Am I the only one that thinks hirelings like in D2 is a bad idea for D3?
From what we've seen in the gameplay videos, when you get 4 players on a screen, there's a lot of shit going on. Adding mercs to the mess seems like too much.
Also, I never liked the mercs in D2 anyway... they were inanimate NPCs that didn't know how to not die, so I never got one past Act 1.
totally agree
i was one of those who wanted 8 players like d2, but its really too much information with jst 4
like more the idea of "weak" followers that add lore and a little help with solo play - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

this system goes well at a mmorpg cause theres a LOT of little quests.. but what do we have at a hack'n'slash game?
monsters
so maybe they can put at the game a system where u get reputation from killing a lot of monsters.. and u have an ui that shows all numbers bout monsters killed
bout that ui.. they can even show status bout pvp.. but this is other thread

lol, coming from blizzard, i can imagine that

its not impossible to make more than one way to get rich at a game, and blizz stated that they'r going this way to improve replayability
u can say that ppl will find the best way.. even if its jst a little better
ok, but blizz can do a simple thing.. what made me do andy and not meph sometimes was the good chance 2 drop soj.. if u got the idea, its changing the grind zones by making more places worth the kill and also making gold worth something with better goldsinks then gamble (d2)

i jst cant see the barb with a shield and i know the shield skill that he has..
a guy that uses a fast sword and a shield with one tree, bow at other and one more tree for passives and such, its a balanced and ranged char
this is the last class for me

now if we'r going to see the wizard home it have 2 be at xiansai island

actually what blizz can do is for example like d2 if u have a wwbarb/classic, u can choose the 2h mace for power or 2h spear for range
thats a perfect example of a good balance

why make the max at 4.. so ppl cant even see all classes together

Jay Wilson: Well, our story tends to focus a lot more on the two major demons and the impending invasion of Sanctuary. So the character classes tend to follow those events and not so much their homelands. I think the only character who actually goes through their homeland is, I believe, the wizard, Leonard [Boyarsky] knows more about this than me, sometimes I get this wrong. But I'm pretty sure it's the wizard. The monk's land we're not going to, but there are likely to be other monk characters and details about the religious group and the culture that he comes from."
wizard go home? so now we know that one act can be at xiansai island
