Dunno. My wife is simply ideal. Known her since I was 8 (she was 7). Enough said, I suppose.

It's certainly an extremely precarious situation. They're currently trying to restore power to the plants in order to reactivate the cooling systems before a total meltdown occurs. Surely with so many experts from around the world working on it and with so many resources at their disposal they can stop this before it becomes catastrophic, right? Time will tell, I guess.

I have been excited for DIII for the past couple of years but it is not always on my mind or anything. I check dfans.com about 3 or 4 times per week for any major updates and I skim through the latest forum posts if they pique my interest. I have my real life to keep my mind off of the wait. When the release date is announced, I will be way more excited. And when a copy is finally in my hands, I will have an orgasm.

I'll still play as a goalie on NHL09 and eventually NHL12 when it comes out. Too addicted. But my time in the weightroom trumps games so it will severely limit how much hockey I play since my order is: family, lifting, d3, NHL09, and anything else (the rest of RL) falls in behind that.

posted a message on The Gamer Conspiracy!!!
I play as a goaltender on NhL 09's Be A Pro mode (my h key is broken so I paste a lower case h using ctrl-v). The AI is so mindbogglingly retarded sometimes. For example: faceoff in my zone. We win the face off, so I relax in net a little bit expecting my defenseman to pass it out to the winger and take it into the neutral zone. BUT, just as I relax, my defenseman very quickly spins around to take the puck behind the net and accidentally slams the puck into the net before I can react. That goal ended up being the deciding goal; I lost 1-0.

Another problem that gets me is when ThEIR goalie can stop every single shot all game even if it's point blank or a perfect 1-timer yet, even when I'm square to the shooter down in the butterfly, it still trickles into the net between my pads or they blast it perfectly accurate high blocker side off the post and in. One last complaint is how AI incompetency gives my team a sub-par offense: far too often my team shoots and misses the net by 3-6 feet or shoots the puck at the speed of molasses. We almost always dominate time of possession in the offensive zone and dominate in shots on goal yet we only average 2.3 goals a game after 78 games played so far this season. So tomorrow I have to win 3 out of these final 4 games to squeak into the playoffs. Feels bad man.

    Felt good to vent.

For the specificity of your predictions however, you get a +1 from me.
We'll know real soon how true they are. :olddiablo:

That is an appropriate quote considering we have all been hoping for D3's release for eons and our hope has never waned. Thanks for the +1, btw.

I don't think it's a coincidence that the number of blue posts have declined significantly as of late. Blizzard is going to announce beta during their conference on the 9th. The beta will begin by the end of this month. Yes, I am that much of an optimist. ALSO, the release date will be at the end of June because:
    - 95% of all game content/items/monsters/etc are actually complete and they are just keeping quiet about it
    - they have already been playing through the entire game, working out a lot of major bugs and are within a couple of months of producing a polished ready-to-ship version of D3
    - the beta will go so smoothly, fixing the remaining smaller bugs, a major glitch here and there, and correcting balance issues without any major setbacks

Too optimistic for most but I'm absolutely confident!

*disclaimer: this entire post is absolutely pure speculation on my part*

posted a message on Rune Effects - Molten Arrow
    Demon Hunter's Molten Arrow:

Shoots a piercing arrow that causes minimal fire damage. Upon initial impact with an enemy, Dog the Bounty Hunter is summoned as a pet for 30 seconds. Upon being summoned, he walks up to and binds individual enemies -- rendering them motionless for 6-10 seconds. The theme song to his show plays quietly in the background while he is summoned. Cool down between summons: 2 minutes.

    Monk's Seven-Sided Strike:

Unleashes 7 furries that attack from all sides, causing nearby enemies to stop attacking in order to laugh at them -- essentially a 3-5 second stun.

Disclaimer: the author realizes that some/all of the skills he developed are really lame/cheesy.

    Witch Doctor's Sacrifice:

Causes a Zombie Kanye West to appear, interrupting both melee and ranged damage from enemies and friends alike for 10 seconds before letting combat finish by exploding, dealing damage to all nearby enemies.

posted a message on Rune Effects - Meteor
Meteor: Summons a massive meteor from the sky that explodes upon impact, doing damage with a shockwave and a wave of flames. Causes knockback and stun. Aliens crawl out of the impact crater and shoot the remaining enemies with laser beams causing 3-9001 damage before turning into ash because, while their bodies can somehow survive the hellacious impact, our atmosphere causes them to disintegrate.

    Quote from ScyberDragon

No, I didn't mean to question you or anything, I was just pointing out that we will hopefully get more/better information from this conference than the male DH.

Yeah, I'd rage if that's all they announce. I'm optimistic that they'll announce beta at the conference.

posted a message on Beta Coming Sooner Than Expected?
Since we now know Blizzard is quite far along in development, I thought we'd ponder when the beta will begin. I don't think it will take much longer to flesh out items, finalize balancing, and finish touching up various things here and there. I predict they will be able to finish b.net development within the next 30-45 days. So, I'm guessing the beta will begin by the end of March.

What do you guys think? Do you think they are finally on the verge of putting on the finishing touches and announcing beta? What do you think they have left before they feel ready to go beta (aside from male DH and b.net)?

I wish Notch would allow us to somehow make engines and wheels so we could make little cars and motorcycles for really fast travel. Coal would be the fuel.
Do you mean like powered minecarts? Because we have powered minecarts if you would like them.

No, I meant like modern cars. But very obviously that wouldn't fit into the theme of Minecraft. I would like to see a modern, urban version of the game created at some point. Then people could create subway systems, cars, factories, aircraft, guns, et cetera. People could have little modern battles amongst neighboring towns. All in the same 'newretro' block style.
