posted a message on Call of Duty: Black Ops
My copy is already in the mail, love the call of duty games, loved mw2 but couldn't play it due to he lack of dedicated server support making it impossible to play competatively, hopefully with the return of dedicated servers in black ops it will be what MW2 should of been.

posted a message on What is the dev team thinking!?!?
I agree with you to a degree ansl, I posted a post along similar lines about barb's now being able to summon the ancients to assist... Nevermind throwing corpses or giant frogs, I hadn't heard about this stuff.

My thread was under the Diablo III area titled Diablo III... Heroes or Super Heroes and although a little more constructive than this thread is did have a similar concern in it.

I just hope that the GIANT FROG looks mean and not like a dodgey kermit, and as for throwing corpses well I would say as long as a corpse is there fair enough but if not it shouldn't happen... And the damage would have to be disease/poison for it at all to be valid in my opinion... If throwing a corpse does massive magical or physical damage it would spoil it a little for me.

However a rotting corpse infected with disease and poison would be passable in my opinion.

It would be cool if they introduced a seperate ladder for low level dueling, i.e level 9's only and just make sure you don't gain exp from PVP games. I think this way you would have alot more people participating in the HC PVP, I know I would for one, less time spent making a character and it would still have the element of once your dead... your dead.

Obviously this would be in addition to the seperate ranking system which would be based of a scoring system and available for any level to battle it out in.

I love the idea! The top on the list of the hardcore pvp ranking will truly be gods among men :D

I was undecided when I read the news and thought 80/20 that they had made the right choice but was still unconvinced until I read your comment Puttah :)

Will be interesting to see if they have a PVP ranking table for hardcore and how it works, i.e by amount of kills/victories etc... Its hard to tell how they would make that work well... Even more excited now :D

I can't stand the fact that all attacks are now active based.....

What do you mean? Barbarian has stayed pretty classic (the only major addition seems to be Ancient Spear).

I too am confused. Last I checked on the barb from d2 you were either a frenzy barb(active), ww barb(active), double throw barb(active), or singer barb(*GASP* active). What do you mean by more active?

once you are twinked out yeah.... without the mana/ mana leech to skill spam melee actually gets used.

Hopefully the fury system will allow barbs to melee mostly and blast skills every few seconds...

all i'm saying is that i want regular melee attacks to be viable.

I agree with you on this, I think normal attack on most characters should still play a considerably large part in the game, especially in the beginning...

If Diablo was in my front room I would snap my head off and throw it at him and be like NOM NOM NOM...

On a serious note I think alot of what is now in Diablo is due to engine restrictions but I just can't see how far it will go before it gets demi god...

On a side note I don't think 3D games are that impressive, my uncle spent a good amount investing in 3D on his computer and after 10-15 mins of playing 3D you don't really notice it, also played for an hour or so on 3D FPS and as a skilled FPS gamer I found the 3D very difficult to judge distances etc... movies however, you are paying attention to both the film and the 3D so thats a slightly different story but even that looses its appeal for me after the first hour.

So you're searching for a lore reason behind the heroes becoming more awesome?

    Edit:
    Oh wait, explanations aside.

Well, the heroes are becoming more awesome. It probably has more to do with engine limitations than anything else. However, I don't think they're really going super-hero. They're more flashy, yes, but I don't think that they'll become demi-gods or something like that.

Thats the kind of response I was looking for, yes lore and story line aside I think I probably agree with you on all those points Shatterer...

posted a message on What is your MF method?
    Ok so I have rebuilt my sorc as a metorb with around 750 MF... I do the following in a run;

    1. Pits
    2. Countess
    3. Andy
    4. Summoner (when I can be bothered finding the right path)
    5. Meph
    6. Pindle
    7. Shenk and the other one nearest WP at top of stairs
    8. New game

So far so good, any input or pointers welcome... I think my next char is either going to be a smiter as I don't really enjoy the hdin build or go with something a little different and do a barb polearm WW build with as much cast on strike as I can find... What you think guys?

In a world of demons and angels, a splitting magical arrow is not really a big deal.

And here ladies and gents is the commented I expected to hear... it was only a matter of time, its not a big deal at all though as rightly pointed out don, thats not what I am getting at, my question was purely to see if people think its going super hero rather than hero and at what point it has to stop... I have no issues with the games direction, infact as stated in my OP I am really looking forward to Diablo III, please re-read what I have wrote in my OP and understand I am not trolling the game.

Now back on topic... Do you guys feel that (judging by what we have seen thus far) Diablo III is transitioning from the hero to some sort of super hero era? (Explanations as to why this is so aside...) :)

Thats true enough Scyber but the worldstone wasn't destroyed until the end of Diablo II so how do you explain the heat seeking arrows and ability to split 1 arrow in to 30 throughout Diablo II?

Some individuals had powers without really understanding it, for example Achillios's extremely sharp hunter prowess.

That is how I think it can be best be explained :)

Daanland you never fail to accept things at face value! :)

Thats a quality response... Can you imagine the conversation between chars?

"Did you just see that? I shot my bow at that zombie but the arrow split in to 30 other perfectly crafted arrows?!" says the Amazon to the Paladin to which the Paladin replies "Dude, thats nothing... I can make spinning hammers fly out my face..." to which the Amazon replies "wierd I don't understand how we can do that!? Ah well back to the battle agaisnt evil!".

posted a message on Diablo III... Heroes or Super Heroes?
First of all, many of you whom have taken the time to converse with me will know I am really looking forward to Diablo III so this post isn't an attempt to sound like a troll so any comments to this degree will be disregarded.

This is mainly a question for those of you who have played Diablo from the off, i.e. Diablo I, Diablo II & LOD and now will be playing Diablo III... I read in another thread somewhere that the barbarian will be able to summon the ancients to assist him as what sounded like a minion... My question is; does anyone feel like the heroes from Diablo I are slowly becoming super heroes through the games?

Explained: In Diablo I you had 3 heroes, the warrior, the rouge and the sorcerer... I felt that each class was a skilled and either brave or stupid warrior from there order and slowly throughout the game rose to power through experience and the acquisition of magical items, i.e. the rouge never made arrows bend around corners or split in to 30 separate arrows, she was fast with a bow an shot it well so it did good damage and eventually she managed to learn herself some spells through hard work, experience and exposure to magic.

Diablo II was very similar, however we seen a slight increase in the overall power of the characters, i.e. the Amazon was able to summon a valkyrie and was able to make arrows magically follow an enemy until it found its target.

Now in Diablo III we expect to see a barbarian who is essentially a very skilled melee warrior and a bit of a brute use magic to summon the ancients... Will a character also be able to snap their own head off and throw it at the enemy which will then in turn nibble and slobber on all enemies within a 4 yard radius for 12 seconds before the head then dies and the 'hero' magically grows a replacement?!?

As I said this isn't an attempt to sound like a troll but rather raising a question that others may have pondered at some point or another?

posted a message on Wizard Looks Good in New Item Set
People mentioning colors are off on displayed pieces, remember that dye's have been mentioned... Best coloring system I seen was in the neverwinter nights toolset... I used to love designing items on that. RIP Dungeon Crawler...

As for this set im not a large fan of huge shoulder pieces so naturally it gets a thumbs down initially however its hard to imagine how this set will look in game, hopefully it will look normal and not like a theme park entertainer.

Probably my favoured of the sets displayed so far though! :)
