Not everyone is privy to the knowledge you are. This may be difficult for you, but try to put yourself in someone else's shoes. Imagine, for the sake of argument, that you had lived your life up to this moment without knowing coffee was an incredibly dangerous substance.

    ...

You can't afford rehab if you're broke, and you can't avoid a trap you don't know exists.
Yeah, it's really simple to pretend someone who is the same age or younger than most of us would somehow be lacking knowledge of the extremely bad consequences of doing drugs, seeing as they don't cram it through your eyes and ears through your entire education, they don't make consistent references to it in popular media, and they totally make it accessible in your local liquor store.

    Oh wait hold on.

So basicly you are just pissed that you didn't have the exclusive rights to MF....

Nope, just pissed that Hammerdin bots are about 70% of the Diablo 2 community at the moment, thanks to Enigma.

Personally, I think Runewords really messed up Diablo II. I hate 'em. I always played a Sorceress and I had a lot of fun Magic Finding, until Enigma showed up and everyone could do it with twice the efficiency and no worries about immunities. You have things like Azurewrath, the sword used to destroy the f***ing Worldstone, that you can wield, but instead you'll go for a runeword. It sucks.

-One of my favorite item names is Harlequin Crest Shako, just because it's so hard to say.
-Undead Crown Crown, because we would always make fun of it.
-The Atlantean Ancient Sword, fantastic name and the night we were trying to get it, it was 3 AM and I said "Okay just one more run, then I have to sleep" and it dropped off of Diablo.
-There will always be a spot in my heart for The Meat Scraper.
-A lot of the lore items were cool too (i.e. Arm of King Leoric, Bul-Kathos' Wedding Band)

And really anything with one of those weird ethnic sounding names that was so memorable, like The Iron Jang Bong War Staff, or Bing Sz Wang, or Kuko Shakaku.

posted a message on Diablo III Magic Find
First off, I would like to say this is my first thread in these particular forums (third post, I'm a lurker) so bear with me if this topic has been addressed.

    My question is:
How do you think Magic Find will function in Diablo III, pertaining to the idea of separate loot? Do you think it will be like Diablo II, where only the last-hitter's Magic Find is calculated? Do you think it will be a cumulative pool of Magic Find wealth, with diminishing returns? And would it apply to each character in the party, or would it only apply to the loot dropped for the bearer of the Magic Find gear?

Being an adamant MFer in D2, I would like to see a significant change in mechanics when dealing with parties. If you happen to have the most Magic Find in your group of friends on D2, you must get the last hit on a boss, and that can be frustrating when 4 mercenaries are wailing away. There is a lot of room for innovation in Diablo III for this particular trait, with the addition of separate loot, and I hope Blizzard runs with it.

posted a message on The hardware used to kill Diablo
    CPU: Intel Core i5 M 580 @ 2.67GHz (x4)

GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

    RAM: 8192MB DDR3 SDRAM

MOBO: Whatever the hell the default is in the Sony Vaio VPCEB390X, I can't find this anywhere.

PSU: 19.5V Sony AC Adapter :D

    DRIVES: Toshiba MK5056GSY (500GB)

    CASE: Sony Vaio

    MONITOR+RES: Asus VH232H, 1920x1080

Gets the job done, even at work where I do a fair amount of gaming. Can run SC2 at max settings (apart from Anti-Aliasing) so I imagine it will be adequate for Diablo 3. Really I'm just hoping for a new sound system by then, perhaps with a mini-equalizer + tube amp? And the Steelseries mouse! I'll be set for years of demon slaying.

posted a message on Which Class to Play?
I have three friends who are about as obsessed with Blizzard as myself, so we are working on building an effective full team of four. One friend has been infatuated with the Necromancer since day 1 of Diablo 2, so he is going the closest route by choosing the :wd: . I've shown every video and summarized the articles on DiabloFans to another friend, and he has his heart set upon the :wiz: and his/her awesome runestone effects thus far. The third (my brother) ends up playing some kind of magic user or support in most games, and he is considering going a different build of the :wiz: , or perhaps the :monk: .

Given this, I am more than content on playing the remaining two classes, my Number One choice being the :barb: (too many years as a healer, it's time to get mad), with the :dh: following closely behind (mostly because I just finished playing Diablo 1 again, playing as the Rogue class).

Hopefully the team will be rounded enough to rub :d3d: 's face in the dirt.
