I've played +250 hours, and I still play pretty often.
However... I can't stand the "end game". It's so tedious and aggravating <_<
I feel like all of my level 60 characters spend more money on repairs than they gain from all of the crappy drops,
and I rarely ever die! (I'm farming act 2 inferno, progressing through act 3 slowly)

I've just been making new characters on Hardcore, to keep myself entertained.

So, unfortunately Blizzard can't normalize the difficulty for every individual where they don't feel its too easy but difficult enough for it to be satisfying when you do beat it. Also since 2 weeks ago, tanking doesn't cost you anything if u're not dying. They removed durability the retarded durability lost in tanking.

This poster is the prototypical hater I've seen, they haven't beaten the game, they also spent alot of time on it, yes 200+ hours in 2 months is a lot, considering 160 hours is a full time job per month and they are still bad at the game.

Well that happens we can't satisfy everyone, make it too easy everyone finishes and people complain its too hard, make it hard, people complain its too hard, and no matter how hard you make it, there would be those pro gamers that will still destroy all the content.

As for people that say there aren't many viable builds, well they just haven't looked. There are many different builds that works best for each boss, whether u're soloing or group play. Different acts works best with different builds, different difficulty level as well, what works in Hell might not work in Inferno, etc.

People also forget that not only do they need to be good actually physically playing the game, if you're not spending your gold wisely and wisely putting things up in AH, you're not maximizing the game. Sure there are people that don't like this aspect, but its part of the game, part of what you signed up for.

Excuse me, but how am I a hater? I still enjoy the game greatly. I'm just saying the endgame is a flop... I'm sorry that I want the fun to continue after I have completed a game. Thank god they fixed repairs because it broke the end game entirely for me, and I hadn't attempted to play my main characters for a while. I have now completed inferno.

My biggest problem with the game right now is that Blizzard is doing a really great job at punishing everyone for the actions of a few... I don't manipulate the AH, or use the RMAH, or switch to 400 magic find gear before a kill, or abuse any game systems; I just play the game. But because of that I always feel like I'm getting the "short end of the stick," particularly in inferno. I feel like many other players can relate to that as well.

It's a problem when I have more fun making new characters than playing my main characters; and it's because farming on a lvl 60, for the average player, feels like a total waste of time. I would rather feel like I'm actually GOING SOMEWHERE when I'm playing (and grab some items and gold on the side).

I don't know how they could make the end-game more appealing, but it definitely isn't doing it for me as it is right now.

posted a message on [small spoilers] Tyrael vs. Imperius! I made a .gif of it!
Well... In the book of cain it is stated that valor will turn to wrath, which I believe means Imperius turns evil or maybe partners up with Diablo to destroy what he believes is "the greater of two evils" (the sinful offspring of angel and demon) and is then obviously betrayed by Diablo. Also, with the angel of valor gone, I suppose it could be possible that Tyrael would take his place? And since solarion is forged from light basically, it could take on a slightly different shape in different hands...

posted a message on What are your thoughts on the beta?
I have been waiting roughly ten years for Diablo 3... Diablo (The Original) was the first rated M game I ever got my hands on, and ever since I made my warrior I have been hooked on the Diablo series. I was really concerned that my expectations would be way too high, but when I played open beta weekend it completely relieved me of any of my doubts.

I see a lot of people complaining about the story being too linear in beta, but it is built that way to guide players so they can learn how to play the game. And in all honesty, I played through beta at least 5 times over the weekend and each time I ran into at least one thing that I never saw before (side quests, random monster events, trapped chests, etc). If this is supposed to be the most linear part of the game, I am so excited to get my hands on the full version.

When it comes to visuals, at first I was concerned that the art style they were taking looked too cartoony (like many others). But the more I played, the more I thought to myself "this is exactly how the next Diablo game should look". It is so easy to read what is on the screen and I love what they did with the cathedral. Not to mention the level design and randomization is amazing!

The most important part, gameplay, was nothing short of spectacular. The fact that every skill is viable and situation based, means that we can choose skills based on how we want to play, not on "well this one is the most powerful... so I obviously have to use it". Though there weren't many skills to choose from in beta, I still had a hard time deciding on which ones I wanted to use. Every spell/attack I used on each of my characters made me feel more powerful than I ever did in the previous games. Though at first I was disappointed that only four people can be in one game, I now understand why they had to do it... It's the trade off for giving skills amazing visuals; there is just too much going on the screen when there are multiple people.

If there is one thing I wish they would change, it would be the predetermined rune unlocks. I think that if there is a rune effect on one of my skills that truly fits how I want to play, I shouldn't have to wait until level 'x' to do it.

Overall, what I experienced in beta was everything I could've asked for and more. I can't wait until May 15th

Don't mean to offend but I didn't know people actually played games to escape real life. I figured it was just something psychiatrists/media made up. I play games with my friends because they are fun and relaxing, not to escape real life.

There will always be jerks as Scyber said, especially since you are anonymous online :). Just ignore the jerks/bullies and keep playing your games. You don't have to care what they do.

That fact that you relax when you play them is an expression of your own experience with escapism, same as with books. When people can focus on a game/book world, they take thier mind off of other irl issues and relax. And I agree that online communities used to be different. Not quite the utopia the OP is talking about, but definitely a friendlier place in general. It becomes a lot harder to just relax and 'escape' when you have to weigh how much bs you're going to have deal with or argue about when you go to play a game or discuss a game or any thing like that.

You have a good point. But I'm still not sure I like the idea of 'escaping', perhaps escape boredom. If I'm on skype playing with my friends, talking about irl stuff, is it still escaping irl? ;)

I should clarify, I don't use videogames to escape the same things I did as a child.
When I was younger, it was more about escaping bullies and avoiding judgemental classmates.
Today, I still use videogames as an escape from the stresses of school, work, relationship problems, etc.

It is more difficult to relax on an online videogame however when people are constantly t-bagging your dead body and trolling you.

I welcome anybody who enjoys playing games.

Jerks exist anywhere and everywhere, the target group doesn't change that

I totally agree with you, but am I wrong in thinking that online communities are more hostile today because it's now socially acceptable for anyone to play videogames?

I probably shouldn't have specified "jocks" because they should not be associated with jerks and bullies. It was a generalization on my part from my personal experiences.

posted a message on I Miss When Videogames Were Just For "Nerds"
I miss the days when videogames were just for "nerds",
and I was wondering if anyone else feels the same way.

    To be more specific:
I hate how online communities are filled with jerks now.

When I was a child I played many online games (SWG PreCU was my favorite) to escape from the jocks, bullies, and jerks in real life. The online communities were always so nice; people were always willing to give you a hand when you needed it, and the majority of people were so polite. I rarely ever ran into someone trying to screw me over. It was my dream world, where almost everyone got along... Maybe it's because us "nerds" all wanted the same thing: Somewhere we could fit in, without being judged or attacked by another person.

As the years have passed and videogames have become a more casual thing, I feel like videogames are no longer an escape for me. Don't get me wrong, I still love videogames, and they are my favorite passtime. However, The jerks that judged and mistreated me when I was younger, now play videogames almost as much as I do because now it's socially acceptable. I feel like I need to isolate myself when I play online games (unless I'm with my friends) because now people are just as horrible to eachother online, if not worse, than in real life.

    Maybe I'm wrong.
Perhaps I was just niave as a child or I was just lucky.
There could be another reason for this change, if there really was one.
Maybe it's because games are more competitive than cooperative today.

Anyways, I want to hear what you guys have to say about it

posted a message on Should Diablo be made into a MMO
I feel like a Diablo MMO is very possible. Especially if you were to place it during the sin wars.

I mean, there are factions (Cathedral of Light, The Triune, and The Edyrem), you have multiple worlds to explore (Sanctuary, Burning Hells, High Heavens), a lot of things going on for plot.

It's all there. I can totally see it being possible. But it couldn't just be your traditional MMO. They would need to still have the diablo gameplay-feel to sell it. No 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0, smash your head on the keyboard and win nonsense...

It would be nice if at a million likes we got more gameplay footage or another cinematic trailer, rather than just another screenshot or art concept. Regardless It's supposed to be along the lines of something visual so... fingers crossed =)
