posted a message on Server Status on the Front page plz
So now that the game is released, It might be nice to have a little panel or something that gives the status of the servers and if they are down, an ETA for when the servers will be up. Trying to navigate @BlizzardCS and their forums is a nightmare. You could also have it link to a thread about the server being down so that the forums aren't flooded with a million "Servers are borked" threads.

I'd rather go here than Blizzard forums. Thanks guys.

posted a message on 2005: Will there be a Diablo 3?
In 2005 I was on a 2 year hiatus from all video games. When I started playing again in 2008 I was like "Where is Diablo 3? Hasn't it been long enough?"

If my account hasn't been flagged yet does that mean no go? Sad day... Then again, they will probably be closing the beta soon anyway.

    -Item drop rate (including gems)
-Max auction values (capping all auction items at a specific $ amount)
-More endgame content that is item dependent (something like D2 ubers)
    -Difficulty of farming

Am I the only one that thinks there are too many variables and not enough late-game information to make accurate predictions at this point? We can only speculate about the value of gold because we do not know how late-game gold drops will work. Not all the items have been set yet. Blizzard can also "tweak" the economy by changing or adding items via patches.

yep, its more powerful than my laptop which runs great, all laptops should use low setting to avoid overheating and damage.

Is ^^this true? I'm looking to buy a laptop before the game releases but I would like to play at better than low settings. I've also posted some specs on my desktop, although I can't remember them all, I built the thing 4 years ago. It's a little dated but runs SC2 on high just fine.

    Potential Laptop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152308

    Desktop Specs
    Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz
    GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB GDDR3
6 GB OCZ Reaper DDR2 SDRAM
    80 GB WD Caviar harddrive
    500 GB WD harddrive

How will these two computers run this game?

I don't play WoW so I don't know how this works there but I prefer when the stats match the look of the armor. I can't remember but I think somewhere when they were talking about armor design that they wanted the stats of the item to match the look of the item.

posted a message on Kick System: what do we think of it?
I think kicking should be allowed but make it buried in menus. The harder it is to kick somebody, the less likely it would be used by griefers.

Is it possible to have a game and lock it so that others cannot join? That would prevent people from joining games that are just a couple of buddies playing together.

I think you can't use the $5 on the game itself. You get it after the purchase of the game, which means you have to buy something else in order to use the gift card.

I think his point was more that for each kill there could be four item drops. Player 1 sees item A, player 2 item B, 3 item C and 4 item D. Now, ideally, if you're in a group of friends and player 1's item A is ideally suited to player 3 then they can swap, trade, barter or whatever.

Ofc, there is no need to do this. You don't have to share loot, or even loot link in PuGs BUT if you play with dedicated friends then I'm sure the best thing for the group is to loot share.

There's nothing to stop you from sharing loot with friends even if you all play solo. Anyway, don't get me wrong, I'd stil encourage people to play in groups, for two reasons: It's more efficient, and it's more fun.

OP asked if you need a group to MF. Answer is no, BUT...

The BEST way to MF would be to find a group of friends and pool the items. Random groups may get you through mobs faster, but no one is likely to share. I think that is still better than soloing because you can get through mobs faster.

Its a toss of the dice whether or not the group MF is better than your personal MF. I would say if you're personal MF is much higher than the groups, it is better to solo.

(Funny, after re-reading my post I substituted another phrase for MF besides magic find. It was much more entertaining.)

Hopefully this is accompanied by a huge wave of opt-ins. Then again, playing the beta for 2 weeks before they close it prior to launch might be lame.

Need a group? Nope probably not.

However the benefit of a group is that each monster essentially has a drop for each player. Which means the more people in the game, the more loot to drop. The more loot that drops, the odds of finding the best items increases.

The only downside is the difficulty bump for larger groups.
