Oh I am indeed aghast with profound abhorrence at such callous personal disregard for meaningful conveyance! Alas, had my senses gone so awry?! With haste, I shall remedy this most blighting of oversights! Thank thee!

Rofl brilliant. Thank you very much for the wallpaper too, it's exactly what I had been looking for!

    Hello everyone,

I have been trying to find a widescreen (1680x1050) version of the teaser Diablo 3 logo that was on the website. I am mad that blizzard released a wallpaper with just the diablo 3 symbol, but they took out the awesome diablo head under the logo. So does anyone know where I could find a 1680x1050 wallpaper of the original teaser logo that includes diablos head under the logo?

Well I don't know if anyone noticed but I was just looking through the concept art on the Diablo 3 website and noticed if you view the top right image on the second page there is a sequence of concepts for a possible animation. What is interesting though is at the top left of that image it says hydra. So we can now say officially that the hydra rumor was true and Diablo 3 is indeed codenamed project hydra.

Alright now we have some credible sources for that information so at this point it could now be considered as a viable possibility.

That should be treated as rumor until someone can prove it. Basically they have said well a guy who knows a guy who has an uncle that works for Blizzard told us about the game. There is no proof behind what that site claims and also they seem less than reliable because they have inaccurate information. They say WoW has topped 6 million when more accurately they should say topped 8 million.

muttonchops and all of you will apologize for your fucking idiocy in time.

Agreeing with him and backing him up because he is protecting your hopes, it IS another WoW expansion and a port and there's no way around it.

Nothing can be "too soon" Blizzard could announce WoW 2 on the 19th and have it released 2011.

Announcement doesn't = such and such game releases next week, especially in the gaming industry, it simply means it's a project they intend to finalize and release and let the public know about it and fester.

Muttonchops, you should never say something on a forum that you wouldn't be willing to say to their face, there are people out there that will find you and hurt you. Just a suggestion before you start trying to offend people and act high and mighty again. Coward
Ok you are one of the most unintelligent people I have ever seen on a forum because you make claims that have no proof or even hints that it might be a WoW product. I would go as far as saying I bet every life on this planet goes to hell if its a WoW related announcment. the odds of a WoW related prduct are slim to none. Blizzard has been constantly saying they have plans to return to the Diablo and Starcraft series. While blizz has said they want to release a WoW expansion every year they are very unlikely to announce it on the 19th. Your best bet of a WoW announcment is if it is announced along side a Diablo or Starcraft announcement. And even that is not likely because then the two announcements would compete with each other, and comon business ethics tells you not to compete within your own company. You make a lot of big claims and have nothing to show for anything so until you can make a statement that has some viable information then your posts here are useless and should be ignored and they are a waste of time for all the people reading this thread.

This is a link to the Korea site:
    http://www.blizzard.co.kr/
As you can see it uses blizzards layout which only they are aloud to use because of copyrights. Also note the links to jobs postings. There is no questioning this is definitly an official blizzard site. O yea and the copyright at the bottom of the page gives all rights to Blizzard Entertainment. Also note that blizzard has made many sites (mostly for WoW) that have flash intros. Have a look around the WoW website and you will find quite a few.

But you fail to realise how a company works.

First, they have to analyze what market their games are turned towards. In Korea, where the event is held, Starcraft is their most successful game, with Diablo having much less of a following there compared to in the U.S

Second is publicity. When they throw an event, it needs to present something worthwhile and have everyone on edge. Everything that goes on there will be relayed to all fan-sites and magazines in the world. Announcing Diablo 3 will cause only mild interest from most people, while announcing Starcraft 2 will create an uproar of enthusiasm and interest.

Third is the intelligence of a company. Blizzard didn't just yesterday figure out that they wanted to go to Korea. They also did not just realise yesterday that "Hey, our game is done. When can we announce it?" Announcements like these are planned way ahead of time, they know when and where everything is going to happen. If D3 was the next product to be done, they wouldn't have headed to Korea.

Fourth, regarding the trademark activity in Diablo. The only thing that suggests is that D3 (or anything related to Diablo) is close to being unvelied, however that does not in any way prevent SC2 from also being announced, and neither does it mean that D3 has to be announced at first opportunity.
If you take a look at my previous post I think you will see that it does mean they need to announce it soon. While it makes sense to announce Starcraft 2 in Korea (and i would like to see that as much as Diablo 3), there is much, much more evidence pointing to a release of Diablo 3 first.

Alright let me spell out everything going on here and hopefully end the SC vs. D3 bash and start the debate on which is more likely to release first again. First of all comparing the 2 games is almost pointless as they arn't even from the same genre of games. Both are aclaimed (as all blizz games are) and both have drawn crouds of millions. Both have been very popular online. While inevitably everyone is going to have their opinion on which one is better you can't really say which is better by fact or which is harder by fact. Some people think RTS games are very difficult while and overhead RPG might be easy for them and vice versa. Bashing each other about which is better or harder is a waste of time and energy because the fact is both sides are wrong.

Now on to the debate of which is more likely to release first.

    Diablo 3 Facts:
    1. It is known that Blizz North was working on a new diablo game. Blizz North was shut down and all employees relocated to blizz HQ because of the lack of meeting Blizzards high quiality standards as a means of keeping better eye on the project. The project was scrapped and reworked. All this information is factual from a Blizz North employee (do some research and you can find it)
    2. Blizz took out several trademarks in the Diablo name meaning they are doing something with it SOON. the reason it has to be soon as I said is because trademarks expire therefore you don't get one until you are ready to announce the project
    3. A whole score of people were hired "to work with the team that developed Diablo 1 and 2 on an unannounced PC project"
    4. An email from the man who composed the music for Diablo 1 and 2 leaked saying that he was getting ready to go record music for Diablo 3

    Starcraft 2 Facts:
    1. Domain was bought for the site, but this isn't anything big nescisarily. This means that they intent to return to the game at some time. Now that
they own the domain they can just let it sit there until they feel like using it. Just because they have it doesn't mean they must use it immediatly and since they own it, it won't expire therefore it causes no pressure on Blizzard to release a game.
    2. The announcement is being made in Korea which is the capital of everything Starcraft therefore logically Blizz would announce a starcraft title to get the most excitment for their new product.
    3. Stacraft Ghost is on Indefinite Hold so making a Starcraft 2 would be a nice way to make up for this never ending delay.

So as you can see its fairly even and could definitly go either way. Personally I think that it will be a Diablo game because there is a lot of solid evidence where Starcraft only has things that seem more like distractions to make people second guess themselves.

Sounds interesting, any links i could read up on it?
    Good post.

Alright well first my opinion of the 3 announcments for this yea are as follows:

    1: Diablo 3
    2: Starcraft 2
3: I know you hate to think it but Blizz intends to release one expansion per year for WoW now so, I am gonna have to say they will announce the next expansion.

Now to the quote. As a matter of fact I do have links to back this stuff up. Unfortunately all the posts for jobs for the Diablo Team were filled and taken from the site so i can't link them but you can look at old news archives on this site and find posts about them. As for trademarks however this was the most recent trademark in the diablo name which if you look at the Date of Status was very recently.
    http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=78770575
Now why would blizzard take out a new trademark in the Diablo name if they wern't working on something? The starcraft domain can wait they own it now so its theirs until they want to use it, which would make a nice cover up or distraction from the diablo trademark activity to make people second guess themselves. A trademark however expires so you don't get one until you are about ready for it. Thus I believe that Diablo 3 will come before Starcraft 2.

Ok well I personally think it will be Diablo 3 because of all the staff that has been hired to work on it and because there has been much tradmark activity in the diablo name over the last couple months.

It is noteable however that the starcraft 2 domain was bought by Blizzard and there has been no knowledge of anything of the sort for a Diablo 3.

Basically it could go either way.

However since many people here have been mentioning that there might be some announcment of another new game at E3 this is impossible. If you go to the E3 site (http://www.e3expo.com/login/login.aspx?redirect=%2fIndex.aspx) then you will notice that it is now called E3 Media and Business summit. Basically E3 is now a private meeting of developers held in private hotel rooms to discuss business tactics. A few "featured games" will be chown but that is it. E3 is no longer the big game show it was before! (which sucks by the way)

Also note that all companies that would normally go to E3 have been invited to participate in the Tokyo Game Show instead (which isn't as good as E3 was but o well).

Just thought you should all know that.
