posted a message on 1 Free guest pass give away
Well check this site or my recent posts; I have given tonnes of GP's away and trying to help the community. A friend of mine suddenly changed her mind (bloody women)!

So if you have a spare I'd love one to give back. Again check my profile and you will see I have given away 10-15 of them (thanks to other people!) including the ones I got with the game.

    Bloody woman... lol :)

Not impressed but kool I guess.

    I just don't get why...

4 years knowing, 10 years total waiting. Why rush it? I am at 16 hours; level 20 on two chars and both in the middle of Act 2.(Once solo and once with a mate). Just relaxing; exploring the map and having fun.

Seriously gratz to the dude but I don't get why people do this? I must be missing something I am sure.

I just received my CE. However I only got 2 guest passes for WoW....

    Am I missing something?

No, I said in the title. It's random - I got 2 D3 ones in one and 2 WoW ones in the other. So it seems to be inconsistent.

All keys sent out now. Enjoy those that got one and please thank the few people that contributed. It wasn't just me remember!

After seeing this topic i decided to read more about GP's and this came up:
    http://us.battle.net...tion-guest-pass
So basically everyone buying D3 (normal and CE) will get GP's and can invite ppl to play the game since lauch (beta content)
    and after reading this:
Note: The Diablo III Starter Edition will not be available without a Guest Pass until 30 days after the game launches.
i come to the conclusion that GP's will be obsolete after the 30days have passed, any thoughts?

That seems quite correct; But it still means people can get a bit of a head start. So I will continue to host this. Even if they can only play the first 2 hours of the game. They can still work on their artisans / actually mess about and if my game was delayed I would be thankful for a guest pass personally :).

I will however, add that info to the OP thanks :).

EDIT 3: This makes it all the more necessary to try to be organised and get the passes out to people who need them. Tomorrow afternoon I will randomly give out the passes I have access to and continue asking in this thread as other people will get some with there's.

There we are: Sorry its fuzzy - but it gives an idea. Almost as tall as a 2L Pepsi bottle and of course much bigger than a regular game box

Now doing one of the side; but it's close to the length of a 360 gamepad.

Yeah that's the excitement thing. I wasn't expecting it today at all. That is why I think it took me by such surprise. I have been feeling quite ill all morning; so it has lifted my spirits.

Haha... I haven't really got the tools to do a blog post of unboxing. No webcam etc; only a crappy camera phone. I can add pictures here if you really want but they won't be good lol xD

    Dear Lee,

They meant a dvdrip and torrent.

Not saying you should succumb to said desires - just clarifying for you.

haha... and taint my joy with other men's eyes and fingers?

Nah; I won't be uploading anything sorry guys. Everyone else's will come either today or monday and someone will upload it today i reckon anyway. They are obviously being shipped out at the moment.

posted a message on Is there a most skill based class?
*hard* is a personal term people try to use to objectify something specific. Skill is equally a manipulation of terms to not actually mean anything without a basis.

Because of the individual nature of humanity we all find different feats of *skill* to be impressive or easy. Looking at WoW, I could never play a warlock. I always found them hard and was impressed by those that could play them well. Yet I struggled to understand how so many Tanks couldn't hold aggro; because I seldom had an issue with it; even in PUGS with people ninja pulling I was able to maintain control.

I realise this is D3; but all I am saying is; what one person considers to be skillful may actually be easy or dull for the person actually doing it. We will all be *skilled* at our own class and be impressed by other people whom are able to play their class more efficiently than we could. I think labelling things as *less skilled* are just meaningless nonsense words as skill is very subjective (or what we consider Skillful).

If you have no interest in swimming for example; then you might not consider a good swimmer to be skilled; because you have no interest in the talent they are presenting. It doesn't matter if they are the champion of the world; that means nothing to someone that has no appreciation for the art of swimming.

posted a message on Moving character with keyboard (WASD or Arrow Keys)
I read the first page and cringed at the responses, I feel sorry OP; you actually asked the question very elegantly and just got the usual hissy-fit responses (from both sides).

I think the problem is the same as ever, people don't like change. It's that simple to be honest. If something isn't broke, don't fix it etc. It's that logic that carries over.

With the examples given on the front page (such as slavery) there was clearly something broken about the method, that's why changes were needed to be made; but people feel (rightly or wrongly) that Diablo controls a certain way and should remain as such.

The other thing is that no matter how hard you try, one method will always offer an advantage over the other, an example being look at WoW. The best players used hotkeys and clicked skills at the same time. Those that only did one or the other were generally a bit behind those that did both (be it a couple of 100 or a couple of 1000); so I think people wouldn't like to feel like they are worse off because they are stuck in a traditional control mindset.

Where as a newer player is able to utilize the new method and be more effective for it (such as aiming and moving as you stated). Again, I am not saying this is a good reason, but it is probably one of the main reasons why people react so badly toward the suggestion.
