Man some people are ridiculous, i am STILL hearing the complaints about no mods/ offline only/ RMAH.
no mods and offline only go hand in hand. To make mods, someone would need the architecture of the game to change things around. And to play offline your computer would have to have every diablo 3 file. This leads to immediate hacking, duping, and scamming. with a real money auction house this HAS to be forbidden, because while before the aforementioned hacking and duping was annoying, now its a way to make money illegally, posing real legal threats to blizzard.
Now I'm sure your question is, well why the eff do we even NEED a RMAH? Because unless you want diablo to go the way of WoW with almost every item soulbound / BoA, and you want to lose the fun of your friend finding that awesome sword and letting you have it, you need the RMAH. Without it, all those 3rd party websites will pop up, and people will STILL be able to buy and sell the items, but its unsecured, and shadey, and when you spend that 200$ on those items, and they don't deliver, you are screwed, blizz won't, and can't step in to help. Its a lesser of two evils, and I would rather have blizz oversee player to player transactions.

proletaria posted a message on Magic Find and the importance in D3The death of MF stacking frees up more builds to "farm," with too. I thought the old MF was a pretty silly system myself. It simply rewarded classes and builds that allowed for mf itemization to the exclusion of other stats and generated an entire gearset that had no use except to grind with.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

Viyro posted a message on Magic Find and the importance in D3Good discussion, curious to see where this one goes. What I'm expecting MFing to be is more of a kill monsters in a specified place and yes kill bosses but the killing to get to the boss is necessary as I'm about 100% sure you won't be able to just spam teleport like in D2.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion -

I look forward to every single one of your posts. And I'm never disappointed. You're like a microcosm of entertainment. +1Quote from RokkitSerjun
When D2 was released over a decade ago, one of it's cutting edge features was the client-server online protection. At the time of release this was top-shelf security and it took quite some time before any real cracks appeared in it. However, with enough time and effort everything can be cracked and now we have to current botfest of D2.
Now they wish to make D3 as secure as possible at release. If to get a high level of security so that bots/hackers/dupers/asswipes don't ruin my gaming experience I don't care if they force you to breath into a tube to get the program started. If it can keep my playing experience fun for as long as possible I say do it.
Whats even more ironic/moronic is that I bet 90% of the people who played D2 did so online or at best played offline only when forced to. Lets get real, in todays broadbanded world will being connected to play really be a problem? The only time I'm not connected is during a power outage, which tends to cause a serious degrade in gaming experience by itself. Get real and find something realistic to bitch about...

I'm thinking were getting waaaaaay to lazy if we aren't even willing to pick up our drops and handle them appropriately.
Also who says theres going to be 'worthless greys' like in WOW? Even if there are non-magical grey items who says their worthless? Maybe if they do exist they can be broken down into crafting mats...

Once again IMHO I would like to see a good 'MF Build' be finding somewhere in the game you wish to get drops from and designing a build and gear set to farm it efficiently. For instance say you want to go for the more drops = more chances build, make a AOE build and head off to the D3 equivalent of the flayer jungle. Then if there are some tough munsters with better drop rates somewhere, you design a diffent build so as to be able to take them down.
But this is just a dream, as I already believe +MF gear is included in some fashion. I just hope it isn't over the top like in D2 where thats all you designed characters to do. In my book MF Baal runs = BORING!

Apology accepted, so lets all forget about the little misunderstanding and get back to talking about what were really here to talk about - D3!

Try running a 8 player party with a summon heavy necro or two, then add in a firewall sorc, and maybe a frozen orb or blizzard sorc for good measure and tell me what kinda frame rate you get... Okay I know YOU have the $6,000 uber pro top of the line newb owning game system, but the rest of the world will be lucky if their screen doesn't explode.
4-5 players per game honestly sounds about right to me, and I think it will improve overall gameplay and game balance in D3.
I guess well just have to wait and see what the end result is, but I think they are on the right track.
Peace
