posted a message on Fifteenth Batch of Screenshots and Art
The Diablo face in the watermark alongside this amazing piece artwork of the new Diablo just makes it look bad. Drop the face and just leave it as Diablofans.com imo. Is there an original source without the watermark? This can easily be made into an incredible wallpaper. (which clearly I want)

Edit: Shrink the size of the watermark as well, it's way too big.

posted a message on Things that concern me about D3
I'm not the type of person to look at D2 and want it to be D3. So I literally have zero concerns with what they are doing. Change is good and it's exciting to be given the opportunity to play a new iteration of the Diablo franchise that is at it's core the same as the previous games but with many new systems to explore. Will we want to play it for 10+ years? You won't know the answer to that question until we start playing it. No point in worrying about something you can't control. Just play the game and if you enjoy it, you'll keep playing for years to come.

posted a message on This Week's Poll: Will You PvP?
I'm a pure HC player so I'll most likely level 5 core PvE characters then offload excess gear into PvP characters so I'll care less when they die.

posted a message on Character Name Formatting
I've been wondering this myself as I haven't seen any details on the naming system being used. My best guess is you'll have a login name tied to your b.net account e-mail for logging in which will have to be unique. Then character names will be WoW style but not need to be unique. At least that's what I hope they do, I hate not being able to name my characters the way I want. >:|

posted a message on May 9th Conference Call
Everyone seems to be overlooking the fact that Blizzcon would be the optimal place to announce the final retail release date for Diablo 3, which would be a huge announcement and appropriate for Blizzcon. Given that the game will either come out at the end of 2011 or the start of 2012, this announcement is highly likely to occur during Blizzcon. There's also the incentive to release at the end of 2011 because of the Christmas rush, it's the optimal time to release software.

These kinds of events are bigger and more important than a Beta start date and some final game systems I would think. So optimistically, the timeline might look like the conference call which announces some important dates over the next couple months (final systems shortly followed by beta). Then Blizzcon would announce the final release date and discuss the overall product as well as discussing the development, which serves as a nice hype/advertisement move.

posted a message on Passing through Charcter Models?
Judging from the fact that each class has a skill to essentially pass through/over/around monsters/players I would assume there would be collision with all other players and NPC's. I would prefer this personally because it makes PvP combat more interesting by allowing the ability to pin a player in place with summons if your a WD, forcing the use of the movement skills of each class. Otherwise wouldn't they be sort of pointless?

posted a message on Why D3 Engine is already out-dated
First post! This thread is rediculous so I couldn't help but post.

Blizzard's game design has always been about choosing an art style appropriate for the game they want to make and then tailoring the game engine to that specific style. This includes the characters, environment, special effects (spells, etc.), and storytelling so that everything looks like it all fits into the world. At the same time making sure that a wide variety of PC's can play the game to maximize their player base. Making a game that has high end graphics for the sake of high end graphics is BAD game design.

Considering how successful Blizzard is as a developer, it's hard to argue against them...
