Bleu42 posted a message on Get rid of seasonsPosted in: Diablo III General Discussion
While I'm not about to throw out any numbers, I'm willing to bet a LARGE section of the player base would probably just not play if there aren't any seasons.Quote from taloncarry2»
when blizzard made a new game mode called seasons they thought they were doing something for us d3 player but really it all bullcrap. For people who play non seasons will understand we don't have much people for ns so we cant do much gr and bounties with good geared people because everyone is playing seasons. seasons is the same as non seasons with one little twist you got to from the beginning. I think it all kinda stupid really. so to really play this game you have play seasons even if you don't want to. If blizzard didn't make seasons and everyone was on the same playing field the game would be so much better and community would be much nicer.
Get rid of seasons it's a complete waste of time
ty.
There's some of us who find it extremely boring to have every class maxed out, and are only hoping for that upgrade with another +3 vit on it. Being able to start fresh every couple of months is a really rewarding feeling that I think Blizzard has done a great job at with seasons. -

Private_Smiley posted a message on RoRG, Normal vs. T2+, I don't think even Blizzard knows anymore...i took that last blue post to mean that yes, there is an increase chance for a leg to drop in a t2+ cache.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
that doesn't mean it specifically buffs the chance of RoRg, just that legs drop more in t2+ caches. -

Belloc posted a message on Variable Legendary Drop WeightsHere's one problem with your suggestion:Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Class set items recently had their drop weight increased so that they are relatively common. Set items, of course, are highly desirable. Let's say I want to get my 6-pc bonus and I want the items to actually be good. With your system in place, I'll get my first set shoulders, they'll be crap, and then I'll have to deal with other drops increasing in weight and being more common than my set shoulders (because, remember, many legendary drops share the same weight. If I get my set shoulders, the other common drops become more common than the set shoulders).
I certainly don't like the sound of that.
Rare items are supposed to be rare. That's the design that Blizzard has chosen. We don't need to further complicate the system by having variable drop rates. It's not a bad idea, but I don't think it's a good idea for Diablo 3.
edit: I know that a lot of my posts are me saying that I don't like the suggestions being offered. Honestly, I think a lot of the suggestions being made are by people who aren't really interested in making Diablo 3 a better game. This idea, for example, will get people their ultra-rare drops earlier than intended and then what happens? Well, you've got your BIS items now, so what point is there to continue playing?
Indeed, that's my problem with a lot of ideas for Diablo 3. Diablo 3 is supposed to be a game that you play and play and play and, well, never stop playing... but most of the ideas I see are people trying to reduce the time requirement -- to get them the items they want instead of the items they don't want. These ideas shorten the lifespan of the game and that's obviously detrimental to the game's survival.
I like ideas that make our characters more powerful, but I don't like it when those ideas are attached to gear acquisition. Yes, I think we should be more powerful. Hell, I'd be fine if they increased the difficulty ceiling by giving us a few more Torment levels in exchange for making us a bit more powerful by default... but making it easier to get the items that everyone wants? I don't think that's good for the game. -

shaggy posted a message on Are you tired of your build skill rune changes every patch, dead economy, monotonous characters, want something to trade and brag?"The economy" should never come into question when balancing and updating a game.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Ever.
The moment it does is when you very expressedly tell people that unless they're trading they're losing out. It was one of the biggest flaws of D3V: they wouldn't make changes because it would upset people who "invested" real/fake money in items. That mentality shows the players that if you're not trading (or, in the case of D3V, using the AH) that you're "doing it wrong." And we all know how that turned out with D3V.
They should be building a game that's compelling to play. If that creates a "good economy" then so be it. But their primary goal shouldn't be to create a game that has a "good economy" because that dwarfs what should be the primary goal: making an awesome game. -

Herecius posted a message on Interesting Loot HypothesisAnything backed by anecdotal evidence is about as useful as a conspiracy theory.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Yesterday, I got nothing but a single crappy Sledge of Ashkabibble, and a low level Tormentor staff. Today, playing half the time I did yesterday, I got 2 (TWO) Masks of Jerem, A Grin Reaper, 3 weapons (none of which were good), a Cindercoat (!), and 2 (TWO!) Magefists. So I mean, I've single-handedly broken the supposed hypothesis (pretty sure), and... RNG continues to be RNG. :/ Tomorrow, I'm sure I'll be lucky to see another Crudest Boots.
Reading this guy's post just makes my head hurt. It's the same thing I keep reading in other, similar 'legendary drop rate' posts, and it makes me groan. Claiming stuff like killing monsters has its own individual drop timer, that chests and objects are on a different timer and that's why it 'seems' like chests are so much more lucrative, when it's all just luck. Pure luck, luck luck luck luck. You could get a legendary from 5 elite packs in a row, or go 50 packs without getting a single one, all in the same period of time. You could open a dozen respendent chests and not get a thing, or open one, and get two from the same chest.
For the past weeks, my friends and I have this ongoing joke (a joke that was almost taken as 'fact') that it's impossible to receive any legendaries while under the effects of a Conduit Pylon, because... you know, we've never really seen one drop ever, during the effects of a Conduit, across however dozens upon dozens of Conduits we've hit and killed shit with. I mean, surely, across the 4-5 other people I play with on a very regular basis, at least one of us would see a legendary during Conduit, right!? Surely! But... it's just luck. It's all luck. None of us would make a thread on any of the forums about how Conduits make you unable to receive legendaries, because we all know that that would be dumb. -

Bagstone posted a message on Doesn't it bother you that there will be no OP legendaries? To answer your question in the game: No, it doesn't bother me, quite the contrary.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I have owned or currently own several overpowered items myself (Wand of Woh on level 60, Moonlight Ward and Mirrorball right now). The day they nerf my Mirrorball I will celebrate. Why? Because it frees up the shackles of having to use a certain overpowered item. I am bound to use Magic Missiles in my build - or just accept the fact that I basically cut my eDPS in half. I am bound to use an arcane spell and play melee, or I give up on a large chunk of eDPS thanks to my Moonlight Ward. Basically, I'm a Charged Blast melee wizard and everything else I ever do decreases my DPS. I am bound to use my Thunderfury because even the perfect weapon for my arcane build (Gesture of Orpheus, with good rolls) cannot outweigh the Thunderfury proc.
When a single item limits the choice of items, skills, and builds to use, it's overpowered. You cannot make every item overpowered, because if you would, then by definition it would not be overpowered anymore. Overpowered kind of means something along the lines of "too powerful compared to the rest of available items". So, saying that bugfixes (or to go with your language, nerfs) are bad and they should rather buff everything, you are asking for the same thing, only with the difference that this would 1) take a lot of time (about a year, I'd guess, based on the itemization development for RoS) and 2) likely cause the entire balance to fail as absolutely everything needs to be re-balanced. You talk about "mediocre legendaries", but if every weapon would have an effect as powerful as the unfixed Shard of Hate, every weapon would be mediocre. It's all about balance.
Call the changes to Moonlight Ward, Mirrorball, and Shard of Hate whatever you want - bugfix, hotfix, patch, nerf; it doesn't matter. There's no alternative. The alternative you're proposing is outright asking for a broken game. No thank you. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I'd say don't worry about how others feel about the game. If YOU are having fun, that's the only thing that matters! Good luck on your journeys!

Watch these things be right under our noses!!! lol...Remember the old adage - "the best place to hide something is right in the open". Perhaps, we're overthinking something that, in the end, we're gonna punch ourselves in the face and go " JEEEZ, that was SIMPLE!!"
Pay no mind to me, I'm just an old fart....sometimes I just blurt out shit for no reason!
