My name is Ron, 60 yrs old from Seattle Wa. I am married for 35 years and have 4 grown kids and many grandkids and 2 great grandkids. I am retired but spent 20 years as an addictions counselor. Spent many years working construction and welding jobs as a shipfitter and was in the Coast Guard for 4 years. I love music ( not rap or country ) and probably like blues, smooth jazz and classical the most. Favorite artists: Dave Coz, Boney James, David Sanborn, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Vivaldi, and many others. I love Italian food, but good old meat and spuds will do. Favorite movies: Jerimiah Johnson ( Redford ), Hunt for Red October, Legends of the Fall, Iron Man. I like Criminal Minds, CSI, NCIS and love reality crime shows. I enjoy time with family and the outdoors. I am a writer on the side and sell my work to the highest bidder lol. Mostly humor, short stories and some tech writing for various addiction/recovery trade publications. We have 3 dogs who are like our kids. Also love D2 LOD and am looking forward to D3.

probably a smart move in the long run. If school is important to you then backin down was a good thing. Don't know how much longer you have till graduation but life is too damn important to let a few knuckle draggin, mouth breathin troglodytes screw things up for ya.

    Quote from Ophion

It snowed for a few hours at 5 Celsius here as well. There is another word for half melted snow probably, I'm just too lazy to look up the translation right now.

We always called it slop when i was growing up Ophion

You are right Meph. I smoked for 40 years and didn't stop until I had a heart attack and a leg amputation due to diabetes. I was in the hospital on morphine and decided if i was ever to stop it should happen at that point. It is true that some can set down the cigarettes and its easy then there are others who have to be in dire trouble before they will quit. I was an addictions counselor for 20 years and alcohol and nicotine addiction were the hardest for patients to overcome. I believe in part because they are both legal substances and not viewed with as much negative as other drugs.

I would suspect that the fat cats are losing alot of sleep worrying about what we think. By the way is it alright for a believer ( christian ) to be on these forums? Most of these posts reflect the thoughtfulness and intelligence you all exhibit. There are personality and belief differences but all in all I enjoy the discourse.

And the politicians will bask in the afterglow. I hope we are on high alert... retribution by these fanatics could be huge.... just a thought.

My time in the service taught me two things... 1 how to survive in adverse conditions...2 uncle sam will only divulge what he wants to. There are so many things that go on daily that only the very top officials are aware of. Part of the secrecy revolves around the fact that the majority of the citizens are unaware or don't care whats going on. It makes it easy to sensationalize things like an end to bin laden. I would take this whole affair with a grain of salt. I hope its true.
