I have mixed feelings about this.
Holding my vote until I actually play the beta/retail.
I really loved the dark creepy atmosphere of Diablo 1 and 2. I did use maphacks offline when me and my friends were doing quick runs to Nightmare/Hell and didn't want to waste time looking for the true Tal Rasha's Tomb, but never with the "infinite sight" mode, just map revealing function.
While playing the Blizzcon 2010 demo I didn't really miss it, as the gameplay was so solid and the game so fun that I was hypnotized, specially playing the Demon Hunter. Then again, it had almost no creepy feeling to it, and that's something I would miss in a single player run.

So that would average 4 Acts about 2 weeks each, which is around 2 months then and not less but that's only for the really crazy people who would play Inferno for 2 months straight.
Here is the complete Blue post:

This was really a reaction to Inferno playtesting. Our original intent was to have a flat difficulty level where you could go wherever you want, farm for items, and it'd be no more or less difficult than any other area in Inferno. This caused a few inherent issues for us, though:
Specifically, people in D2 did Diablo runs, Mephisto runs, Pindleskin runs, Pit runs, Baal runs, etc. because the loot in Diablo is extremely random. Even though the theoretical best items might come from the later Acts, well-rolled items from earlier acts will still be better. Internally we find sometimes after an intense session of brutally hard Inferno it can be really fun to cruise through Hell Act III or IV and it’s not too uncommon surprise when an upgrade drops. We expect this to carry through to Inferno difficulty where somebody who can theoretically farm Act IV will likely still enjoy romping through Act I simply because the drop potential is still there. It’s all because of the highly random items having lots of overlap in their power distribution curves.
So, let's see if you can really beat Inferno in two weeks or even in just a month's time. I bet you'll end up eating your pride especially if you don't get lucky with great loot drops.

Oh, and about last week's entry winner...
Frankly, the contest feels more like a fluke.
From what you guys said, it's a Caption Contest & I don't know how an entry without any captions at all won by any way unless he is a... I wonder... hmmmmmmmn...

It seems that the artists at Blizzard made a funny idiotic & lame way of holding a shield.
In the newly leaked Diablo III Beta photos, you can see the arm of both the Mage & the Barbarian going right through both the shield's arm brace & handle bar. First of all, the arm cannot go through the handle bar.
In these photos, you can clearly see the distal radius & ulna, plus the whole hand is protruding way out of proportion:
However small a shield or a buckler may be, a warrior's arm can't go through both the arm brace & handle bar. For one thing, they wont have any control on the shield which will twist around their arm.
Shouldn't a shield be held this way? Only the arm goes thru the arm brace for support while the hand is free to hold the handle bar tight for control:
Aw c'mon Blizzard, please fix this before you release the game so that the characters won't look stupid holding a shield the wrong way.

It's like buying blindly, which I think Blizzard will not condone, with being fair & everything.
Just like a real AH, you need to know what you're bidding for.
Besides, only an idiot or a very rich douche bag would waste his wad not knowing what he's getting.

Did EA Sports beat Josh Mosqueria's team to the console version?

Jay Wilson may have said that Inferno has a flat-level system so people will not choose where to grind & farm the content for the best gear, but that doesn't mean that Inferno would be a child's play that you could just whizz through with ease in a week or so.
People should listen more closely to what Jay is saying & really hear him out, because according to Jay in this two interview videos, Inferno would really, really be a very hard & difficult level that you'll need to make many more runs in Hell (listen to his explanation from time stamp 1:00 up to 1:52 here: http://www.pcgames.de/Diablo-3-PC-27763/News/Diablo-3-Video-Interview-von-der-Gamescom-Auktionshaus-Online-Zwang-Inferno-und-mehr-840078/)
before you're character would be suitably equipped for the task of facing the HORDES OF MONSTERS WHOSE MINIMUM LEVEL IS 61 (now listen to him from time stamp 0:43 up to 1:02 only:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGTcyLdZrqE).

On the side, I just want to remind NOOBS & those who never got to play through the HELL difficulty of Diablo II that Inferno most likely would be a difficulty level that you'll only get to hear, but will never get to play.
Since Blizzard designed it to be really, really hard, only the dedicated & die-hard players of Diablo II who were able to reach Hell difficulty will most likely be the only ones to reach the end-game content.
So, you can wish whatever you want it to be, but in the end, you'll only be able to play it in your dreams...
