    Quote from UncleDan2017
That's the theory that games dwindle with time, but then you look at D3 competition like PoE, and you see a game that has a growing playerbase with every new league, because they consistently add content. I still jump between ARPGs, but honestly, this season I didn't see much reason to play D3 past 1 day to get the 3 pets, then I peaced out. PoE kept me going for almost 2 months and now I'm messing with Grim Dawn, and will probably also play D2 before the next PoE league.
Grim Dawn player here as well. Started the game after the end of Season 8. Now I am just switching back and forth but hardly spent much time on S9. Got the tab then peaced out. Hopefully there will be more things for us to do soon.

    A few things I notice:

    - Chapter II is missing "Transmogrify at mystic"

I have to agree on that, 5-6 days to do GR 70 from scratch seems impossible to me, I don't have enough time or patience to invest in this game for this thing...this is a really shitty design for NS players...

First, you immediately got a free 6-piece set after doing a few easily achievable objectives. Check the season journey for details. That helps speed things up A LOT. You can do pretty decent torment with shitty gears right off the bat due to the set bonus. You don't have to play 24/7. Spend like 2 hours a day and you should be able to get the tab if you know what you are doing and how to farm efficiently.
The pain will lie mostly with the conquest (required 2 to be completed for stash reward) which can either be very grindy or challenging. Some of them can be pretty fun and interesting though. My favourite is The Thrill, completing GR45 with no set bonus. Trying to get avarita now but it is super annoying to do with WD...

Second, I take this as a chance to optimize my character for classes I hardly spend time on. My WD and Barb are pretty crappy since I spent very little time on them so Season is a good place to start building them up and getting a free reward at the same time.

I had terrible time finding SMF for my WD, be it drop or rare upgrade, for the first few days after reaching level 70, and bam! suddenly got 2 of them in 2 consecutive GR. Because it sure seems like that is what you guys prefer the way you comment.

Yup. Been reading the same kind of "Loot drop is too high!" comments here as well and I cannot agree with you more. NOW,HIRE ME AS A JUNIOR GAME DEVELOPER, BLIZZARD. THANK YOU

Sry to disappoint you. The blizz people already know all that.

Fixing the game for the most dedicated players and the streamers is supereasy. Players are watching streams because they care about the game. If the game is changed in a way that it works awesome for streamers, fulltime-players and other very dedicated people, but not for the average player, why should the average player watch streams about that game, a game that has nothing to offer for his kind.

Diablo 3 is a supermainstream ARPG. It needs to be. Without the mainstream, no public interest.
Yes, you can be top#1 in the leaderboards and complain that gearing is too fast. You can also play a game where gearing takes 1500 hours and after 1200 hours you get your item and youre superproud and superhappy and its the best day of your life, but the game takes too much time for most players, so youre top#1 in a game that no one cares about.

There can't be an "elite" without the majority.

    Finally someone who understands :)
There are so many right now who feels that the more casual player base is not worthy of the game or something. They just don't realize the game would not have survived without this group who make up the majority.

I had GR90, 12 min and something on PTR normal as monk (1575 P) before reset for PTR and new patch.

I used Raiment set, shenlongs, Compass + Traveler, 40% Holy dmg, String of Ears...

    Gems: Trapped, Stricken, Simplicity's Strength

Skills: Cyclone, Dashing, Epiphany, WoTHF (Fists of Fury), Inner Sanctuary, no mantra.

Cube: Band of the Rue Chambers (50% spirit regeneration), Flying Dragon or Furnace, Depth Diggers...

I could push at least 92, but stopped PTR for now until some changes.

As a monk player I'm glad Raiment is getting some love. I'm more concerned about survival though since this set kinda....has none of it. Will test it out when it comes live. Hopefully it won't get nerfed beyond use.

it's not a bad thing when a game ends. It is a bad thing when a game is dragged on with super low droprates, though. That's not longevity, that's artificial stretching.
This, I second that. The game should keep the players interested with new challenges that will test the players' skills. Dropping the drop-rate through the floor only challenges one set of skill - not banging your head on your keyboard kind of skill XD

That being said, there has to be some balance there. I find it ok right now since having the item dropped does not mean that item is desirable. I got bunches of legendaries and ancients but the stats are far from optimal. It enables me to play on higher difficulties but I can never dream of pushing the GR so high. So the hunt continues. This is already tough enough, at least for me :)

Personally I'm not quite sure how to derive satisfaction from doing the same thing over and over for prolonged period of time just to get 1 specific gear. I almost drop D3 in its vanilla stage and start playing more in RoS (and I know some people may bash me for this but I never really enjoy D2 apart from playing the story line).

May be Bliz has finally realized that there are quite a lot of people like me and decide to expand their target audience a bit. Although right now the issue is there is not much variation in terms of challenge in the game. So I will end up feeling bored sooner or later. But at least not as fast as what happened to me in D2 and D3 vanilla.

Also, without Haedrig's gift I will never play Seasonal. Why should I? All my best builds are in non-season and you are asking me to farm for every single thing again? Within 2-3 months period? My apology, I have other things to do in life and that apparently make me a "filthy casuals" in many people's eyes :)

You probably need to reread my post a bit more. I clearly stated that we have done all that we could. If you think Bliz really is not aware of the current state of affair then I really don't know what to say. Would be relay weird if the entire player base know about the current issue and Bliz don't, eh?

But if Bliz decide to not do anything about it, then what would you do? Would you spend your entire time on this blog being angry? That is not very productive, don't you think? Would you continue nitpicking on every post Bliz make that not related to the issue at hand?

Time to move on if you are not happy. And if you decide to stay then it's time to face the fact. The game has come a long long way and it would not be a surprise if Bliz ever decide to stop updating it all together. Although that would be a very sad day indeed. But hey, may be D4? :D

Please stop trying to twist my words around into things I do not mean or put it in a complete different and incomparable context (D3 imbalance/bugs vs ISIS? Really?).

There have already been a large amount of feedback made to Bliz from the community and I am sure they are more than well aware of the issue at hand. However, whether they choose to address those or not is their own discretion. No amount of complaining or being angry will change their mind. We can go on bashing our head on the brick wall all we want. If they don't want to do a thing then they won't do a thing.

Better to just enjoy the game, or just move on, than being angry about something we cannot change, or being angry to someone who is trying to point it out to you, wouldn't you agree? :)

Blizz do not have to reveal 100% of what they are doing to you all the time now, do they? Not interested in it? Don't read it. That simple. There are many people who are different from you.

    Quote from Shapookyago-next

My solution to fix ET would be this (I already wrote this before, but I'd really like this mechanic, so I say it again :) ):

    - fix the bug where they get stuck in the environment

    - make them bounce from the walls of slow time bubbles so that wizards can "trap" them with monsters insight the bubble

    - balance the damage

It would make the playstyle easier (since you don't have to study every pixel in the environment), still let the skill be chaotic (since it still moves around) but would make ET only viable with Delseres but I don't think that's a problem.

And while I'm fixing wizard: Archon is a joke and needs changes as well. It shouldn't be all about the autocast nova from Chantodos. That's not what Archon is about...

That bouncing in the time bubble is a really nice idea. Would be pretty damn fun to see in action :)

This community doesn't deserve this game...

The game is "suddenly" disappointing and boring EVERY season 1 week after launch. Paragon system is broken, 3 supp 1 dd meta is awful. In S6 they added cosmetic items which is great.. for the first week. I still play 4-5 hours/week but all my friends left after TWO days. Whats the point of playing another S5?

No point unless you enjoy the same old gameplay, which I think a number of players still do. At least for those that have not tried every single build for every single class (I for one have not done much with WD apart from Hell Tooth set). Apart from that D3 has nth left to explore unless more contents are thrown in. And seriously why should Blizz do that? They no longer earn a single buck from this game.

Problem is Diablo is about killing monsters, and having a 4P group with the 75% supp of the group playing a build not at as intended or ever envisioned by Blizzard, with the other 25% DPS playing a build with not as intended dmg that will just get nerfed the next patch anyway
Then that would be Bliz's issues to deal with for they are the one who designs the game in such a way. Intended or not, there is no better way to push GR past 100 apart from 3 zDPS in the group. How is playing the game in the most optimized way make him a pussy? People can play however they want within what is allowed in game... your insult may be worth more if you can actually come up with 2 zDPS or 1 zDPS or none at all and go past GR 100.
Can you do that? I would hardly think so since the entire community itself cannot come up with one.

Or as Tilnan the Collector put it "You don't want to look like a peasant, do you? Why not purchase some of my dyesand give yourself a little color?"

I understand Bizzard's point of view. Honestly, I would do it the same way. Balancing in the middle of a season is not a good idea. They should only intervene if there is a game breaking bug, not for balancing. Balance changes in a running season could potentially mess everything up. Just look at what S2 did where they introduced the new patch while S1 was still active. It was a mess.

Let each season be its own entity with its own balance and its own bugs. Then fix stuff in between.

This. I second this. Short and sweet.

Only items for the class you are playing will drop (with very low chance of items for other class). If you are running DH then most of the 1-hand weapon drop will be hand crossbow (or DH dagger) with a low off chance of anything else, eg. crusader flail.

I see. Thanks for the correction. I do not play WoW and only played the RTS Warcraft and Starcraft before. D3 is my first in the series so my knowledge on RPG game by Bliz is rather limited.

I have a feeling that the game's dev did not foresee all this meta and how people are playing the game. You have to keep in mind that the game devs are not necessarily the best at playing their own game. Many of the stuffs that's been going on (zDPS build and such) may not even be thinkable to them before it became all the rage and by the time they realized it, it was already too late, or no longer make any business sense to have a great overhaul to the game's nature. This is not a subscription based game after all.

Hell, I am pretty sure they did not even expect people to go so high in GR with certain builds. With large varieties of items and combi, they probably did not see a lot of things coming.

You can play whatever the fuck you want
Of course you can play however the fuck you want and that is exactly the point that I am trying to make. The dev simply couldn't have predicted how far we plan to take this and therefore it causes a lot of balancing issues.

If you find that not challenging enough, you can spend your gold on rare shield collection. I would say that Bastion's Keep has great vendors for this cause, but if you want to be mainstream, New Tristram is also ok.

posted a message on How do you not get bored of diablo

I am not trying to push for high GR and such (my best right now is to consistently beat GR70+ without dying once with a few minutes left) so having a fully optimized best-performing builds is not really my priority. I am simply trying all the possibilities that the game has to offer with all the items. Playing a game casually is somehow more fun for me :)

There are still many builds on all the classes that I have not tried yet, esp the LoN variants of things. I typically throw them together once I accidentally have more or less all the required gears, try them out a couple of times then shelf it. The fun comes from thinking up your own combinations too. If you just blindly follow all the top guides available online or get shoehorned into a cookie cutter build, then you already lost half the fun of the game.

There are too many loose ends still in the series so there will definitely be more expansions in the future. D4 perhaps. The original Starcraft and SCII were almost 20 years apart in release. I just hope it would not be like that for Diablo lmao, I would be too old to play so much then.

posted a message on Diablo 3: A few observations and what I think of them.

Very well written and summed up everything nicely. There have been so much complaining and flaming around lately that I am starting to dread reading up any thread these days.

I agree strongly with people being far too entitled these days. If they want continuous new contents then they should go play subscription based game, something I will never pay for. Then their complaints may be deemed more justified. Bliz has added far more content to D3 (without getting a single additional revenue out of it) than I expected them to and I am happy with that. This shows that they truly want to keep the franchise alive. The amount of fun I've had is well worth the money spent.

If you want free content then go play PoE. I tried and struggled to like it but failed. I'll just stick with D3 til they pull the plug.

posted a message on Menagerist Goblin? Where...It's a joke.

I have tried a number of run to farm for goblins and have decided to settle for running bounties instead. May be it's just my terrible luck but I have been finding menagerist gobs anywhere but the path people keep suggesting. It can spawn "anywhere".

So far I've run about 10 rounds of bounties (completing A1-A5 counts as 1 round) and got 5 menagerist. Not too bad I suppose and I get my materials too. A shame it cannot spawn from bandit shrine.

Back in season 5, I realized it's easier to get a new set where the dungeon is easy, than hard try the aerdrig set's for hours. Skip marauder or UE, go for natalya if you want to master a set dungeon. There's guide for the build you should use. I didn't followed it since the only thing you need is to keep vengeance uptime for 90 seconds.

For DH, the easiest set dungeon by far is natalya. I had no ancient at all, one weapon didn't have a gem in it, and I had too much DPS for the set dungeon (I failed one time because I killed all the mobs in under 90 seconds).

Now I feel like an idiot... why didn't I think of that?? haha thanks man!
I actually have a NS Natalya with pretty good gears and I can really envision a scenario where you killed enemies too damn fast. That's one hilarious reason to fail though. "Wait... did I just fail because...I'm too powerful???"

If this thread had not been started by Drahque... If Drahque had used better wordings to not come across as immature and jealous... looking at the core of the topic at hands, he does have some valid points as pointed out by many before me. What dfan is doing is giving Quinn's publicity.

The main issue here, in my opinion, is not the topic, but the way by which he did it. Drahque somehow managed to portrayed himself in a very bad light.

Your right, my wordings is terrible, and a lot of people tend go miss-understand it or get it wrong. It's always been one of my hardest things in life, I do have a SOCIAL HANDICAP, Aspergers Syndrome, and has been something I've tried to improve my whole life. I know it's not my strong side, but I feel however I can still fight for what I believe is best for the community and I can still help the community, even though I have a handicap. I am one of the few, who actually jumps out in it and there is only one way to get better at something your not good at it, and that's jumping out in it, getting experiences, and apply it during time. I might have to hear things many times, but I do always read it, reflect upon it and take it to me as long as it's constructive feedback and not just some troll saying: "FU, I hate u", but rather people who is like: "I dislike this ... because of this... and I think you should do this ...". I really like this kind of people, who actually explains not just what's wrong, but more importantly WHAT can be done INSTEAD. I am one of the guys who doesn't get mad when people correct me, but rather appreciate it and thanks for it. I hope that gives a little bit of insight, and I'm always open for help, just like IRL I'm getting a ton of help. :)

Hang in there dude. Your contribution is obvious to those in the community and much appreciated by many I am certain. Keep up with that positive attitude and don't be too harsh on yourself. Next time before you hit 'Post' you might wanna read through the entire thing again and put yourself in the readers' shoes. Not everyone will bother to think through your points if you already make them judge you in bad light right off the bat.
Though you guides are not my favourite, I appreciate the effort and many others surely do as well given the amount of upvotes and positive comments you get so keep up the good work!

His contribution and guides to the community is substantial, regardless of whether you like it or not. I personally do not like any of his post because it feels hollow and the formatting hurts my brain, but seeing the amount of upvotes, it is undeniable that there are many people out there who find his guides useful.

But all that is now nil and gone when he did what he did here. He has only himself to blame for his behaviour.

And frankly I do not care whose name is posted on the tab. Even as a casual player I know which poster to go for when looking up certain class (Monk: Quin, DH: Phil, Barb: Chainer etc...) They are all great and any publicity they can get is well deserving in my eyes.
