I would prefer and i'm sure many will that instead of competition being horizontally based only on time to go up vertically in the form of raising your GR lvl each time you beat the timer.

Practically you would have the same timer that was used for the original rift but each time you beat the timer you go up higher.

To start from a 55 - 65 gr and fight your way towards 70 - 75+ would be much more entertaining.

New Blue definition for challenge Rifts

"Challenge Rifts Leaderboards are about how much time you dedicate to fishing in a mind-blowingly easy content with skill taking a backseat again on most classes."

Why don't they just save themselves the trouble and pick higher grs ? you will not find such crappy builds at gr 70 80.

How do you identify such builds with an algorithm? I mean we can easily browse the LBs and spot fun builds, but how to program the selection system to do it? It is not that trivial.

Is not that hard actually, is all about the conditions that must be satisfied for the build to be picked.

    For example:
    - If the builds have set piece must be at least 4 or maybe 6 or less if counting RORG
    - If the builds have LON then put a counter on the number of ancients required

Ofc there are some other factors but they themselves can be translated into picking conditions. All mistakes from builds can be changed to conditions.

What we have seen with that DH from EU CR Week 1 was
    - No movement speed
    - He was using Cindercoat ( fire ) in cube but had main attack a physical multishoot.
    ...

The lower they go with the greater rifts the worse the builds are.

The Challenge Rifts System doesn't remember leaderboards past previous one. Its mindboggling how Blizzard dared to describe challenge rifts like something good for competition.

rift RNG - everyone has exactly the same circumstances to deal with. And you can challenge literally everyone. The rift itself is not meant to be challenging at all.

You have no idea how much RNG is in those Challenge Rifts. The higher you are on the leaderboards the more you farm for Globes. Don't even get me started on that oculus or other RNG factors that can come with the builds.
Challenge Rifts are a failure for the competitive part of the community. You can defend them as much as you want but the truth is that they do not work as intended, not for the competitive players at least.
    The problems are those
    1. Challenge Rifts are apparently not very important, seems they were created as a niche system, when you beat your timer there is no announcement in clan list / friend list like it is in Greater Rifts making it even less rewarding for competitive players.
    2. I am not 100% about that but some players seem to be, leaderboards only remember the last 2 weeks the rest being deleted.
    3. Challenge Rifts are to easy, making Globes ( and seconds ) extremely important ( a bad globe drop from 1 elite can make you reset the timer ). On top of this certain builds have more RNG factors like the EU DH that had oculus meaning you also farm for those factors. Mind you while is easy to get a 200 rank maybe even 100 on leaderboards, the close you get to the top 10 the more fishing you do. This makes for an extremely blunt experience.

No one said there is no skill in doing them but there is no reward for doing them over and over and over, that paired with the monotony of the rift being to low it kills of any players that try to compete. Sure if you want to do them only once than there is nothing wrong with them.

The problem is, as Ive said in other threads, that some people mistook CRs for something else entirely, then tried to force that false impression onto others which in turn created even more disappointment to the players that were misled into believing they were the target audience.

Ultra competitive means one thing to one person and something else to another, and to further complicate things there are always those that think they will gain some superiority by falsely claiming to be that competitive, so expect to see many people that have neither the skill level or competitive nature to make the same old Diablo based excuses for why they think CRs are in their opinion so terrible, meanwhile the rest of us will accept them as a quick way to get 8 of each bounty mats and move on.

Ultra competitive is ultra competitive blob problem is those ultra competitive players will soon stop playing as I stoped after the first gr. I placed rank 11 but I got burned out pretty fast by how easy the Grift was and how many times we needed to run it because of the insane RNG generated by globes and oculus ring. None of my friends/ clan members were playing them in a competitive mode ider. I was feeling like I play something that doesn't even matter to the majority of players.

Its clear that Blizzard wants Challenge Rifts to stay a niche system, when you rank higher or with better time in Greater Rift you see a nice announcement in clan and friends list. With challenge rifts, nothing is like it doesn't even matter.
Soon no one will play them and I said why, no point starting a conversation with the same people about something they don't give a rats arse.

Blaming the players for CR's being so bad received is a little lame don't you think blob ?

To play it once is ok but whats the point, to show noobs how to make a bad build ?

To play is in a competitive way, TOTAL WASTE OF TIME because there is no difficulty other than execution AAAAAAAND there is fishing, yea boy and gals there is FISHIING and a lot of it. With every build it will be some kind of RNG on top of GLOBES RNG.

I played it for 4+ hours and the fishing is real :(

When Joe says "Ultra-competitive players should look forward to Challenge Rifts since everyone will have the same powers and Paragon level." he means the competition will be even, same skills, same passives, same paragon.

ULTRA-COMPETITIVE players will never play those greater rifts because of one thing and one thing only, they are TO EASY. Saying something like that actually creates a lot of hype for something that is challenging not Grifts 22 ~ False Advertising or maybe they just changed from "Ultra-competititive" to "Ultra-noobs" in the mean while so anyone can do them.

You stil don't get it ?

    Quote from Abobgo-next

Oh and that also means you only speak for yourself when you try to belittle anyone who is happy doing "20-40 grifts", Its pathetic that you feel the need to insult a whole group, just to feel some superiority.

Tiered Challenge Rifts means noobs have something to play but also that more experienced players have the Hyped Competition that they promised. What about what I said in the first thread insults anyone ?
Saying noob is not an insult btw, noob = newbie = new player.

If not then I might going f. blind. Please don't tell me your first language is English and you don't understand what that guy said, because that would be hilarious.

if you still have trouble understanding let me know, I will waste 2 minutes from my life to translate it as simple as I can.
