posted a message on Grim Dawn after release?

You think a game using Titan's Quest engine and following Titan's Quest character progression system, and based on Titan Quest in general resembles Titan Quest more than it resembles Diablo 3? Interesting opinion! :)

It definately doesn't have "fancier looks" than Diablo 3. I mean...it looks like Titan Quest... Just slightly improved. What makes it stand out is all of the improvements added on top of the basic idea of the previously mentioned game. Grim Dawn is far more complex than it meets the eye at the beginning. Some fairly original ideas like items granting actual active abilities, among the more interesting ones. For a "mostly" single player oriented game it offers a lot of replayability which most games like that do not.

If i could compare it to something it would be a mix of Titan Quest (duh!) and Dungeon Siege 2, which is still one of my favourite hack & slash games out there. Before someone mentions it, Dungeon Siege 3 is just a joke that ruined the "legacy" of the series and is to DS series what Sacred 3 is to Sacred series.

But that said, people behind Grim Dawn definately deserve some heavy props for their product. I hope they will continue to release similiar games in the future, cuz they are damn good at it.

Boosted loads of ppl this season, without any issues, stay at the entrance, tp on me when i change the zones, rather easy and safe 99% of the time. I should have some time tommorow so let me know if u still need a boost then.

I'm finally back to my old main, DH, after a few seasons of not playing it.
I'm definitely enjoying playing UE more than Marauders, since the gameplay is much smoother.
You can use Vault a lot more, and do certain tricks while vaulting and be very mobile.

I can clear GR70s fairly easy as well, at least without ever failing to the timer, and I don't enjoy pushing GRs anyway, so UE is perfect for me.

    Edit:
I CAN'T get an ancient UE chest with dex, vit, all res and discipline...
I must have spent 80.000+ shards gambling for it :(

That's exacly what i spend my bloodshards on right now :)

As for using vault, it got me in trouble waaaaay too many times while on hc. It is definately better for mobility, but Smoke Screen is awesome when it comes to "soaking" dmg (especially vs reflect dmg) or reacting to danger. It is not a popular choice, however i prefer it. But that's just from my own experience and style of playing.

Well ever since the multishot build appeared i was a big fan of it, sadly it does require quite a lot of specific rolls, and it is far easier to gear towards some of the other builds. The discipline requirement limits the stat choice a bit when it comes to certain items. I do however really like the possible synergies that appear with Ambush and Dead Man's Legacy. Overall i'd love to see more of those on various other pieces of equipment.

As for not playing hardcore, i can understand that, i switch between sc and hc every season depending on how many of my friends play on each side :)

Hey, with the overwhelming popularity of the sentry build these days, i wanted to promote multishot based UE build as something more than just starting/T10 specc. It's still a lot of fun, while capable of reaching top ranks on the leaderboards.

Here's my GR 70 solo run on my DH hc: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuIBPabDh2Q
    Build: http://www.d3planner.com/480737881

If you are playing on EU and need any help with progression or just a boost to 70, let me know at k4b00m#2444.

    Enjoy! :)

posted a message on Super Human Conquest

Hey guys, since quite a few people asked me how to do a GR 45 with no set items on a DH, here's how i did it.

    GR 45 run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dK8nLzwa9eY

    Build: http://www.d3planner.com/635425596

Yang's Recurve Bow + Dead Man's Legacy Quiver is more or less what you need to run the build i used. Multishot (Arsenal) gets further boosted by Cindercoat, Stone of Jordan and Magefist. I also had a well rolled Hellfire Amulet. Rest is pretty much random.

I'm happy to help anyone in Season Journey progression, i'm on HC EU, add k4b00m#2444. Cheers!

    @ Rotterdam
Blizzard mentioned doing some fixes to the lag concerning WD's but it is not gone sadly. I tried to run a 61 solo on my WD yday and i just gave up after first few deaths. Lag is still bad enough to freeze your screen for few seconds if you pull a big enough group. And if you won't pull big groups you won't finish the grift...

Anyway, there is a problem and we should keep our hopes up, however it is very unlike Blizzard to have that problem for so long. And it is gamebreaking for certain classes. That's why i feel a lot of people are so mad.

I agree it's not the place for Blizzard related problems and that this thread might be negative, but the dude speaks truth to some degree.

    @Rotterdam
High density grifts always lag. Witch Doctors ALWAYS lag, even in solo grifts, even when the density isn't huge. Using certain items/gems always causes lag too, because of the additional calculations they cause.

Saying that you never lag in D3 is just silly. Blaming people's computers or internet speed is getting old too. In my country you can't even get an internet connection that's not good enough for gaming, unless you want to play them on a phone through your grandma's wifi.
You must be a very casual player to say so, who farms in the campaign mode or something. OR you have no idea about how servers work, and how the internet is functioning. I assume it might be all of these things put together.

    @Justice_One
At no point i am bashing NS. I even said that playing NS is still solid and to some degree fun, and you even quoted me on that, so get your s**t together.
I replied to a guy saying that Seasons took over the game completely and he cannot find a group. The FACT is that most people play Season, and i don't need statistics for that. That's just common knowledge. Go ahead and look if you can join any groups being on the most popular communities as a NS player. Sad news, you will have to wait a whole lot more than a Seasonal player. And if you strongly disagree with me, and tell me to prove my point with statistics, i expect you to prove me wrong with yours.

And what about me "speaking for the community" ? I refer to things i have observed and i did put enough time into the game to be objective. If i see everyone on my friends list, everyone in the communities (with minor exceptions here and there) i am in, and well over 90% of any clan i have ever been in, playing Season, i think it's safe to say that it's quite popular and community enjoys it more than NS. Because why else would they start from the start? Just to get those few extra items and then quit? I strongly doubt that.

Yeah but people play Season cuz they don't like non-Season. So...you wouldn't find a group anyway... The existance of Seasons is not to blame here, it's just everybody's individual preference

The fact that the number of non-season players drastically dropped when seasons started shows you're wrong.. It's not like none of the season players would not play non season if it was the only option.

Eum, what? you might want to rephrase your first sentence because it doesn't make much sense to me atm.

The truth of the matter is that even IF some percentage of people would still play Diablo 3 if seasons weren't introduced (and i am not disputing that, because D3 even NS is still a solid game) it doesn't change the fact that they are clearly more happy playing Season.

I bet that you would see far more negative threads if seasons were removed, than the handful opting for their removal.

Funny thing is that if you don't like seasons, you are not affected by them at all..

Except for the fact that it's near impossible to get groups going in non-season which has less active players than Zork the underground empire.
Yeah but people play Season cuz they don't like non-Season. So...you wouldn't find a group anyway... The existance of Seasons is not to blame here, it's just everybody's individual preference. For me non-Seasonal is pretty much like single player in Diablo 2. It's ok and fun for a while, but it's not for me for the long run. Seems like it's not for the majority of D3 players either.

Saying there shouldn't be seasons because you don't like it is like taking everybody's toys on the playground. Not everything spins around several individuals. Vast majority of the community channels don't even have "Season" specified because it is naturally assumed they are so. All you can do on NS is pretty much farm paragons, and no matter what day of the month you log in, guess what, you will go farm paragons... And while it is inevitable for Seasonal players too, it's far less grindy, at least for a certain period of time.

Funny thing is that if you don't like seasons, you are not affected by them at all... Not sure what the problem is. Noone is getting forced to play seasons, and the amount of new items in them is usually not that significant. And if you don't like to start over and you are not bored of grinding the same content with the same class for months, then you shouldn't be affected by those few extra drops that you cannot get, since the game in it's Non-Seasonal state is so entertaining for ya...

Also saying that seasons are just for casuals to feel competetive with pro players is a joke. I mean it's mostly casuals who don't have enough time for gaming, that enjoy non season the most. Cuz it let's them accumulate the gear they need over time, no rush, no stress.

Also the fact that majority of clans is Seasonal, only further proves that a lot of the D3 community likes starting from the scratch.

Lastly, i don't know about you guys but for me D3 was always most interesting at the start, when every item is an upgrade. When you get significantly stronger having replaced a yellow item or a bland legendary one with a set piece etc. Pushing leaderboards can be cool but after a while it gets dull and the fun fades away. Usually about that time i make a break, do other things, play other games and wait for the new season to start. When it does, i usually already miss the game enough to have fun again. That's why seasons are a good thing, and imo the game overall is heading in the right direction, even despite its many flaws.

posted a message on Why should I play?

D3 is currently the best "hack & slash" game out there when it comes down to graphics and general "feel" of the game. What i mean by this is that even there are ppl who enjoy more complex titles like PoE etc., D3 brings Blizzards skills to the surface. Certain builds in D3 give you an immense pleasure of destroying hordes of enemies, because the way the combat feels like.
Furthermore, you actually can enjoy some features from WoW, like transmog, making your character look badass etc.
Collecting loot, with amazing rolls on the most desired stats can take a WHILE, then you also want that loot to be ancient, which prolongs the hunt.
If you are into rankings and pushing the endgame, D3 offers that aswell.
New patch adds various features that let you have even more fun with designing your character to your needs, because the passive effects you can add via the Cube.
The game has come a long way from the story mode farm, for the better ofcourse.

But overall yeah from a casual point of view it's simply a nice way to let some steam off and have fun while doing so. Hope you will enjoy it, cheers! :)
