Torchlight is great. It's made by the same devs that created Diablo 1 & 2. What's not to like? It even has music by Matt Oelmen, who created the D1/2 tunes. A bargain at $20, and it often can be had for far less. It's only $10 on Steam right now, and I got it from there for only $5 (!) on sale a few days ago.
Now that's what I call good value for money!

Gotcha beat. I was 38 when Diablo 1 hit the shelves. Hard to believe I've been playing Diablo games that long. I just hope I get to play D3 before Alzheimers sets in..
D3 will likely get released for consoles. But not right away. Probably similar to Diablo 1 being released for Playstation 2 a year later. It's not in their best interest anyway. If the game is only available for PC at first, many console owners who also own a PC will get the game for that platform, thus maximizing sales for the PC version..
personally i think it will be june 29 2011 i think they have most of the game done by now just tweeks. I think they will try to make it a big thing and have it released on the 10 year anny of LoD. Just like they did for everything else.( diablo 1 june 29th, Diablo 2 june 29th, LoD june 29th, annoucement of D3 june 28th(they had too blizzcon was over after that) so my overall guess is they will try to get out as close to june 29th as possible.

Umm, sorry but Diablo 1 released on Jan. 2nd, not June 29th. D3 more than likely will be released on June 29th (and probably 2011). However they might also wait until January 2012, which would mark the 15th anniversary of Diablo 1. Personally I hope it's 2011.
To those who say if Blizzard waits until 2012 to release D3 because many won't buy the game due to outdated graphics, that will not be a factor at all. Both D1 and D2 released with already outdated graphics, and look how many copies those two games sold. Blizzard has never been about bling, only whether the game is fun and will run on the maximum number of PC's, not just the top end machines of hardcore gamers..
I just read where they are only up to Act II. That's a lot of work left to do. Sounds like maybe 2012 instead of 2011..
They already confirmed that they are not working on acts in a linear fashion! They are developing them simultaneously! Who knows, maybe Act IV is already complete while they are adding last tidbits to Act III! Just an example, of course!
Let's hope so. I want to play D3 next year, not the year after next..
Graphics look fine to me; way better than D2 (and they should). Diablo graphics have never been state of the art anyway; designed so that you don't need a Kray supercomputer to run the game. Plus the game's only half done; I'm sure there will be further improvements to the graphics..
If you take what Blizz said, word for word, it'd be anytime between 7/27/2010 (SC2's release) and 7/26/2011 (1 year time frame).
But, since the first SC2 expansion probably won't be released anytime this year, and the recent conference call didn't mention anything on D3 this year, I'd say if what Blizz said is true, D3 would be released sometime between Jan/June 2011.
If Diablo III is not released on June 29, 2011, I will be very surprised. Here's why: Diablo II and its expansion both came out on June 29, and Diablo III was announced at the Blizzard WWI which was held on June 28-30. It also falls within the time schedule you mentioned, pretty near to the end of it (which seems just right for Blizzard).

omfg I think it is So Annoying about how people think that is real it pisses me off, anyways I think that it will be out about the same time as Starcraft 2 next years summer
I've did some searching on release dates with Blizzard games. Over the years it seems that any game in the Diablo or Starcraft universe has a late spring or early summer release. But any game based in Warcraft has been released in the holiday season. Just a little information for all the people wondering what quarter D3 could possibly release in.
You only have to look at past Diablo release dates. If D3 does not come out on June 29th (of whatever year), I'll be very much surprised..
I'm in the rogue camp as far as what I think the next class will be.
That said, an idea has occurred to me. Is it possible that someone who was once one class may find their way into another? For example (and this is my idea). Lets say the last class is the paladin, but with a twist. After the fall of Kurast back in D2, the Paladins fell on hard times. Zakarum probably isn't very much loved, and neither do they wish to re-align themselves with that past. Instead they take to exile. Exiled Knights, living in the forest as Rangers and protectors to people who no longer see them the way they used to and who no longer look up to them as Knights in Shining Armor. They take up the bow, and the hunt.
Just a thought. Probably nothing.
Oh, and I'll bet it will be female. 3 males, 2 females, thats how D2 did it.
IMO the 5th class will be a Ranger. If the Barbarian is the only returning class, and a bow-using character is a must, then a Ranger will fill the requirement.
Also, did you play D2 at all? If so what was your main character/s?
Oh yeah, played D2 when it first came out, and off and on ever since. Necro was my usual character. Just started playing again (finally got it to work on Vista 64). Playing a Druid at the moment..
This consoles vs PC debate has been going on for eternity. PC games aren't going anywhere. PC's are upgradeable, much more powerful than any console, and offer much more precise control for games like D3, SC2 etc. And of course many PC titles are modable, something you won't see on a console. It is true however, that some former PC developers have gotten lazy and don't want to go through the trouble to make a game that will run on many different computer systems, which is unfortunate.
Luckily we still have companies like Blizzard, Bioware and Bethesda still supporting the PC gamers..
