Wanted to let you guys know that I have kicked off a data-gathering effort to determine this. Here are the details (from main d3 forum):

I have a spreadsheet setup. I'm gonna have to trust people not to wreck it and I'm going to leave it open for public edit.

Play a night and take a screen cap of every piece of ilvl60, 61, 62, or 63 armor with a single resist on it (lightning resist, physical resist, etc). After the night, hop on here and just fill in your drops from the screen caps. Won't take you but a few minutes. Single resist are extremely common (on something like 70-80% of gear, I think), so it shouldn't take too long. I have the charts all up and ready to go, but they are meaningless until our sample size improves.

Who will help me? Let's end this debate. What we're looking for is a trend that says the affix rank distribution from gear from Act 3 and 4 are better than the distribution of affix ranks from act 1.

    https://docs.google....MXIwbWczY0dKY1E

Wanted you to be aware and extend an invitation to contribute if you're interested.

Awesome, its looking really good and hopefully will produce fruitful results. I will participate in this project and will be collecting +resistance information In Act 1-3 depending on what act is actually farmed that particular day. Thank you

It would take an epic data gathering exercise, for sure. But then, look at the work that has been done around MF%, I've been amazed by the glorious work people have done gathering and analyzing data there.

Personally, I think it is extremely unlikely that there would be different affix generation for the same ilvl item depending on where it dropped. It seems to conflict with the whole purpose of ilvls and having different ilvl drop rates in different acts. However, there are a number of very vocal people who swear blind that they're getting better affixes more frequently in later acts and that they have the millions in AH sales to prove it. Selective memory? Human brain's great ability to see patterns where none exist? Who knows.

I do not know if I should be wearing my tin foil cap or have my brain CT scanned because I am feeling a bit similar to all those other individuals who say more difficult acts drop better loot. I have a Witch Doctor that was used to farm Act 1 Inferno w/ over 300% MF (buffed) for about a month. The only thing I found was Blackthorne's Medal which was a viable upgrade for my Barbarian and worth about 2 million on the the AH. I took a break with farming on my Witch Doctor and started putting together some magic find gear for my Barbarian. He currently has 268% MF (buffed) and began farming Act 2 inferno. It has been 2-3 days and I have found 2 items that have sold for 5 million gold each. I earned 10 million gold in a few days.

Act 2 compared to Act 1 seems to be dropping items that have +critical hit chance/damage and +resistance to all more frequently. Not only is it found more frequently but the stat rolls are higher. I never found a +all to resistance item with 30-40+ resists in Act 1. So far I found a helm with +80 dex, +120 vit, 6.0% critical hit chance and +71 all resistances. I found a pair of boots with 18% magic find, 12% faster movement speed, 40 str, 80 vit and +63 resistance to all. I did find some weapons with around 700-850 base damage but the stats were not something that could sell for very well, a few hundred thousand at best. I found (2) 5 prop Black Smith plans, In Act 1 I could only find (4) prop plans and I kept finding the same ones over and over. I found (1) flawless star topaz jewel crafting plan off of a goblin in Act 2, A friend also told me today he found the same plan off of a goblin in Act 2.

I have no idea if there is a reason for this or if its just pure chance and perhaps those type of items could be dropping in Act 1 as well, but for some reason did not ever drop while I was farming there. As it has been said no one really knows why it appears to be happening this way. Statistically speaking it makes no sense at all and all specific item levels should have an equal chance of rolling quality stats no matter where they were found in the world. Perhaps there is some unknown data yet to be discovered that explains this phenomenon.

Thank you Riptide and Thundersteele for correcting the outdated information. I will correct the OP.

If I understand everyone correctly what is being said is that item levels each have their own pool of possible affixes that can be rolled. Item level 60, 61, 62 and 63 are all different but may have similar affixes that can be rolled. These values may be increased or decreased depending on the item level. Example: Item level 60 could roll the Life on Hit affix but the value will be much lower were as item level 63 values will be much higher.

Also if I am understanding this information correctly the item level affix's will be rolled on the item no matter where the item is dropped. All item level 63 items will be rolled with the same affix values regardless of where the item was found.

To clarify I was not thinking about other types of monsters dropping different types or items or have an increased chance of dropping specific types of items. I am strictly curious to learn if item level 63's roll the same type of affixes across the board, regardless of where the item dropped. I thank you for that added information its certainly something to consider and think about.

I believe that I now have a better understanding, if however I seem to be missing something from someones point of view please let me know.

Thank you all for sharing your opinions and information, I really appreciate it.

I understand that each Act has a specific percent in which item levels can drop. According to the information bellow It states that an item level 63 item has a 4.8% chance to drop in Act 1 Inferno. Act 3 has a 16.3% chance.
    • Inferno – Act I
      • iLvl 61: 23.9%, up from 17.7%
      • iLvl 62: 12.6%, up from 7.9%
      • iLvl 63: 4.8%, up from 2.0%
    • Inferno – Act II
      • iLvl 61: 23.3%, up from 18.6%
      • iLvl 62: 18.6%, up from 12.4%
      • iLvl 63: 9.3%, up from 4.1%
    • Inferno – Act III and Act IV
      • iLvl 61: 27.1%, up from 24.1%
      • iLvl 62: 21.7%, up from 16.1%
      • iLvl 63: 16.3%, up from 8.0%
Now that we know the chance of which item level can drop per act, I would like to know if item level stat rolls matter per act? What I mean is does the stat roll get pulled from one database of stats for that particular item level? or is there a separate pool of stats based on the act that the item dropped in?
For example, a Item level 63 pair of gloves drop in Act 1 Inferno. Could there be a reasonably good chance that the stats rolled on that item in that Act can come out to be the same or similar stats found on a Item level 63 pair of gloves found in Act 3 Inferno?

I have not been able to locate any reliable information that can help me better understand how stat rolls work or how they may or may not vary depending on Act.

Does anyone have any best guessed or official information in regards to this?

There are quite a few DH's on the official forum that farm Act 3 in full MF. It all depends on how good of a MF set you can get. Some of their MF sets are better than most players normal progression sets.

Thank you for your feedback. I'll head over there and poke around..

Yes but I run as co-op, 3 man team, I run full MF 333%, my DH mate runs ~200 odd but has a solid 50k dps. And we have a CM wiz in full AR/int gears who makes it possible.

Im the buff bot, I rock bone chill frost nova, time warp slow time and the arcane debuff arcane torrent.

We have got incredible loot this way. ( I have 2 stormshields in 2 days, and 2 perfect roll DH and Wiz gloves ( crit dmg, crit % and primary stat and vit ). And a shield for wizards I sold a few days ago for 60mil.

Thank you for your feed back. Do you think there is anyone who can run full mf gear solo? maybe a tank docta or barb?

I would like to know if anyone still playing is able to farm Act III in full magic find gear? If not, how much are you currently able to stack (unbuffed and without NV stacks) on your gear and still survive? Also what class are you using to farm Act III.

I am simply curious, I had the idea of trying to acquire the gear to stack about 250% magic find (unbuffed and without NV stacks) but I would enjoy reading some feedback to find out if this is even currently possible. Thanks

posted a message on Looking for a Guild/Community
Hi, I'm currently seeking a guild to join. I am over the age of 18 and I have put a good amount of time into playing this game. I have 5 level 60 characters. 2 of them progressed to act 3 inferno and 1 of them have progressed to act 4 inferno. I have managed to kill all bosses from act 1-3 inferno solo. Its not a huge feat but it does illustrate my commitment thus far.

I am kinda bored of playing solo and would like a guild to interact with during my free time and while playing this game. Are there currently any guilds seeking casual adult players? if so please respond with your guilds information and I will be sure to check in to it.

    Thanks

Well I would not go as far as saying "trollin" I assumed it was just a ha ha funny joke on their part... I mean hitting 1 million "likes" is HUGE and just to have the same art work re-posted is like a kick to muh balls! and it HURTS like a muthafuka! But oh well I hoping for an early beta release. Sorry I doubted you guys :D
