The real thing they are trying to accomplish here is to give a disincentive to skill swapping. It's not to make it so that you don't have to have the MF stat on your gear.

They're totally trying to disincentivize skill swapping, true, but that's not the only thing. Motivating people to sweep through the game and kill champions/bosses alike is huge. It completely changes the endgame.

I like the idea of the valor buff stacking with infinite duration, but the problems are pretty easy to see. Resetting the buff at the start of each new act seems like a cool solution, you would pick which act to run partially based on length, and try to make it through the whole thing in a sitting. It's fine if you don't, but if you do you get better drops/makes the end boss of the act that much more epic (because you'll have high valor stacks).

It also makes runs a 2 - 3 hour endeavor if you want to go through the whole act, which fits pretty well with your typical Diablo player's play session I think. For those who would play longer there's a nice breakpoint for devouring food, and if you play in hour chunks you could still farm pretty effectively (though unfortunately not quite as well).

    Supa exicted!

I found toads to be pretty annoying, if firebats have been bumped up and toads pushed back I'm totally fine with that. I hated his old early game.

oh yeah, League of Legends is quite popular, its very fun and free! :)

bet many here on dfans play it

Yeah, started playing that a year ago... I kinda burned myself out on it. I'll play a game, then i'm done.

That's why you hunt down and kill someone with a Dota 2 beta key. It's like the number one headband in Afro Samurai: you kill 'em, you get their key.

Dota 2 = League, but with 50% more handsome.

Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and The Wire belong on that list of shows. Time consuming and awesome.

Also, Dota 2, my current passtime :D

It shoots bolts in every direction very quickly. Would you prefer the term "multi-target?" it amounts to the same thing. It has an Effect (E) an Area(A) and murders everyone in it. Bolts shoot in random directions because it shoots like 6 per second. It's meant for crowd damage.

Complaining about it not being able to kill single targets quickly is ridiculous. That's not what it's FOR. It's like complaining about Ancient Spear not knocking targets back. You're doing it wrong.

So I cracked open a fresh case of HC Wizard for some fun times just now, but when I reached the Cathedral for the first time I noticed something weird. If you stand near the door, against the top wall and to the right a bit, the screen gets tinted reddish and you can hear really deep creaking and groaning sounds, like bending wood. It's pretty loud and very creepy.

Was this there before? I would think I would have noticed it before now, but this is the first I've heard it.

These forums are better than the Blizzard forums because constructive people EXIST here, so no matter how many smacktards/trolls/people who think they are number wizards spam the forums with useless crap, the ratio of good/bad is not zero here. threads with merit actually appear occasionally.

    Quote from Antirepublican

And this is why people get unfairly banned. Arbitrary rules like these that don't make sense. Its only a game based solely on math, dang, if only we could use this mystical math force to figure things out...

    No Jokes
    No Theorycrafting

What a boring forum that would make.

I have no problem with theorycrafting or jokes. But trying and failing to do math, then posting a whiney thread about how something is SO IMBALANCED OMG with nothing but your failed theorycrafting to back it up is worse than useless. It is actively detrimental to the community.

I have theorycrafted my ass off, I have made dozens of builds for each class on the skill calculator, I have obsessed over any stats I can find about the mechanics/skills/etc. But I have never called anything imbalanced based on that, because I know that my number crunching doesn't amount to dick when it meets the game.

1.) Calling something imbalanced/broken when you haven't played the game.

Etc, etc. Pretty obvious when you see it.
#1 doesn't belong on the list.

People can easily make those determinations with theorycrafting. Sometimes they are wrong, but more often than not they aren't.

Oh it absolutely does. Nothing predicted to be imbalanced by theorycrafting has been vindicated by beta gameplay. There's just too much beyond the numbers to accurately model it. Theorycrafting is virtually mental masturbation until you actually have some gameplay experience behind it.

Well, before we bash the blizz forums too much let's remember how many trolls and idiots are here, too. Honestly, especially after the beta key rush from a few weeks ago, they are virtually indistinguishable. Hopefully it doesn't stay that way :\

so , how do u decide who's points are valid or not?

Same way I decide on the Blizzard forums: whether or not the post is stupid. Examples of stupidity include:

1.) Calling something imbalanced/broken when you haven't played the game.
2.) Claiming the game is already boxed and available from mass retail.
3.) Repeating "Just release it already!" Over and over.
4.) Claiming the game is too easy (especially on Inferno) when you haven't played it.
5.) Calling the item affixes boring when they stated very clearly that they were placeholder stats (this one got the stats taken down entirely, due to sheer mass illiteracy)

Etc, etc. Pretty obvious when you see it.
