posted a message on need nfo for hardcore
Well since the prior posts have been unproductive at best...

Here is what they have said about hardcore:

    1. They will absolutely have it in the game
    2. Characters will stand out to others in channels or other media as undoubtedly hardcore
(very similar to D2 with the battle stances, but speculated that other additions to character image will be added)

There will probably not be much more to it than that, but wait for blizzcon to see any other changes

posted a message on Monitor size for demos...?
I can see where you are coming from as far as pixelation is concerned. I suppose with D3 the UI will be so necessary, outspoken, and cool looking that I may want to run with it on (i.e. leave my inven. going rightscreen).

In order to do that I want to have a fair visibility on the rest of the screen, so I may choose to go with the larger screen like Azriel pointed out, and maybe take the hit in exact image sharpness.

posted a message on Osama Bin Laden's Letter to America
Bin Laden operates by employing assumptions and absolutes. The belief of a fair amount of his followers corresponds to this absolution.

Bin Laden makes weak points about American involvement when forming his accusations. A hand in something differs greatly from a cause for something, a part in something differs greatly from a source for something, and a formed alliance differs greatly from an allied evil.

Take everything that Bin Laden and those who follow his school of thought say with a grain of salt, the extent of his cloudy education is rumored studies in religion. Theologists don't often make the best leaders in the modern world.

posted a message on Monitor size for demos...?
Haha, okay, I figured. I just imagined some guy saying, that looks just like my __" monitor. It just looks like a great resolution to play on. But maybe that is me just idealizing the game.

posted a message on Monitor size for demos...?
I tried searching this, but didn't really see anything similar,

Does anyone know what size monitors we see blizzard employing for the D3 demo? 23 inch? greater than 23 inches? less?

If anyone knows or can speculate I'd love to know, that looks like a great size to play on.

    Thank you!

posted a message on A computer specifically for D3...?
Is anyone making or buying a computer specifically (or mostly) for Diablo 3 playing...?

I am going to get a new desktop for the occasion, and I was wondering if anyone has ideas for what will and wont be needed in the bundle!

I do know that specs haven't been released, but I know some of you eagle eyed gamers can tell what is and isn't going to be needed. Fill me in if you have any video card/ monitor(resolution)/ cpu/ anything suggestions!

I'm all ears for your speculations.

posted a message on Religion Vs. Science
This is kind of unclear. Science is not some absolute set of facts known by those who have discovered them and applicable in all situations infinitely. In fact, nothing is fact. All of it is just tested theory, granted some theories may test more consistently to have one outcome, but true "fact" is non-existent.

I majored in chemistry, focusing in physical, organic, and abstract applications to soils, and I have taken a fair amount of physics courses since. Im not trying to make some end all be all "rethink your life" statement, Im just simply stating that no one has an explanation. No explanation is rock solid. Everything is theoretical.

I suppose a system of beliefs is just how closely your mind lets you relate to a given theory. If that theory is a higher power, you say you follow a religion, if that theory is string, big bang, or evolution, you say you follow science. Just realize, you cant call science facts. Facts are finite, discrete, tangible concepts that can be proven without fault. Nothing scientific falls into that category, I absolutely, undeniably guarantee that.

posted a message on no town portals = no rushing & awkward multiplayer?
Im also pretty sure that since tps are going, you ought to be prepared by every stage in the game you reach. What I mean by this is; if you get to a boss and can not use tps, you will probably be prepared to fight him without any HUGE need to get to town (granted he will be dropping globes, but that is another issue).

From the fact that blizzard will probably have you be prepared as you reach each area in the game, I can only imagine that they will not support unprepared characters progressing quickly. This leads me to think that they will not support rushing, and instead people will have to experience each part of the game almost completely linearly in order to be at the desired level for each boss, etc.

    It only makes sense.

posted a message on Am I too old to play D3?
    Quote from neryreginato

Thank's god! I was thinking I was the old one! My girlfriend keeps saying to me that im old for those online games, and I won't explain it here, It get really bad when she says it

Hey man, Im 23 too. I will be 24 when it comes out, and starting law school in the fall of the year it comes out. Just so you know, Ive decided to play it as long as I limit myself when necessary. Ive thought a lot about the age thing, whether I was hurting myself by playing video games etc. etc.

I realized that if I only did what Im "supposed to" for my age I would be out drunk a few times a week, spending shit tons of money eating everywhere under the sun, and setting myself back more so than playing a video game and genuinely having fun.

About the girlfriend thing, if she loves you, she can deal with it. The only thing you have to do is show her that you can be a person and a boyfriend, (and maybe a provider depending on the situation) all while still making yourself happy by playing when you can.

posted a message on If anyone still wonders about the d3 release date...
    Quote from Calyx

    Quote from Willicus

Will Blizzard go a year without releasing something that would bring them so much revenue in an otherwise empty quarter?

You seem to have forgotten something. 2-3 months worth of WoW subscriptions bring more money for blizzard than an entirely new non-monthly fee game does. As well as, Blizz survived the past 6 years releasing games (expansions) only biannually.

Yes, biannually, as I said, 2 (or more) games a year. Prior to about 2006 it wasn't so, it was fewer games, but that was a different time.

The wow subscriptions absolutely provide for the company, I would never argue that. Arguably more so than a new release, but without numbers that is speculation. What I am saying is, as a consistent revenue source to raise quarters beyond that of wow subscriptions, blizzard will continue releasing games as often as possible. It will always be in the market to attract further investment, and the best way to do that folks? Thats right, spike your revenues more than once and ideally more than twice per year. With multiple revenue spikes your security goes up and your variance goes down.

With all that being said, it will be sc2expansion late 2011, and d3 early to middle. No question about it.

    Quote from Akuma_Gin

    Ah, I hope it's earlier than June 29th :D

A little off-topic regarding Cataclysm: a bulgarian site for purchasing games just announced the pre-order of Cataclysm and it says it's expected in November this year and these guys have not even once announced a false pre-order, so did Blizz say something about Cataclysm's release? Since we are talking about releases I thought we can speak on this, too :D

You know, I had heard nothing about cataclysm release. It makes a lot of sense though, the hype created by blizzcon has to be channeled into something, and it seems like it would be a great chance to pump out some cataclysm fever. Otherwise I feel like blizzcon is a wasted venture you know?

So yeah, cataclysm this year compleeeetely sets the stage for d3 in the first half of next year. Good job bulgarian gaming site, we salute you.

posted a message on If anyone still wonders about the d3 release date...
What I said with my original post about quarter being somewhat blurred should probably best suit the June 29th idea.

They will try to make more than one big release if they can, revenues now = interest later, thats how these big boys operate (to the best of my knowledge).

I would say that June 29th is a solid bet.

Should we... just say that? June 29th it is?

    Guys...

Did we just announce the official release date?!?

I think we did. Lets go with it. Thanks umpa!!!
