Actually there might be ways to make your summons a bit more controllable. Perhaps through casting a certain skill on a target(s) that will cause your zombie dogs to enrage and attack that target.
I was thinking the same thing, perhaps the haunt/locust plague spell would have synergy with your summons there by your mongrels helping kill the enemy and possibly allowing it to trigger more (pass on to other enemies) as a bi-product.

Is there any news as to the ability or lack there of to control pets you've summoned. I think if you summoned a zombie dog you should be able to tell it where to go, sit, roll over and play explode.
Something simple like hold alt and click will select all pets to focus on a target.

Well imo it would just be annoying to hear them going off constantly. Considering how fast the DH fires it would just be way to many gunshots. And even though it might go along with grenades, thats really the only gadget the DH uses thats at all connected to guns. Most of her skills wouldn't really make sense with a gun (ie Bola Shot, Molten Arrow). Also, the oldest dated gun is from somewhere around 1250, while grenades date back all the way to the 700s. So they're not really as connected as you might think. Its considerably harder to design a firearm that doesn't blow up in your face than it is to fill a ball with explosives.

Damn you sir and your reasonable logic, you have convinced me.

But aside from that, if it feels like a gun, plays like a gun, shoots like a gun... why don't we just call it a gun and make it look like one?

The Diablo team is very attuned to the theme they want the game to fall under. They spend literally hundreds of hours, and dozens or fully realized concepts just to finalize how a character looks. Every little spike, and curve on every item and graphic is thought out to suit the theme. Gun just don't fit it.

I agree it would look cool, and I wouldn't mind if the DH wiped out duel pistols. Thing is all an all it fits nowhere in the lore, nor theme of Diablo as a franchise.

How can it not fit into the theme, when u have assassins and demon hunters who use technology combined with magic, you already have as i mentioned before grenades. When u think guns, don't think modern ware fare, consider style and designs of early emerging projectile weapons, I could easily see them fitting into the diablo world, when stylized accordingly.

I think it would be much cooler if she used snipers and lazer guns pew pew.

    OH wait the wizard already...

    HAHAHHA yes...

In D2 I do not recall the characters actually drawing bows or reloading crossbows... I mean real crossbows are just not viable... I'm sure there's an element of magic reloading the crossbows for you. I mean come on wall of zombies man...wall of zombies...

But aside from that, if it feels like a gun, plays like a gun, shoots like a gun... why don't we just call it a gun and make it look like one?

posted a message on Will D3 ever have guns?
I would love nothing more than to wield a rifle, gun powder exists, all u need is an enchanted ball to utilize it, forcing it through a chamber. Considering the Demon Hunters gadgetry why doesn't she use it? I mean exactly how does she reload those dual wielded crossbows.
It's more of a look and a feel rather than balancing issues, early guns had the same properties as powerful crossbows. I just want to be this badass that uses the cutting edge in technology combined with magic to let me slay demons, and crossbows just feels to old...

10% chance per spell or 10% per target hit in specific spells?
It doesn't say, just says "A chance that Zombie Dogs will automatically resurrect upon death" - And sacrificing does technically count as death.

Well if it makes it so the Zombie Dog spawns back at the WD and has to run back to its target, it wouldn't be that bad. It would pretty much just save you mana/time casting instead of allowing you to do a double Sacrifice right next to someone.

Yea a double sacrifice would definitely be OP

I'm just curious if anyone knows if Unrelenting Assault (A chance that Zombie Dogs will automatically resurrect upon death (10% at first level)) will function if the dog is sacrificed (Causes a Zombie Dog to explode, dealing damage to all nearby enemies).

But it's probably to unbalanced to hope that when u explode a zombie dog that it would have a 30% chance of coming back to life.

posted a message on Server selections?
Is their any word as to how the server selection will function? Will it be like SC2 where I must purchase an individual game for a different server? Will I be like in D2 able to pick my server or will I have to somehow (and will I be able to) buy a key corresponding to the X server. Recently SC2 gave free access to all Australians/New Zealander's (I think) to the American servers (Which have more up to date custom games and more English speaking players)

    Quote from Ophion

They have mentioned that they want a system that functions similarly to an Auction House that allows you keep fighting while you trade, and the possibility to do so both in a game and while in the battle.net lobby. No specifics are revealed though.

    Yea that would be ideal.

    Quote from Jackzor

I'm sure the WD will have some kind of high level summon that we just haven't seen yet. And many skills could possibly be changed to pets (ie Plague of Toads), so part of being a summoner WD would just be having certain runes.

I really like that idea, you can go down the path of a raw summoner dependent upon the runes which you have.

posted a message on Diablo 3 Player Traiding System?
Hi I'm wondering if there has been any mention of a trading system. For all those rare items (however useless to you) you find on your ladder account. Will there be some sort of auction house or trading center, somewhere to auction for gold or say have X desire Y or Z? Or will third party forums just have to form.
