Just as a random (semi relevant thought)..... why do so many Diablo fans have this conflicting desire for a darker game but at the same time want to fight in Heaven a place that should for no reason be dark but, rather bright and vibrant.

    WAIT!!!!!!...... Tyrial is black?

Disclaimer: It's a joke don't flip out on me...

I would question the standard for death in this case. Your referring to the death of the body for a moment, but what of the mind and spirit.

Your "mind" is just chemicals and electric impulses in your body. And your mind is dead the moment your physical shell stops to produce the chemicals/electricity it needs to maintain its functions...it needs to stop for some time, your brain wont take dmg the moment the organs stop to work but if you exceed the timelimit your "mind" dies.

The "spirit" part is a little tricky... because thats just an other concept like god. You cant prove the existence of a spirit so you cant say what happes to it (if it exists) after your physical shell is dead.

I would argue that your take on the mind is limited. What if the mind is simply a medium for what is actually the mind. There are many case of people with brain damage being able to under stand whats going on around them but not be able to articulate or communicate. This would be a clear indication that the medium for the mind is the problem and not the mind it's self. The "understood" concept of what is the mind to most people with just the physical brain.

On the note of the spirit I don't have much to say on the matter. Because it's not so clear of an arguable topic and rather than make up ideas I'll leave it be.

I believe the truth is there to be seen for those willing to see it.

The closest you're going to get to substinative truth is through evidence, experimentaiton, and understanding of the principal laws the govern the universe you inhabit.

    Quote from akainu

I would ask how do you know and what if your wrong?

The question was "how did he (the person claiming to KNOW god existed) know." Perfectly valid.

What if he's wrong? Pascal's Wager. If he's wrong, well, he's wrong. An omnipotent being knows what you think. It knows if you're being genuine. It isn't going to be fooled if you are simply accepting something out of the fear you might be wrong. And more importantly, what if YOU are wrong? There are so many diffirent religions and dogmas out there. You've got just as much chance to be wrong as anyone else does.

You dodged the what if YOU are wrong part.(I might be wrong about that, but I don't see your answer per say against sorry if it's just me) That being said lets not assume I'm ignorant of other religions. I tend to know more than I care to about many other religions. To the extent that I'm wrong and there is not God and my life ends, whats the problem? I lived my life acording to what I believed to be true, is there any reason for me to have regrets at that point. (for that matter if I was wrong then that's then end and I'd stop existing and I'd never know, again not a big deal)

I think that covers my what if I'M wrong section.

Well techically a person can die and come back to life...heart stopping and all that. It has happened. As far as I know they didn't go to some special place briefly before coming back. Or what do we consider "proper dying"? Sometimes I feel we are really tied to this world physically in life and after life and make a far too big of a deal of this death thing. Sometimes not

Sorry I'm sort of random :wd:

I agree that he is asking an unreasonable thing lol. I think he pretty much knows this too. The proof he is asking for does not exist to my knowledge.

I believe the truth is there to be seen for those willing to see it. To clarify: think of those Sci-fi movies, show, and/or books that depict aliens or some other life form as greater and/or mysterious to us. There are 2 basic reactions that are rather revealing of the "human condition". The first is distrust, fear, hatred, and the like for one reason or another. The second is Awe, wonder, respect, curiosity, and others that follow the like. Bringing this bake to my first statement, the ones more "able to see the truth are the ones not afraid of it. This is not to say that everyone that doesn't see the truth is afraid of it, but it would account for a large degree. If you don't mind I would like to use one of your previous stamens as a reference. You claim that you left A church after they claimed that know God. While I can't say for sure they do or not myself. I would ask how do you know and what if your wrong? Couldn't your objection to the idea someone(s) know God be viewed as fear or distrust? Now this isn't something that is uncommon. People fear people places and things all the time for one reason or another. Even without "good reason" some times. The key, at least as I see it, is to determine if and what might be keeping you from the truth. Just to clarify again I'm not calling any one a coward or anything of the like just that with the way I see things people fear and turn from what they fear rather quickly.

Sorry if there are any grammatical/spelling problems. (not my strong suite)

@Akainu-If you read any of my other posts you would know my philosophy and why I believe in these claims:

There is no good and bad.
    There is no you.
    There is no me.
    THERE IS NO SPOON.
Everything and nothing exists all at once.
    There simply is one.
Everything else is subjective to perception.
And you define your own reality. So do with it what you will

I base these claims upon the metaphysical inquiry of like minded individuals such as Descartes, Plato, Socrates...e.t.c.

To that I say can that one that is all no be God? Also there is left the problem of origin. The biggest problem I have is just assuming "everything" just is. Now I realize that the same could be said of the existence of God. This brings me back to the idea in a previous post that we as humans far too often try to limit God so that we can understand Him. To that end I would say that that in and of it's self is arrogance.

Here is a question for you. What is there that you can think of that does not exist?

Define the word exist. Because even ideas exist. If you are referring to proving the existence of something, please read the OP. The point of the thread was to prove something exists in a way that can be physical perceived one way or the other by our own senses.

This goes into different concepts behind God. He wants an explanation of the "existence of God" . But, by basic reason of God doesn't he extend beyond the limited veiw we have of the universe? How can something so Omnipotent as to create everything be limited to a mere physical form. I would argue that "physical proof" might require more than some one is capable or willing to see. Can you see your soul? Can anyone? What about Spirits? The first thing to be addressed in this argument is a conflict of the question and the answer. To clarify: How would you explain theoretical physics so a child? (please don't take this as me calling anyone in this thread a child)

So yes I know what he's asking but, I'd argue he is asking for things in an unreasonable manner considering the subject.

Between atheists that just reject eveything, fanatic book followers and people trolling around these thread always deliver.

Nobody can prove God exist neither can someone prove it doesn't exist.

Though, I'm agnostic rather than atheist. I believe there might be something (Xel Naga, God, Greek God whatever), I just don't believe in books written 2K years ago. Even if some of their fact are right, it is still material facts and by no mean a proof god was dictating the hand of the writers (note the S). Don't forget Atheism is for some a form of religion which some people have become fanatics of, kinda ironic I think.

but the true believer does not need to prove there god exists

Because they are afraid to admit the truth. They do not know. Once you are able to accept the FACT that you do not KNOW anything, then you can begin to understand why we inquire over such things. Until then, continue going to church and singing your hymns with the joy of knowing that you're doing the will of God.

If you have faith in God, it means that you do not know that he exists. You can believe he exists. But unless you know he exists just as you exist, you need to be able to find a way to rationalize your belief or abandon it or accept the fact that it is a rationalized belief, not acquired knowledge.

"If you have faith in God, it means that you do not know that he exists. "

If you KNEW God existed, you would not need faith. Faith is believing in something you can not not determine any other way.

This statements is one of the main reasons I finally stopped going to church and stopped caring what they thought. That is around the time I started really getting into philosophy which helped me mold, structure, and answer questions I have had my entire life.

Jehovah's Witnesses, along with pretty much all other religious folk truly believe that they KNOW that god exists. These people do not understand the roots and true meaning of the word "Know" and it's power. There was this guy, pretty smart at my church who once said(and I'll never forget it)"...And remember, we don't think god exists...We know it". I lost what little strand of respect I had left for the organization with that one. I already knew their beliefs, but I had to hear it in that context to understand that I needed to get the hell away from there.

I would ask you in light of your statement quoted above ^. Then what are humans? What makes you so sure you exist? Is not ones reality something that one ,how ever meaningful or arbitrary, decide is truth? One of my favorite questions is this: If there is no God then what what can you ever do wrong? If the would just exists and there is no higher power, am I not well within reason to do whatever I see fit? And if so or not, then who is to determine these standards and upon what authority?

P.S. I don't think anyone by the standards you mentioned above has the right to say that anyone in this world doesn't know God exist.

I want to know what they plan to do to make it stand out from the other MOBAs. The ones out there now all have their own little quirks that make them different.

Also Blizzard didn't give birth to LoL or Dota 2.Icefrog made Dota and then took the Idea and went to Valve to make Dota 2. And I don't know the details behind LoL but I've never seen even a hint of Blizzard being involved.
