Thanks for compiling all this information Phrozen,
Here is my score
5/5 Easy
2/5 Medium
0/5 Hard
0/1 Master
That was much harder than I expected. ( read the first book about a couple months ago, and I am working on the 3rd one now, while reading Archive at the same time )

Real cool. I was actually wondering about this today.
I got to Hell difficulty for the first time today, and I was wondering... Is this the end? I hope not! (don't get me wrong it is hard as is)
I always wondered why there were all these special pandemonium and uber bosses in D2. (never got there though)
Great news to hear! It is also good that they are making all areas of equal level once your reach that inferno difficulty, it should be more fun that way.

Jun 13, 2011ZTZaorish posted a message on Sanctuary Speculation: ImperiusDisclaimer: Although I have not read the Diablo books, (As I am not in the U.S currently and have not been able to get my hands on a book yet.) I have tried to keep up with a majority of the posts about Lore and Lore discussion.Posted in: News
I also believe Lore may at times lead to too much speculation and not enough core ideas about what the producers may think is good for the game. (but don't get me wrong, I love Lore)
First of all,
Great article!
Second,
I would like to discuss when we will see Imperius.
I am going to assume that the boss from the D3 cinematic is going to be last boss in D3. Since Blizz always seems to show last bosses in their cinematics. (D1,D1 Hellfire, D2, D2 expansion)
I am also going to assume that Imperius is way to cool/powerful to be an earlier boss.
This leads me to believe that Imperius will be a final boss in an expansion of D3, probably the first.
Why?
What else would make me want to buy the expansion more than having the ability to fight a badass angel boss being included?
...
Well... nothing really.
For some reason I feel that if they included fighting angels in the basic game, then they would not being able to introduce it as a "new" idea in the subsequent expansion.
Please let me know what you think.

I remember hearing about it on the forceSC2Strategy podcast.
It seems the story will end after all these expansions, then the next Diablo related thing may be an MMO.
That last part is speculation, but I recall Sixen and others discussing this and saying that Blizz was planning on making their franchises into MMO's eventually.
I hope I am wrong.

Interesting opinions about the difficulty throughout the game.
Here are my what I hope for in terms of difficulty, (not necessarily what I expect)
Normal - This has a little challenge, but can still be fairly easy. (the easy part will probably be the first 2 or 3 acts, I am hoping that at last act 4 ramps up it just a little. Personally I would hate to beat normal and be like, wow that took absolutely no strategy at all.)
Nightmare- A significant step up, and hopefully a good challenge.
Hell - Not the Diablo 2 Hell where you get 3 shotted by the first zombie you see, but a step down from that. Still quite challenging.
Inferno - A challenge for the real men. Things probably won't insta kill you,(no potions in D3), but they will make you pay for you mistakes very quickly. That being said I hope it is ridiculously hard. I also hope that they never nerf it, if they deem the difficulty appropriate.
I agree with you EscapistFred on the immunity thing, it is somewhat ridiculous that a whole talent tree (EX: sorceress talent tree) is rendered useless against a certain monster.
I am glad you pointed out that the difficulty of D3 is more of a "skill" unlike the D2 difficulty which is more about getting the right gear.
I completely forgot to take into account the amount of skills we can use easily this time. It should be quite interesting!

This makes me wonder...
How will the hell difficulty of D3 compare to the Hell difficulty of D2?
Personally I believe that D3Hell<D2Hell (D2 Hell is harder)
These are my four reasons (some of these are more or less valid than others)
1. I have the impression that reaching level 60 in D3 will be easier than reaching level 99 in D2. (I think we can all agree on that right.
Therefore leveling your character will be easier, and this will make getting to the end of Hell easier.
2. Blizzard had claimed that they would not have monsters in D3 with complete immunities to a spell type or physical damage. (only resistances)
3. I may not have played D3 Hell yet, but I remember getting to Hell with my Barbarian a couple days ago and seeing him go from being awesome (in nightmare) to barely able to kill a Zombie. (in Hell)
4. If Hell difficulty in D3 is higher than in D2, then how hard will inferno be? @.@
(essentially this would cut out many people who want to try to complete the game in at least the first 3 difficulties)
Discuss
P.S: I think inferno mode will give me nightmares.

LOLZ dude.
I love when you see Wakka's look. (after Tydus starts laughing)
then Yuna goes: "You probably shouldn't laugh anymore"
...cold as ice...
Thanks a lot for posting that, it gave me the LOLZ!
And about DMC4, thanks for giving me a heads up. (the controls seem weird but once you get used to them they are ok. At least for me)

I was wondering about that 7sided Strike too. It seems he is moving too fast to be hit. Hm... who knows?

I am currently grinding gear just for the fun, and challenge of beating Ball on Hell difficulty. (I was never hardcore with D2, I only completed normal before, just finished nightmare earlier this week for the first time)
I was a kid back then, I just thought about having fun, not which spec was "viable" and such.

Well, I don't have a massive RPG experience, but I have some.
I agree completely with FFX, it is the best RPG I have ever played. (in term of many things, but especially in terms of dragging you into the story you literally forget about the world around you when you play that)
That game got me pretty emotional. (never happens when I play any other game.)
Tidus...Yuna....Nooo!!!! >.<
About Devil may cry, that used to be my favorite game for PS2.
Here is the order of how good they are.
Devil May Cry 1 - Awesome
Devil May cry 3 - Great
Devil May Cry 2 - Straight garbage
Devil May Cry 4 - I have no idea...(is that out already?)
If you like DMC then you will also love Onimusha, I believe it is the same company. (although I am not sure which of the games are the best, but I remember enjoying the 1st, and the 3rd.)
I didn't play them that much, but yeah.
You can also try onimusha Blade warriors, it is like super smash, except with Onimusha characters, I had countless hours of fun with my buddy playing that game.
Did you played 7th Saga for the ZSNES, I thought it was a different, and fun concept.

What the shitface has done? You mean attempt to clean up after 2 terms of Bush? That is no easy task, and you are clearly under-estimating the difficulty of it.
Instead of seeing how the country is now. Imagine what would have happened if he hadn't been there? I am sure the country would be in great shape!
I agree with some of Ron's points, and he is very knowledgeable as well as consistent. I believe that either Obama or him would do a good job next term.
I would still prefer Obama, as I agree with more of his ideologies.
Thanks for posting this link! (I can't remember who posted)

Kaivax a Blue replied by saying this I see a lot of people being interested in the direction of the music that D3 will take, and I have not been able to find a specific forum post about it so here we go.
Which direction do you think the team will take with the music in D3?
In my personal opinion they chose music that was "fitting" to each area.
That being said I am convinced by gameplay videos in such that we will have "dark" and "gothic" areas (especially in act 1) to satisfy people who long for the D1 type of music.
Additionally there will be many different types of music depending on the area you are in, and I believe they will all keep you entranced in the world.
For some reason I am a lot more positive about the outcome of this aspect of the game as I am about others.
What do you think?

D1 was darker than D2. But D2 was way better. I can't stand when people who rip it on just because it didn't have a constant "dark atmosphere". So what if it didn't match every single aspect that you expected, the developers cannot match every expectation that you have.
Additionally, I think it would get quite old if the game was like that on every single level.
In my opinion D2 is way better than D1, but I love both.
I am also sure that D3 will be better than D2. They put so much work into it. Unless they start selling legendary items at their official store than I am sure that it will be better.
Although I must say, as a SC:BW fan I was really disappointed by SC2. The campaign was awesome, but the multiplayer is a joke. Yes, I am in master league and I know what real balance is in multiplayer, and they just tried to do too much with it. They should have just stuck to the recipe :/
Sorry for the rant, but I am pretty opinionated on this matter.
Anyways,
Hope my experience helps this discussion.
