So, they are announcing 1 trillion buffs and one single nerf and people still complain about the nerf?

The game is probably getting so easy that Inferno will look like Hell with all those buffs to characters and nerfs to monsters. You really want to complain about a nerf to a incredibly easy to make freeze-locking build?
Are you kidding me? While I agree that we should hold out until we see all the buffs, this "one" nerf is affecting the most popular wizard build right now. Hardly anyone played a melee wizard before this and it takes expensive gear to efficiently use this build. Not to mention even with godly gear (I play with a top 10 wiz on diabloprogress with gear worth over 1bil), we still die MANY times to any combo of vortex/chain/jailer/desecrator/shield/mortar. Not to mention the build is practically worthless against fast/projectile mobs like those spear chuckers, fat fireball mobs and moloks in a3. I could easily play a range kiting build and die 10x less but those are so boring. I'll reserve my final judgment till all the patch notes are out but this is a huge nerf for WW/CM wiz.

    Quote from Deja

    Zone-kill them.

Find a zoning portal. Port in, throw 1 Arcane/celestial orb, port out. If you do this fast enough, the mobs wont be able to hit you in time. This will kill them slowly but surely. If you have diamond skin in your build, you can do

    1) DS
    2) port in
    3) Empty your AP bar or until DS breaks
    4) port out
    5) wait for DS cooldown to be back up
    6) repeat.

Cheesy, but thats how I deal with retarded elite packs. Stupid mobs requires stupid strategies. :facepalmsign:
lol i do this too, i don't think it's stupid, i think shields, vortex, mortars, etc are stupid. whatever works!

The new system is fine with leveling, but why not just add rank 5-7 runes in hell/inferno to combine the best of both worlds? Having rank5-7 runes as physical loot items will be manageable inventory wise, and will appease people who want them as items (myself included).

I understand Jay's reasoning for changing, but I don't see how it couldn't be the old system. I would use the first iteration of the rune system, have rank 1-7 runes of 5 different types drop through out the game. If it's an inventory problem, have a seperate storage for the runes (just like how everyone kept the cube in their inven for more space, this could be stored in town or something in a chest or w/e). I don't see how hard it is to be able to stack infinite amount of Rank 3 Crimson rune in one item slot; inventory problem solved. Let's be honest here, no one is going to save up rank 1-4 runes after being in inferno, those lower ranks would only be used during normal/nightmare. One you pop a rune, it would be destroyed if you wanted to remove it to put in another rune.

If you want to try a new skill, gotta find that rune and since rank 7's would be much harder to obtain, why not be able to combine 3 rank6 runes to get a rank7 like upgrading gems in D2? Now all the problems of inventory is solved, runes are still physical loot items, and rarity is not such a super concern for uber rank runes b/c they can be combined from lower tiers. Since people will always be trying new builds, runes will still be valueble in the economy. Am I missing anything here?
