Puzzle: None, unless stuff like Myst counts.

Myst does, I was actually a massive fan. What is it about Myst that appealed to you?

So, hi there! Today I am going to ask a question in which I respectfully ask for an honest and serious response. This is part of research for a project I’m involved so I’ll be asking this same question across three of four forums, each with a specific fan-base.

So, what I want to know is this. What is one single favourite game of these genres. What is it that defines the genre and makes the game you liked so good? A short description of this would help a lot. If you do not have a favourite in any particular genre, what is it that repels you from the genre?

    1. RPG (Examples: Dragon Age: Origins, Final Fantasy, Neverwinter Nights etc)
    2. FPS (Examples: Call of Duty, Crysis, Left 4 Dead etc)
    3. Action/Adventure (Examples: Assassins Creed, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid etc)
    4. RTS (Examples: Starcraft, Command & Conquer, Age of Empires etc)
    5. Puzzle/Casual (Examples: Angry Birds, Jewel Quest, Peggle, Professor Layton etc)
    6. MMO (Examples: World of Warcraft, EVE: Online, City of Heroes etc)

    Rpg- diablo 2
    Fps- I guess cod 4
    Rts- wc2
    Puzzle- columns
Mmo- wow is the only I have played

Much appreciated - to elaborate on a couple of things, what makes you choose CoD, WC2 and Columns over over examples of their genres?

Arry whispered a prayer, knowing this would ease the pain of what would come next. He then began a series of small assaults at the zombie, continuously issuing a few hits then backing off. Both The Paladin and the fiend took blows but slowly the life returned to Arry. However with both the flames and the fallen Arry could not continue this alone, so he retreated completely (the zombie seemed to follow him part way and then return to the point he was stationed at before). Another prayer was chanted out of his lips, this one was for his allies.

"All together now..." he yelled before charging at the beast, all but hoping his comrades would follow his lead...

    Quote from Siaynoq

I'm just saying I'm surprised that more of you didn't raise your eyebrow at Raynor's total forgiveness toward Kerrigan. Remember how fucking annoying that bitch was in Brood Wars? Hell, even the original Starcraft? And all the things Raynor said to her about killing her one day. I know she's an important part of the story so she can't just die, but I seriously had blue balls from him not kicking her while she was down. And to make it all worse he had to carry her out like Jesus or something.

Of course I stand by my original statement which I know (in my head at least) is 100% correct in its validity. However yes I did question Raynor's ease of which he forgave but there are a few things to consider:

    1) This is a guy in love who thought that the humanity in Kerrigan had faded for good and then discovers that there maybe a way to restore her. Then he see's his love for the first time for the first time with some aspect of humanity. Of course he'll embrace it!

    2) These are the first moments he has had with her, he's in a battlefield (or what remains of one) and hasn't had the chance to talk with Kerrigan or think himself, the first reaction seeing a human side to her is that of warmth. Everything else comes later. Remember that we don't know much more of his reaction to everything or of her true nature yet.

Arry begins by once again casting a prayer...

Hoping that this might ease the pain of the oncoming undead assault he then leaps ahead of Anagra, lunges forward and decapitates a zombie with ease.

"To arms my kin and keep up!" yells the Paladin "Those who can land blows to the foulness atop of the vantage point, do so" there was a pause "everyone else be sure to tame these monstrousities coming for us".

Arry turns around, his face is without expression, looking at the party of adventurers he realizes their worth in the battles before but says nothing of it, instead he chooses to look at the Barbarians "Come on, prove your wor..." he begins to chide but is cut short by three fallen pulling him to the ground.

Ya, staying alive right now for me is pretty much solely motivated by playing D3 and becoming a better artist.

Worringly enough, exactly the same here.

Well, I just hope this is true, but as I said these guys have Never even once gave a false pre-order, and I was reading something about a November release in the official WOW forums, so who knows, it really may be true :D I can give you guys the link but I don't know if the forum rules allow me to :)

I know PC Gamer UK have said November 2010 for Catalysm for the last two months - with risk of it falling later perhaps.

we will be going to the den soon. I was hoping that arry and kierai would gt a chance to post but i am not sure they are still interested in playing. I will move us to the den of evil soon enough.

@irrational - your character does not have bone armor. We are each only allowed three skills per tier.

Sorry I am very interested unfortunately I got hit by a particilarly naty virus/malware combo at the end of last week and have just ten minutes ago got it sorted.

Grunting from exhaustion Arry slammed his sword into the ground before whispering a prayer to the divine.

"This should help..." yelled the paladin, sure enough the lifeforce returned to those around him. With a renewed spring-in-his-step the holy warrior ripped his blade from the earth and threw himself at the last remnents of the fallen.

Arry leaning against a wall at the Northern Gate offers Grogbaargh a look of disdain, but says nothing. He then kneels upon the floor and begins to pray to the divine.

I think that'd be fine. Characters with varied personality make decent RP.

"If you say so Barbarian Grogbaargh, just remember that you are one of the 'brutes' your 'wise' Tilika refers to..." Arry pauses for a moment, stands up and sighs "...anyway let us say no more. My name is Arry Greenthorne - I am (as you have already noticed) a Paladin and in the name of all that is good I say that we put our differences aside. Now, I'll take my leave of you, the Nothern Gate is where you'll find me".
