Tenacious D was pretty damn funny at Blizzcon. I enjoy these guys because I am a musician and know what its all about to have a sense of a humor type band.

Good times but I thought this post was going to be about the epic battle they had with Diablo! Linked here

I think the majority of you guys are overlooking some valuable concepts. Once again, everyone likes to focus on DAMAGE DAMAGE DAMAGE!?
This game has a lot more important concepts to focus around than that. I for one thought that this skill looked right how I imagined it would be. I mean... that's how the D2 fetish army appeared isn't it? Furthermore, when you add runes you'll receive the other more annoying fire fetish and blow dart boy as well.
But besides the appearance of the skill, remember the enemies are actually targeting them so that makes a HUGE impact on the current battle you will be experiencing. The WD can pretty much sit safely and cast other skills while this skill lasts 20 seconds which is quite a while if you play in game. That equals more survive-ability, mobility, mana regeneration, cooldown resets, and a list of less obvious advantages im sure.
There are a number of passives that will help make a pet-based build really effective.

This skill is one that falls under special tactics, not "omg looks lame no damage! WHAAH!"

I will be using this skill in my blood golem build as planned

I am happy for you. On the other hand, i don't like it because it his a hard investment for what it provides. Could be effective if you encounter elites once every 120 seconds...

So zombie dogs isn't a hard investment? That seems like it will be "casted" a lot less than every 120 seconds if you ask me. Even if you're correct about that, think about it: There are 6 skills you can have at one time! Not all your skills should be or will be, spammable high dps type skills. If they are than your build won't survive long or have many variables for different circumstances..

Like I said, im totally comfortable with this skill. Its something im looking forward to using

get a better job... i support things i enjoy in life including diablo and make plenty enough to do so

What an unneccessary comment. I make PLENTY to be able to afford basically anything I want outside of the most lavish cars and houses. I'm not getting the CE because it's "too much money" relative to the throwaway plastic crap inside.

It's much more like "hey these people have been waiting years for this game, we can easily throw in $5-$10 of extras and charge an additional $40+ for these CE versions." CEs have always been an easy cashgrab for major IPs of any producer. Oh, and if you justify doing because you want to "support blizzard" then you are fucking retarded. Blizzard doesn't need any additional support, it's small struggling developers and production companies that do. Every cent you spend on blizzard goes directly into Activi$ions wallet (who was a huge supporter and funder of SOPA). A bill that would have permanently shut down diablofans.com.

    You guys are fucking sheep.

lol... Well then. Thanks for your opinion. No, "nobody needs support." Well then your a selfish sad little man. Blizzard just laid off hundreds of employees. They don't do that because things are great. Also I am so sorry for supporting a developer that makes games you and I are both connected to on a fan's forums.. How does that make sense?
I support a lot more than Diablo. SC2 streaming, local bands music, friends, family, charity, small business owners, and this Sunday I am running a marathon for The Kidney Foundation against kidney disease makes me a "fucking retarded?" Right? So I support the little guys too, your argument is stupid. It basically comes down to:

I want stuff I like. I can afford it because I put myself through a good education, which got me a great job that pays great, so I possess everything I want including D3 CE. ShermenZ pretty much hit the nail on the head again.

I love the franchise and will drop dough because its worth it to me, if you don't think so well, that's your opinion.

Yeah did you even read? The employ lay-off was middle management bloat that happens with company growth over time. It's not a sign of a company struggling so much as a company just trimming fat of redundant positions. Blizzard is one of the most successful production companies in the world, LMAO if you think they are struggling to make ends meet. And I'm assuming you didn't even read the part where by supporting activision, blizzards parent company, you are indirectly supporting the illegalization of fansites like diablofans.com. You are literally helping get this site removed from the internet.

That is a little farfetched, nothing on this site is illegal, there isn't a NDA on Diablo3, so if its in the game files, its fare game.

Activision was a major SOPA supporter. This contains copywritten activision content on it. It would have been completely within the scope of SOPA for diablofans (and pretty much all of cursegaming as a whole) to be forcibly taken down.

    Knowledge is Power!

Knowledge is power for you have none. You fabricate yourself into thinking you know exactly what you are talking about when in truth you don't. You take a piece of a conversation and warp it into what you think is a great argument. This topic is about the CE and who's getting it, not blizzard, support of activision, SOPA, or anything else you keep bringing up.
    Congrats for being you

First of all Id like to just say, yes my original comment was condescending and posted in a quick hurry, sorry for that one.
ShermenZ pretty much says it how it is in his post. work to live, dont live to work. Also, for the record. I do have all those things, because I work hard to enjoy everything I can out of my life. If that means D3 CE for my gf, brother and I.. then so be it. Its pretty much the only game I play at the moment (beta), and like many here I have been playing Diablo since the 90s so why not? I bought CDs to support a band yesterday *agalloch is a great band* when I could have just downloaded their music? I always give to charity too. By supporting these things, does that make me childish? Im wasting my own earned money? I take care of myself and others in my life.. I don't need to explain anymore, the majority took defense from your stupid comment already.

:D it sounds like you are working just to be able to buy games, what a stupid thing to do in life.Because there are more inportant things just to waste money on some games :D. But whatever, not all people are like you who lives just for game, and will do all just to get some stupid collectors editions witch gives you nothing more than standart edition. You have same lvl cap, same chars, same relese date, and same opening servers time.So whats makes you so special with your better job then others?I will answear my question in your place.Your stupid childish brains makes you special, becsuse others are not so dumb, to waste money on some CE.But you I guess would hang yourself if you wouldnt get CE(collectors edition).

    What a stupid comment.

Yes his comment about getting a better job if you can't buy the CE is stupid as well, and condescending.
But eventually, he's right. He works for his money, he has every right to buy a big screen tv, an expensive car, weed or alcohol.
And even, a Diablo 3 CE. Especially if he likes Blizzard and want to support them.

If he has enough food for his loved ones, a roof over their heads, and health, then why not treat your self?
After all these years, I doubt a true hardcore fan of the Diablo franchise won't buy the CE.

Besides I think we can all agree when I, and others, are saying "Just wait until Inferno" we're simply meaning, hey'a think beta be hard! can you imagine that Inferna! I hear that's a doozY! Of course this is all speculation but you get the point

played through with a lot of hardcore characters now and didn't experience that much difficulty..
Only every once and a while in a full game, I am alone, and encounter a group of Elites, or fighting the SK do I feel a little bit poised to click my Potion Key (Q) but other than that.. I cannot relate to you in the slightest...

Just wait til inferno if you make it that far

posted a message on Are you scared of spiders? Not the WD...
    Quote from FixtionFXReality

I already made a previous post on Poison Dart vs Spiders and showed the pro's and con's of each skill and when you would use one over the other.. So I won't go into it again but would just like to say:
    Link it!

"You pick up an item, it does higher dps than your current "magical" item, but your magical item brings a lot more to the table than JUST damage... Which do you use?

Its the same for poison dart vs spiders.
Spiders is a skill that costs 2 mana, allowing it to be spammed non stop while there can be around 350% weapon damage 4(spiders)x20%(damage)x5(jars of spiders active at one time) crawling around looking for enemies, not to mention how buff it becomes with soul harvest. Furthermore, No. Enemies do not target the spiders but It slows them down quite dramatically with each hit, and each spider hits an enemy for an average of 2-3 times before it dies. I also believe in "complimentary skill sets" pretty much meaning 2 particular skills together are fucking badass. Limited to the beta, I think this would be dire bats and Zombie dogs which are kinda complementary to spiders imo, because the Dogs are the objects the zombies seem to go for and attack since the spiders are immobilizing them pretty well. This is a skill where all you see is damage numbers non-stop (if you have that enabled) which is pretty rewarding considering your WD is standing still spamming without a worry of mana or injury. No you won't kill A zombie as fast as you would using poison dart but with no involvement of dps, it does bring a lot more to the table like a magic item vs a regular one.

Now, Poison dart does have higher dps, and costs only 5 mana, which is equally as spammable. I think this is a great skill and will continue to find great use of it but here is my point for this post: I catch myself doing a lot of "kiting" to not take hits from my foes. No im not worried about dying from one hit in the beta, but your forgetting how important that will contribute in the later hell/inferno, especially as a WD. Also with poison dart, it requires a lot more precision with your mouse clicks, since it is a single straight shot. Beta testers should know by now the hit boxes are not that great so having to "micro" to attack and avoid hits is a little harder than the marine from SC2. Plus without the spiders slowing the enemy down you'll have to move a lot more, which on top of trying to be more precious with your attacks can be somewhat, overwhelming defensive. With spiders you can stand safely in a corner somewhere and chuck jars of spiders who will basically do all the work and hunt down the enemy for you, and when your mana is recharged you can go around killing things with direbats again. Which is a good main attack for the beta.

Just like I believe in complimentary skill sets I also believe there are contraindicated skill sets. And using 2 skills ie: (poison dart and dire bats) that basically do the same thing (straight line, high dps) its kinda contraindicated.. Where it could be spiders and dire bats (low dps/ mana spread out attack, high dps/mana cost straight line attack) a lot more beneficial.

Don't get me wrong, all skills in D3 will have its uses, I hope, and we will all find them all and exploit them when the game is released. I just feel like i have to defend the issue of "spiders are weak" "poison dart is your first skill why is it the strongest" and "i dislike jars" because there are topics being overlooked.

Remember people "think outside the beta" skills have more benefit than how much damage it does...
This skill has its uses, just wait and see."

You guys remember how exciting it was when you found out D3 was being created? I remember.. 2008, I was 21, no sooner did I enjoy ordering my first drink did I noticed a splash page causing a lot of raucous on the Blizzard site with some D2 runes clearly inside of the ice. I started playing CS:S and Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne, maybe even Diablo 2, pwning noobs regardless, then went to bed, long day at work/ school. I woke up groggy, my twin brother had his eyes wide open and with a beaming smile said, check this out!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQk_CT7fY9E

After watching this video, we checked out Diablo3.com with our hands still shaking and goosebumps still active and been following its progress there and HERE at Diablofans.com ever since..
Now im 25, will be done with school right before release, living in my house with a girl Ive been with for 3 years, going to have lan party with plenty o meat n meed, ready to install and enjoy!

Its nice to sit back and reflect on how far we've come since then

I just think people stuck in their thought process using their "Beta WD's" who are most likely going to be focused on damage/ kill factor, since there is no real threat in the beta for survival and whatnot. Come May 15th we'll learn that oh, i guess DPS isn't the ONLY thing i should be focused on when picking and choosing skills
