We all agreed that Primals must be more than boring mainstat buffers. I was wondering if we could update the good old Runeword system by following, in order to increase the build variety:There would roll a random rune in front of Primal's name, like "Tal Primal Ancient Warmonger".Could be any other rune as well.
When a player equips a runeword consisting of Primals like TalEthUm, the character gets that Runeword, being for example, "+120% more damage to channeling skills" (or then that runeword would give a certain boost to one of the skills for every class, like to 150% to Disintegrate, 200% to Whirlwind, 100% Rapid Fire etc.)
NOTE! One rune (one Primal) can crossover multiple Runewords if the rune exists in both.
- Propably set items shouldn't roll with a Rune (or should they?)
- Primals could now roll without increased stats but still near the highest stats and maybe with 2 stat rolls.
- Primals could have now a slightly increased droprate.
- Every salvaged Primal would now yield a imbueable Rune.

So every Primal item would kind of be the rune itself. Equipping Primals
so that a Runeword is formed, the character is granted with a runeword.

Combos and depth are endless. The propablity to roll the most optimal Primal gear with desired runes is very small so everyone would have to think by themselves what to do with the build. Imagine the Ourobros rolling with a good rune and you would equip it thanks to that. Not used legendaries would have chance to be used.

Was the most common complain I heard about. It's true, but taking how rare Primals are, it's extremely unlikely that you would ever get the desired combo of the most optimal Primal legendaries and runes imbued to them.

We have basically 8 - 10 piece sets as every 6 piece sets have such a mandatory supporting legendaries. There's pretty much no viable Marauder6 without Bombardier's Rucksack or no viable UE DH without Yang's Recurve and so on. I'd love to have this mixed up. It'd so exciting to know, that our set-in-stone builds had a possibility to be overwhelmed any time by the drops. Now be basically wait for a better Ancient that has 1% more of something. And that's so boring.
The most important aspect with the Runeword Primal idea is that every single legendary would have a chance to be used. Currently one of our biggest issue with D3 is exactly that there's so mandatory legendaries so we don't have to think almost at all. Imagine Pandemonium Loop ring to drop with a rune that fullfills a runeword and then you actually might change your build with a Pandemonium Loop which now wouldn't be the case. After that, you would start to look gear that Fears the monsters and so on.
At least the idea is definitely something worth considering. The much praised D2 had so rare items that I never get them. And that's ok as it is what ARPG's are supposed to be: there should be always a small chanceto have something exciting behind the corner. Now we don't really. -

If the game required a subscription, I could understand feeling that you think you are entitled to some updates/changes because you're still paying for it. But in this case you're not. Sure, other "F2P" games are passing along updates, and Blizzard did for quite a few seasons, but that doesn't mean Blizzard has to keep on with them forever. And if you want to compare D3 to those other games, just go play those other games.

I'm just not certain what would be "different" enough to warrant a whole new game. Sure, new classes and new story and new items. But those could be done in an expansion, right? Would the gameplay be different? Could they make it truly open world rather than 4-man (or 8-man) instances?
Many of the complaints about D3 stem from the systems they've introduced. And these systems were themselves bandaids for other complaints, and it just piled on. I'm talking about the Paragon system, leaderboards and the Greater Rift system mostly. For example, the Grift system as well as leaderboards completely breaks a large part of the game - builds and playstyles. Balance of all 24 sets + LoN builds is nearly impossible when you've got an infinitely harder system that works against it. No matter how you balance the game, Grifts will ALWAYS shave away any build that isn't in the top percent. And that's just one system.
The problem however is completely reworking these systems, or getting rid of them would be far too much a shock to your average player. Most of the players don't spend time here or on other forums, console players included. I think Blizzard is scared (and maybe rightfully so) that changing too much in the form of another expansion for D3 would cause too much chaos. Changing things such as removing the power gained from Paragon points would be too much change.
A smarter move would be a whole new game. It's the perfect excuse. Starting fresh means they can add the classes people ACTUALLY wanted to play, they can move the game BACK to a loot - focused game instead of Greater rifts and away from an XP grind, ect.
So while I'd welcome anything new, I'm *really* hoping for a D4. -

This thread has some general tips and tricks to completing all the Set Dungeons, as well as individual builds and example videos of how to complete each Set Dungeon SOLO!. The videos and guides are based on the current live Patch 2.4, rather than the various PTR (Public Test Realm) versions where Blizzard were balancing the Set Dungeons. If you get assistance with the Set Dungeons, the majority of these are much easier to complete, but I can't really give you many tips there as I've done all of these solo.

Some general comments and tips:
- If you're attempting the Season 5 Conquest for Mastering 8 Set Dungeons and are only plan on playing two classes, by far the two best class choices are Demon Hunter and Crusader. Most of their sets don't require much additional gear so farming up the Sets shouldn't take TOO long and their Set Dungeon difficulty isn't too high. If you have party members to help drop you the various required items, it will speed up the gearing process tremendously. If you play more than two classes, you can pick and choose Set Dungeons from the ranking list below.
- The majority of monsters in Set Dungeons spawn in completely random locations throughout the dungeon! In Set Dungeons where you have to hit a certain amount of monsters with a particular skill, you can constantly restart the Set Dungeon by leaving through the Green Portal that you entered without having to use Town Portal (which takes a long time). This tip will allow you to get the majority of your objectives completed at the start of the dungeon, rather than worrying about it towards the end.
- For players who are unable to select certain skills for their slots, you will need to enable 'Elective Mode' by going to the Game Menu (pressing Escape), clicking the Options tab, clicking the Gameplay tab, then under 'Interface' you need to tick the 'Elective Mode' option. This allows you to pick any and all skills (with some special exceptions) for your Left Click, Right Click, and Slots 1-4.
- The Kanai's Cube recipe (Skill of Nilfur) which converts Set Items into a random item of the same Set will be your best friend, so DON'T scrap any spare duplicate pieces of the Set until you have at least 5 or 6 total items of the Set!
- As mentioned above, it's possible to get party members to assist you in Set Dungeons, which will make the majority of these Set Dungeons easier.
- For Hardcore players, please make sure you attempt these Set Dungeons on 'NORMAL DIFFICULTY'. Also ensure that the rough area around the Set Dungeon is clear of monsters before you attempt it, in case you take fatal damage! When you take fatal damage, a Green Portal spawns in front of you which takes you back to the entrance of the Set Dungeon but DOES NOT HEAL YOU. Therefore a monster can easily take a swipe and kill you. This also means you should avoid using the Moratorium Legendary gem (thanks to user 'Cyberdoc' for bringing this up) at all costs if you play Hardcore, because the gem can 'stagger' and deal damage to you even after you exit the Set Dungeon and kill your character because normal Hardcore death rules apply once you've re-entered the normal world via the Green Portal. An easy fix for Blizzard would be to simply spawn characters at full health when they exit the Set Dungeon, but this is currently not the case.
Below is the overall difficulty of each Set Dungeon - Easiest to Hardest based on my own experiences roughly (your own attempts may vary!). I've started with Easiest so it's clear for anyone wanting to get the Conquest to Master 8 Set Dungeons. Note that the rankings below are just a general idea, it will greatly depend on how comfortable you are with the class and set, as well as supporting gear and RNG in the Set Dungeons.

As you can see the map is quite insane, which is pretty much needed at that level. We actually failed a lot of GR by less than a minute, sometimes without conduit, sometimes without power... We could have done a way better timer on open map like Arreat Cave even with a slightly worse mobtype. We also encountered alot of lag spikes on this clear sadly. But it doesn't matter in the end, a clear is a clear !
I'm writing this post because I wanted to share our GR120 4P clear on EU NS (EU #1) (Just done tonight!) with you. You will think that we are just some high paragon guys fishing for a good rift... But I share this clear with you because this is not exactly the case. We actually replaced the Support Monk by a whole new build that I'm thinking about since 2.4.1 PTR (And even back in 2.4) : The Heal Crusader.
You will say "Nothing new, a lot of people have theorycrafted Support Crusader builds since 2.4". Indeed, since 2.4, there is alot of Support Crusader builds here and there, but none of these builds had the potential to be part of the metagame, mostly because the monks spot is the only viable spot to be replaced by the. Thus, I came up with a Crusader build able to replace the Monk and capable of GR120+.
After alot of brainstorming I finally found a build that was actually worth to try a few weeks ago. So we made a few tries and cleared GR115 pretty easily (You can see it here). After some more tests in GR119/120 and some builds adjustements with my mates LouLou, Hustle and S0RRY, we felt it was clearly viable and we decided to just do it. Our sweet mate S0RRY who was playing Monk switched to Crusader and he actually learned the gameplay really fast !

Some hints :
- The Consecration + Inviolable Faith healing has alot of potential so you can compensate some of the toughness loss quite easily (Blur Passive + Ghost Trance BBV).
- The Sweep Attack packing is insane for Pain Enhancer and Area Damage in high density maps, especially with a static DPS like Twister Wizard.
- The Critical Law is a great DPS buff along with Resolved Judgment. Though, the problem with Judgment is that the Crit Buff doesnt work on CC-immune mobs, so the uptime is not that good sadly.
The potential :
We think it can compete with Support Monk in high end pushing (Likely 122+). I can see Support Crusader and Support Monk being equally viable in the 4 players metagame, Support Monk is in my opinion the safe way with no surprise while Support Crusader is the risky way with opportunities to really shine, more potential. Risky, indeed. Toughness is not a real issue in most cases but some bad elites combos can be hard to survive with a Crusader. Monk is still more consistent for toughness.
Why can it be worth it to play Crusader? Alongside the Critical Law, the main advantage for the Heal Crusader is Gathering Sweep. The more density you have, the more the Crusader will buff your DPS by sweeping mobs. More mobs into PE and ET range, more ET breakpoints, more AD, AD more efficient...
Still, it is very hard to quantify the DPS gain from the Sweep Attack, but playing Crusader is allways a ~5% DPS buff even without Sweep Attack and with Judgment poor uptime taken into account. But, the DPS potential due to Sweep Attack can theoretically be so insane in « dream maps » that it can justify to drop the Monk if you are at your DPS ceiling. In the end, my opinion is that you will have to decide what's best for your group and what you prefer to play.
Note that I'm only talking about the 4 players metagame here. The toughness buffs from Monk are likely mandatory in 2 players and 3 players (With the current Twister build at least, but the concept of Tal Rasha 6P is mostly locking the Wizard build anyway). But maybe we just didn't think enough about it!
The build :
How it works :
I gave up the Roland 6P (250% Attack Speed Bonus) that I tried back in 2.4 to get the Roland 2P (Cooldowns Reset with Sweep Attack) along with the Akkhan 4P (50% RCR while in Akarat and 50% CDR on Akarat) instead.
One of the keys of the build is to use the Akkhan's Addendum in the Cube Weapon Slot which gives you Prophet Rune (150% Armor & Cheat Death Proc) and Embodiment of Power Rune (+5 Wrath Regen) of Akarat Champion and allows you to take Rally Rune.
The Rally Rune is basically resetting all your cooldowns when you use it. One of the other keys to the build is Akarat's Awakening that will reset your cooldowns everytime you block, as with both Justice Lantern and Hold Your Ground Passive, you can be block-capped. Thus, all of this will allow you to put down alot of Consecration very fast and will also allow you to handle your cooldowns and Zodiac ring procs easily, giving you enough freedom to focus on sweeping mobs.
The gameplay is quite obvious and simple : You have to stack Consecration on the floor to get healing, while Sweeping mobs wisely (No mindless spam) into the Twister range. Always use Consecration and Law just before using Rally Akarat (which will reset them) in order to enhance your Consecration Stacking and Zodiac Ring Procs.
You have to use Judgment wisely too, because it roots enemies, you have to figure out the best way to use it : Only on the mobs already stacked with Gathering Sweep into Twister Range, right before an Arcane CoE... Condemn is still very useful to pack density and sometimes keeping it together but Shield Glare may likely be a viable option to get 20% damage buff.
Conclusion :
It seems to me that the build is pretty strong in its current state and may likely be the best group setup while fishing for a dream map in high endgame. The coordination of the group and the teamplay is likely way more difficult to master than with a Monk though.
Remember that the metagame is never settled in stone and copy/paste builds from Rank 1 guys doesn't mean you are playing the best setup (Or the only viable setup). There are so many build-possibilities, so many group synergies that maybe nobody thought about yet, that you can't just say "If Rank 1 is playing this, it is the best build/setup, no matter what". No.
Thus I wanted to thank my mates LouLou, Hustle and S0RRY who are very smart/good players and always want to try out new builds and group setups. Thanks guys, keep up the good work

For the love of God, i spent 200+ keys pushing for LB in solo and they pop patch 2 days before era closes.
Ok...i get it... The problem was not that i have to compete with seasonal players, but in 2 days time after patch rolls, so actually NS does NOT have LB at all.
Nothing can beat stupidity blizz... nothing... GG

No it's not. For example i play monk. In 3 seasons we will have 3 builds with the 3rd one being the strongest. So, why compete with first 2, since the 3rd will place me in the leaderboards after all?
No one cares about haters like you. Our "completely empty" leaderboards are from people with jobs, lives and other interests, who don't have the time to farm everything from the begining. You can't force seasons on everyone.
