Monk often uses combo moves, causing the monster to violently explode, sometimes what appears to be a unique monster death is just the end result of combination of attacks from the Monk, and not to be confused with the explosions of higher class monsters. Firstly the death of a Frozen Mage, its limbs fly outward falling and scatting nicely due to the in house physics engine (1:32).
You are wrong there... Those skinny four-legged monsters (don't know their real name) always die like that. Watch the 2010 Crafting Sanctuary panel (part 2 a little after 10:15) when they demonstrate the deaths of several monsters in a line up. One of those monsters is in the line up and it does the crazy explosion death that breaks it apart as its normal death animation... so yeah... -
Jul 9, 2011ScorchHellfire posted a message on DiabloCast XVII - Hardcore Is Too HardcoreWhen Gamescom is has no bearing on when the beta is... Even if they made a new demo for it, it would take at least a few weeks to plan what they were going to have in it and to actually prepare it... You don't just slap together a demo in a few hours by taking a build and cutting out the stuff you don't want people to see... Plus they want devs working on the actual game, not using their valuable time putting together a new demo when beta is just around the corner...Posted in: News

Jun 29, 2011ScorchHellfire posted a message on Diablo III: Book of CainPosted in: NewsThe reasoning behind this is simply because anyone who purchases the CE will not really be getting what they've paid for: Collectibles. This particular item would not really be considered a collectible, as it can just be attained by anyone, separate from the CE itself, prior to the game being released. Usually Blizzard tries to keep items in the CE unique, so those of us that prefer to purchase the CE, can feel like we're actually obtaining some awesome goodies.
Not quite... While they certainly don't release things that will be in CE before it is released, they have definitely made things from a CE available seperately after it's release many times in the past... In fact, I think every art book, soundtrack, and behind-the-scenes (or cinematics in the case of earlier CE's) DVD have been released seperately from their respective CE's a little while after the game itself is released... - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
