I don't see why there can't be options for simple, completely voluntary PvP in normal games? What if me and my friend just want to test each others out in a game?
No LAN, too. They want to control and monitor your competitive online gaming, and they want to put every game into the 'e-sports' mold, with a casual angle too. Ready for 'bejewelediablo'? Don't worry, you'll get plenty of facebook spam about it when it arrives.
I believed that too, but Jay said quite specifically that they have absolutely no intention or care to make D3 a e-sport game, that "SC2 got that covered" and D3 is a PvE game, etc...
So no, I don't think thats D3's fate. It better not be.

But by the time me and my friends play (at normal hours, we're not playing in the night we're waiting tommorow, the game only opens at 3 AM so..) it should be fine.

They just don't want you to switch like that and what you to use THEIR system no matter what you like or are used to, even if they very easily could.

It means they have nothing special despite their name, and considering the horribly boring list of Affix if there are no legendary only affix that are any special then my god, will itemization in this game be bad.

It removed all the more intriguing stuff from Diablo 2 and adds nothing.
It has a LOT less than D2, its ridiculous. This is not a complete list, tell me its not?

If I was Blizzard, I would at least support custom 8 players games. The only excuse for 4 players is it works better, which is fun for random games, since random games will almost always be played at the highest amount of player, thats just how it is.
But thats it.
Beyond that, its just Blizzard telling you what you can't do for little to no reason and not giving you other options. Because, you know, they're actually bad developers.

Basically means to me, that there is no pleasure in learning. This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. It basically nullifies skills and improvement in a single sentence.
Yes, thats out of context of his post, but I don't care. I don't really care for Blizzard's stupid gaming philosophies.

You're totally right. I played a free to play MMO back around 2002. There was open world PvP and you dropped gear. You could steal from people trading because they had to drop stuff on the ground.
Yet I've never had a more engaging MMO experience with RP-ing folks and respecting people. Were there jerks, sure, a few of them.
But compared to today? Hah. The MMO communities of today have absolutely -nothing- in common with the old days.
Kids and immaturity has invaded the internet over the years and now... well... you have this. I'm not blaming kids here, there are pleasant and respectful kids to play with. But nerdy kids was all we had back then and they were more respectful. Now, bullies, assholes and all their neighbor think its all "cool". Not good.
I'm talking about MMOs but its quite similar in a lot of other games, though MMOs were hit the worst.
Thats ridiculously true. And we're only in our very early 20.
Take me back 10 years. That little school had bullies sure, and we're in a very remote place, not in a big city. It was NOTHING like it is today.
Jesus christ the way girls are dressed at 10, and the things you can hear coming from those mouths, especially the boys...
I'm ashamed, frankly. I'd be genuinely scared to have children and send them there. What is happening to the children, I ask you.
But then there are parents retarded enough to put a computer with internet in the room of a 10 year old child.
Sometimes I just hope its me growing up and noticing these things, and that they didn't just get worse. Sadly, my mother agrees with me. Things -are- getting worse...

I might have missed something, though.
