I lost my monk the same way as you OP. Sweeping wind didn't actually help since I couldn't kill them fast enough. I was also tired and panicking and didn't think to thunderclap my way out of them. In hindsight, that would've worked.

Yet each time do you get the impression on the forums that the majority is complaining, so I either do mainly people who want to complain post or are the same people complaining about x who where before complaining about lack of x.
Of course the majority of posts are complaints. People are more inclined to bitch and moan about what they don't like than to praise Blizz when they do like something.

Diablo III - Reaper of Souls: Complete List of Set Bonuses!, Reaper of Souls Blue Post Roundup: Lots of information!posted a message onPosted in: News & AnnouncementsCurrently, we have MP0-10... It is already super spread out and hard to find a group for things,ESPECIALLY on hardcore mode.
Now with RoS, we have different game modes and pretty much the same amount of difficulty modes.
I really worry RoS will suffer the same multiplayer issues the current version has. We need to be able to queue up for multiple difficulties.
A valid concern that I also feel worried about.
It's true that Reaper of Souls will have a Campaign and Adventure Mode (you can read a bit more about Adventure Mode here), but you should still see a healthy pool of multiplayer games. We anticipate a lot of players will spend most of their farming time in Adventure Mode, which is typically when/where players will want to group up,
So essentially, the already tiny population of public players will further diminish slightly by splitting the game into campaign and adventure mode.
and you'll be able to join a clan or community for even more social options.
even more (private game) social options.
To answer your question specifically, though, there are nine different difficulty levels (Normal, Hard, Expert, Master [unlocks at level 60], and Tormet I-V [unlocks at level 70]) and currently you’ll only be able to select one difficulty whenever queuing for Public Games. This is because, right now, there’s a pretty significant difficulty jump between each setting.
I'm currently playing Path of Exile and even though I've completed cruel (equivalent to nightmare in d2), since my gear still isn't good enough, I'm totally fine with farming more in cruel before moving onto merciless (hell in d2).
Now everyone is entitled to be able to play through normal to inferno in 1 run without any backtracking to farm. Just play on any of the 10 difficulty settings that you feel comfortable with which begins at super fucking easy.
We’ll definitely keep an eye on things, and if finding games becomes a problem then we’ll be sure to communicate that to the developers
Finding games is ALREADY a problem. Thank you so much for the console matchmaking system we were given.

Posted in: News & AnnouncementsQuote from Zeyk23Yeah, PL800 is effectively the level cap. Everything beyond that is just a token increase in primary stat, and +5 per level is not that big a deal compared to the +800 or whatever you can find on an item in RoS.
+5 per level for 1200 levels is 6000 though.
I'm glad that you're all excited for these extra paragon levels, but it just ruins it for me knowing that Blizzard is going to create bind on account items to hinder bot selling, but then have all these stat boosting paragon levels which gives an incentive for bots to exist.
I just preferred the way D2 had it and which PoE has right now.

Transmogrification No Longer Binds items, "Stay Awhile and Listen" Review, Community Commentary: To Live is to Dieposted a message onelvy makes a good point though. Sure, we'd get more appearance variability solely with loot 2.0 than we have now, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the item that you've set your eyes on will also look good. Transmog fixes that problem.Posted in: News & Announcements

Are you really playing 4 accounts though? The way I see it, you're playing 1 account, and software is duplicating your key strokes in 3 other clients, so essentially, you're playing 1 account and the software is playing the 3 other accounts.
Have you ever tried macroing? It is anything but easy to consider and account for all the possible variations in the environment, monsters, your life, spells, positioning, mouse movements, lag, item drops, etc. etc.
Macroing is for the pros, just my 2 cents.
Exactly why it's against the spirit* of the game.
* = would be replaced for 'rules' if Blizzard weren't greedy hypocrites.

Datamining: Stat Caps Removed, and More; BlizzCon Store Online Sale Now Open, Blue Posts, Remember When...?posted a message onPosted in: News & AnnouncementsQuote from Zeyk23Quote from PuttahNotice it says "torment difficulty or higher" so I'd hazard a guess that the monster power numbered levels will be replaced for fewer and more meaningful difficulty levels.
Keep in mind what those achievements used to be:
- Kill the Butcher without being burned by floor fires or being grabbed by Ancient Spear on Hell difficulty or higher.
- Kill the Butcher in under 2 minutes on Inferno difficulty.
- Kill the Butcher while he is stunned by his own charge attack on Nightmare difficulty or higher.
It sounds like this is a new proper difficulty mode. They've talked about getting rid of Hell before - my guess is they're revamping the difficulty progression to be Normal -> Torment -> Inferno, and the renaming is to prevent confusion since all the level requirements are changing.
That's a good point you make. I've always wanted the number of difficulty levels to be cut back down to 3, but I just gave up hope on that dream.

Posted in: Diablo III General DiscussionQuote from Ashy_Larrymy concern is the account space.... if only 1 or two more spaces open up because of the crusader, this would kinda suck for those who have at least 5-7 characters... unless you delete your old ladder character, after the exp has been pooled, and you strip the items off...
It was a problem right from the start. Blizzard promised (if I can remember correctly) that we would certainly have more than 20 character slots at release, but probably less than 50. Then we ended up having 10 which was the bare minimum if you wanted to have 1 of each char in both SC and HC. There was no wiggle room, but it didn't turn out to be as big of a deal as it was made out to be because there is no point in levelling any new characters except for maybe playing with a friend that's just joined.
But anyway, now with ladder, it doesn't seem like we'll have the bare minimum slots required to have each type of character in every possible game mode. sc + hc + ladder sc + ladder hc = 24 different characters, which I don't see happening.
