So because they didn't tell you they were instabanning the guy, you assume they don't do anything? Blizzard's policy has always been not to discuss actions on accounts with other players.

Sounds like he defeated you in (mental) combat and upon your defeat you dropped shiny loots for him. Pretty sure that's what this game is about.

I do understand the animosity, but I do not understand the impatience.

I wold bet my mortgage that 2 years from now, Diablo 3 will be recognized by consensus as far better than D2. ....and I loved D2....absolutely loved it. I am glad that D3 set a foundation to make playability and combat actually challenging, as opposed to Diablo 2's

Yup. I already have more fun than I did in D2. Got my wizard set up as an archon paragon Alk farmer, and set my barb as a throwing keywarden/uber killer. Try the Act 2 keywarden on a throwing barb, damn near 1 shots you if you throw an axe at him while he's spinning, which is... like... all the time. Had to make specific builds for each boss. Nothing like that in D2, just mindless casting the same spells for 69 levels.

People sure are whiny about the games giving them 200+ hours for $50... or free if you do it right. Or you make $1000.

OMG Pindle/Baal runs were sooo much fun! And before that never-ending Meph runs were sooo much fun! /nostalgia

Are you serious? You can actually run the game in Inferno from start to finish and get pretty good incentives for doing it. Is it as efficient as endless A3 runs? No, but don't even pretend for a second that Blizzard is somehow forcing you to do what is most efficient, or forcing you to play A3 when they've done everything possible to say "hey, look, act 1!" Your gametime, your choice. Do what is fun.

D2 was very good for its time. I had a lot of fun playing it. D3 is better. I have more fun. The trick is to break it up. Just because paragon gives you something to do on one character doesn't mean you HAVE to do it. Go play hardcore until you lose a character in Inferno. Play a new softcore character if you don't have a 60 of each class yet (why don't you?). Try some achievements.

People just burned out too fast. This is why I'm glad I took it slow the first couple months, even if it potentially cost me hundreds if not thousands of dollars in ahead of the curve farming.

Scoundrel with Buriza w/ high chance to freeze (close to 15%), high pierce (75%+), Star of Azkaranth with close to 5.1% chance to freeze, two rings with 9% attack speed. Pretty easy to kill anything (and thus not die) when the whole screen is frozen.

posted a message on Scheduled Maintenance, Puzzle Ring - So Many Goblins, Build Diversity & Skill hotswapping. Poll
Players during beta: "Give us a reason not to swap skills."
Blizzard: "Ok here's NV. It's a buff if you don't swap skills but you're unaffected if you do jump to town and swap skills all the time."
Players during live: "Now let us swap skills."
Blizzard: "If you want to swap skills again, you will lose the ability to get NV."
Players: "No we want full NV all the time and skill swapping."
Blizzard: "... I want a toilet made of gold."

This is ridiculous. They should just start every character at level 60, paragon 100, and allow us to map every skill to hotkeys. Oh and NV is permanent once you get a 5 stack ever and doesn't get wiped for any reason, it stays between games. And if you kill an elite it drops every legendary with max rolls. Oh and followers can be with you in multiplayer games and 1 shot everything and pick up loot for you so you don't even have to click on anything except to move.

No wait, all of this will occur in town at the waypoint so you don't even have to move.

$60 for 100 hours is pretty good. Your entertainment dollar is 833% more efficient than going to a theater or buying a video game with a 12 hour single player campaign. That being said I'm having fun leveling every character to 60, then I'll progress past Act 1 Inferno.
