I never thought about running 6ik//2ww that way.

hey milonz, Tried something different with the suggestion you made from your earlier post. I switched out the skills for battle rage ( swords to ploughshare and blood funnel to dust devils). Realized i was too squishy and swaped out the rune for Wrath of the zerker to Striding Giant Which gives you a 50% damage reduction. Just did a 62 in 11:32

    Hi,

i have the same type of Build, here
    http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/MilonZ-2641/hero/68204322

Your stuff seems pretty cool, there's no mistake in your rerolling.
Maybe reroll vitality for %15 whirlwind on your helmet, if you feel you can survive.

I'd go for some more CHC, CHD, more resists, the usual.
I try to remplace all my stuff with items which provide me elemental resists.
Physical and lightning if i can :
the lightning spells are instagib in higher grifts, you get oneshot.
They are difficult to avoid ("electrified" if you are engaged in a pack, "thunderstorm" if you are at range), and they do massive INSTANT damage you can't avoid.
Plagued, molten, desecrator and frozen can be a pain too, but i think they are more progressive, and you can disengage before they kill you.
And you can avoid arcane, even if this is difficult.
So my personal preference goes to physical and lightning resists.

In my experience, you should change "veteran's warning" and "blood funnel" for "battle rage/swords to ploughshares" and "dust devils".
Blood funnel gives you limited healing (9K HP in your case, 1% of your life, per crit), and veteran's warning gives some dodge.
Swords to ploughshares heals you better (roughly 21K HP, per crit), and gives you a tiny dps boost.
Moreover, if i'm not mistaken, dust devils can also crit, thus triggering your healing, even when you're not directly engaged in a pack. And it gives you some additionnal dps.
I think in this case, there's a real synergy between battle rage and whirlwind.

The best way to find out is to try the 2 builds in a very difficult grift, and compare your survivability ;-)

The 20% physical damage is a real dps boost, because it is applied over you raw damage.
I can't update your Diablo Progress profile, so i'll take mine (our builds and items are very similar) :
100 strengh give me 16.246 raw damage, so the 894 strength on your amulet would give me 174.287 elemental dps (i already have 20% physical on my bracers).
My raw dps is 1.311.730. 20% physical damage would give me instead 262.346 additionnal dps (20% of my raw dps). Which is 50% more than the dps given by a good amulet with strength.
I suggest you update your profile on Diablo Progress, so you can do more precise calculations, based on your exact stuff, but i expect 20% physical damage will give you way more dps than your strength =)

The thing is a hellfire amulet always comes with strength.
So you MUST roll a hellfire with excellent CHC, CHD, a socket AND a interesting passive; so you can reroll the strength to elemental damage.
On our similar build, i have a 20% physical, 87% CHD, 10% CHC, a socket and ruthless.
And my Hota has 20% fire, 100% CHD, 10% CHC, a socket and "nerves of steel". Not the best passive in my opinion (i prefer brawler), but this passive is present in every popular build.
So i consider myself very lucky =))
I had to craft roughly 60-70 hellfires to get those two.

    Cheers,

    MilonZ

i tried the changes in a 55 and had 8 mins and some change left over;however, grift 55 is pretty much farm-able for me. Then i went to a 60 to try and beat my previous best and the mobs obliterated me. Could be bad luck with mob types.. There where alot of electricity mobs and wallers lol.

if u want push higher grifts u need change to hota build.. my ww barb does around 7mil damage i cant do much effective over 55 really...

I have went through 1-800 on the leaderboard and selected a few at random. I have yet to see a hota barb.

Hota lacks mobility and the ability to survive compared to ww and or ik rend builds.

posted a message on Gems for Rend build

“The butcher is a great boss because you can stand in the pool of fire he puts down and it will feed you Fury. It's a problem for everyone, it's just one you have to manage. Don't forget that most of your damage is done by rend, your whirlwind is comparitively low damage filler.”- Bigbazz

“the key is I think is to WW just to keep proc the Taeguk,, and that's all...

good luck with the GR mate!” -Mottiba

just some info i gathered from scanning through the forums.

as far as gems.. i swapped out Pain enhancer out for BoT ( Bane of the trapped) when i ran a quick 50 and i got similar results as if i was running pain enhancer.

For fury throughout the rift try double tapping mobs with rend and moving on to finding the next mob. In my personal opinion and the way i have practiced with this build is that if you sit around and let them die on you're doing it wrong.
