Yea, I'm a bit bummed. I was going to go do stuff until the D3 panel started, but now I'm F5 spamming every Blizz news site

There are several things you can do with a luck stat. Think on Morrowind/Oblivion, it has a small impact on every action, but not so much that you'd want to go out of your way to boost the crap out it. Blizz may have pulled a play out of Bethesda's book and made luck have small impacts on hit, damage, defense etc. But I doubt that, it probably is something along the lines of gold find / MF

Yea it looks fine to me. Just about time to start slaving away at these things.
Thanks for the info on the images. I'm now a proud owner of a few folders full of a few dozen split gifs of skill icons lol. Skill tabs look like they have to be SS'd though, the gif stores it in pieces, and is obviously without the skill icons. No biggie.
I'd say good to go with what you've created.

One thing you can't let out of your sight, is that Laissez Faire capitalism is nearly on par with pure socialism with liability for abuse. Where socialistic programs are abused by 'the common man', large businesses are the abusers of capitalism. Some things just need a little bit of government oversight to keep the abuses from happening. In my opinion it is much easier to police a capitalist system, but you also run into the issue of corruption, where businesses have enough capital to "buy off" oversight and commit abuses. However, as you mentioned, there is also a tight line between oversight, and controlling for personal gain.
My favorite example, is the Airline Industry. Everyone knows it is pretty heavily regulated, and for the most part, reasonably safe. What if it was completely laissez faire, governed only by the competition of the business? My money is that we would see many instances of "Ford Pinto Airplanes" with human life sacrificed for bottom lines.
On the insurance issue, competition - the heart of the idea for capitalism - may actually be detrimental to insurance companies. Insurance is a business model based off of probability, they have an average payout figgure that is likely measured over the term of the policy, and what you pay into your insurance plan has to beat that average. If this were not the case, and the average customer payed less than what they receive, the insurance company would collapse or need bankrolling from an external source. Why competition may be bad, is that if there are too many companies the populace gets split into smaller subsets and each subset has a fixed overhead cost, and smaller sample sizes have a greater risk of abnormal performance. Meaning that smaller insurance companies have a greater risk of getting a lot of high cost claims at once, and going under. This would lead to a natural increase in rates, or high fairlure rate of insurance companies.
Now i'm not sure how many health insurance companies there are in America, or if any of their sample sizes are approaching what could be called dangerously low levels. But I do know that a single insurance company or government agency is going to have a much lower overhead cost than many small companies and is going to have a much more stable capital in/out function, leading to some combination of lower costs to all, increased coverage for poor, or both. I just don't think our government has the power to do this, so it is sort of an idle dream
I also have a problem with health insurance as a for-profit business. They do absolutely nothing to increase the quality of care received, but increase the cost. They exist solely as a middle man, who distributes the cost of care over a policy's lifetime. I understand that this business model is employed successfully in many different areas, but I just get touchy when it is used on Healthcare. I think that quality Healthcare should be made as affordable as possible to as many people as possible, and taking out the middle man is one way to begin lowering the costs. There are of course innumerable other things that can be done to lower the costs, and insurance changes are just one among many.

All you would really have to do is invert the rows & columns inside your template. It would look something like:
!- Level || Damage || Mana
|- 1 || dmg1 || m1
|- 2 || dmg2 || m2
You can take the variables sequentially from the user so it is easier to put them in, but then just line them up like that in your output. I think you'd have to do formatting on each 'level' cell if you wanted to change the font size or something for emphasis.
For the skills trees though, I really like what you've done and don't think it merits an overhaul at this point
On images, how are you guys getting the skill icon & tab files? Are you pulling them out of the game files? If so is there a naming convention for them? I have an MPQ viewier/extractor, but uh, some of Blizz's naming conventions are a bit hard to fiigure out (unless i'm looking in the wrong place)

Ugh, sorcerer would be a pain in that group. I guess he can just use charged staves for most of his spells, but you're probably better off giving the mana pots to the warrior to use as fuel for the self heal spell.
If i'm going to ironman it on multiplayer, just go with all rogues and 1 warrior. Pray you can get enough bows to fuel all the rogues, and that they don't plink your warrior too much

It can still be useful for duels or for fighting uber bosses. Players and these bosses can still land hits for thousands of damage that go past your basic 75-80 resistance. (Meaning their base damage is around 8000 if you get hit for 2000 and have 75% resistance). The percentage based absorb is what you want for this, the fixed value just isn't going to cut i.
Just remember that the absorb first stops damage, THEN heals. So if a hit reduces your life to 0 or below before the heal, you're still dead

I'm still playing this season. I'll add your account and see if you're on when I am. Current season acct is rousse.
I'd like to try some group ubers. I do them with a frenzy barb, but it feels cheap killing meph first then the other two. I'm too chicken to risk an orgset pulling all 3 at once though Plus I think the game would die, with all the adds running around and my stupid torch proc going off every second or two.

I've had kids I've tutored try to pull stuff like this on me. Its normally really funny, but takes a bit of planning to get it right. Love the video though, classic stuff. I love old comedy. Three Stooges is like my favorite comedy group ever.

Your link has a paren missing from the end of the URL. But that page looks sweet, that will definitely work. That is just a "how it looks" page right? Are you going to make a template with variables to fill in, or should we just copy the template and fill it in as needed?
I think I have an idea how to do a vertical table with variables, but there really is no point, I think this way looks fine.
Side notes: did you change the formatting for sections? I don't recall having a horizontal line accompany each section before, but I could be wrong.
Is there a method for searching the uploaded file list that works better than the default? I've just been been looking at the list in 500 file segments and using browser-find lol.

I'd imagine that new players will probably take a similar zone progression that they do now, just with a few new dungeons and daily quests added.
The flying revamp is the real big thing about this. Recall that old azeroth is incompatible with flying, due to cities being paper cut-outs from the outside, and that there are numerous unimplemented zones. I'd think that this is going to take a good bit of work to complete.

If anyone is a heavy Copy-Paster like me, I reccomend Xneat clipboard manager if you're running xp. Lets you retain up to like 5 text copies at a time, and select between them. I don't know if thats standard in Vista or newer. And no, my tyreal is just your average pic, no motion. Too lazy to rig that crap up
Note the Clock time. I think its time I go to bed...

If i'm playing through the game with some friends, I don't want to follow them and watch them kill everything while I sit and uselessly white attack everything because I'm playing a wind druid before level 24. That is a separate issue, that some builds are utterly useless before lvl 24/30 but it ties into respecs because the build issue is unlikely to be fixed, and is much easier to bypass by adding respecs.
I doubt they would put the effort into a patch if they didn't make some effort with it to lower the prevalancy of bots and dupes. How effective they'll be is yet to be seen, and you're right that it probably won't work well or for long. But to say that respecs will encourage more botting? If you're going to set up a bot, you're going to do it whether respecs are in the game or not. Respecs may lower the number of bots running for all we know, because people only have to level 1 of each class instead of 2 or more.
Also, there is nothing stopping people from botting non-hdin characters to 99 right now. You simply need to have the bot follow another bot doing baal runs. It may take longer, but it is definately doable. It pretty much makes any character over 95 suspect of botting, because who in their right mind is going to put that much manual time into a game this old? Some may, but a great many of them probably are botted. Also, all of our chacters are tainted by bots and dupes, since almost everyone follows botted baal runs and the odds are overwhelmingly in favor of every HR you trade for is a dupe.
Respecs - if done right - will keep me from leveling 2-3 copies of some classes each season to test different builds and playstyles. I welcome them. If people bot a cold sorc up to 99 then switch it to fire, it has almost no impact. They could have done nearly the exact same thing today, only following another bot instead of killing everything themselves.

You have conflicting arguments here. The second paragraph is a pointed and powerful argument FOR respecing. Leveling some builds absolutely sucks, all experienced players know this. Adding respecs enables people to more easily play the game the way it was meant to be played, without relying on grushes or power leveling to make the character they want.
Adding respecs without fixing grush, uber leveling and bots is perhaps not the best idea as good players will find a way to exploit it with whatever class/spec makes it into 1.13 as overpowered. However, if they do manage to curtail bots and stop grushing, respecing would make playing the game through a lot more fun as you wouldn't have to suffer through being useless until your skills & gear become available by level.
